Seahorse Against Drug Abuse!!!

Yesterday, we joined cub scouts & scouts from other troops in a talk about drug abuse by National Anti-Drug Agency (Brickfields Branch).

We learnt that drug addiction starts with smoking and va**ng which contains a lot of nasty things that we don't want to have in our body 🙅🙅‍♀️ And it also starts with some sharing from friends who we do not know what it is, then we get addicted.

We also had a discussion within our unit on what we learnt and found out more about the type of drugs and the laws that are available in Malaysia for those carrying/smuggling drugs. It's so interesting but scary 😨 Drugs are so dangerous and we need to fight against it! 🚫

We are organising an Anti-Drug Seminar with the cooperation from the National Anti-Drugs Agency (Brickfields District) this coming Sunday (18 Aug 2024) for Cub Scouts and Junior Scouts.

Throwback: 7 July 2024

We've completed our Cyclist badge with the help from Maglia. They taught us all about cycling safety, hand signals and how to ride a bicycle properly before having everyone of us demonstrate how to ride a bicycle safely.

Off to our next adventure!!! 🚴‍♀️🚴🚵‍♂️🚵‍♀️

Seahorse goes kayaking this weekend with KL Canoe.

After trying SUP last year, 18 of us tried our hand in another water activity which is kayaking.🚣‍♂️🚣‍♀️ We got to learn about the parts of the kayak & paddle, how to paddle and experienced short expedition around the lake.

We had lots of fun on the dancer kayak and got a different view of Kuala Lumpur skyline 😁🌇🌆🏙

We are now officially a Cub Scout!!! ⚜️🐺

We were all Bee Scouts previously and last month, we moved up to Cub Scouts, joining our older brother & sisters for more fun, learning and earning badges.

Yesterday we learnt all about the Scout emblems, Scout promise & law, Rukun Negara, Scout sign & Scout salute, the history of Scouting, jungle story and Grand Howl.

At the end of the meet, we made our Scout promise and invested as a Cub Scout by receiving our scarf & hat. Looking forward to more fun activities with Seahorse26 Open Troop 😀

Happy Mother's Day!!!

We went to Jadi Batek today to try our batik drawing and painting on a special Mother's Day tote bag.

We were guided by the fabulous staff there who helped us with the hot wax and to touch up for us before we paint on it.

We had so much fun drawing & painting on the tote bag as a special gift for our mums for Mother's Day! 😀

At the end, we were given our Lencana Pelukis as well as taking photo with our mummies and our master piece. Such a great Mother's day celebration 😍🎊🛍💕

Throwback: 28 April
In conjunction with Earth Day 2024, we had a leaf painting art with our cub & bee scouts. Before that, we had a moving up ceremony for 14 of our bees who reached the cubs age and welcome them to Cubs and to their own Six group. As a closing, we played a game of concentration and focus.

We have a long list of children waiting to join our program, but we are lacking of adult leaders to support this raising needs of young children seeking for fun & adventure.

Some of our cubs & bees joined 200+ scouts at PPM & WWF Earth Hour event last night in First City University College, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya. Let's do our part to help save our mother earth 🌎❤️

3 Feb 2024 - First program for the year and we went cave exploring at Batu Caves. It was so amazing to understand the different formations and insects in the cave. We even tried to be a bat and sat quietly in the dark cave listening to the sounds of the cave. And then, we used a candle to light our way out of the cave, just like how caveman many years ago did. So exciting!!!

We just went on an awesome camp at Ubipadi Leisure, Hulu Langat. We get to sleep in tents with our friends 💕 Akela, Ikki & Baloo planned so many things for us to do.

On the first day, we came up with our sekawan logo & cheer, we climb rope, learnt about knife safety, how to tie reef knot, scouts tracking signs, our Malaysia & KL Flag, dangers of pills & fireworks, how to get help & locations of important places, built our own boat from recycled materials & race it down a stream, did obstacles course, played defend the flag with water balloons, had a fun campfire with the Sea Scouts, and roast some marshmallows before we head to bed.

The second day started with morning exercise & flag ceremony, a bit of foot drill and continued doing craft work, presented our collections and then break camp before the final ceremony where we got our Keris Gangsa Badge, Collectors Badge & Handicraft Badge. Yay!!! 🤗

We can't wait for the next camping adventures with the Seahorses 🏕

Preparing for our upcoming annual pack holiday, the cubs learnt how to pitch 3 types of tents. From the oldest A-tent to modern dome tent and a 2-seconds tents (which actually took 20 seconds as we counted 🤣). After that, we played games and ended with the Scout clap! 👏 Can't wait to go camping again in 2 weeks time 🥰🏕

The Bees had lots of fun during our colony meet. We learn how to tie & untie the "magical" reef knot and played games to encouraged our teamwork. We've got candies too after we win the game 🥰🤗

Here we go again!! 2nd batch of treasure hunters were there at Tugu Negara learning about the monument, our national coat of arms and scouts tracking signs before embarking on a treasure hunt to look for the treasure that Akela has hide for us in Taman Tugu. It was so fun following the tracking signs and finally found the treasure! Looking forward to our next adventure 😀

We visited the National Monument, learnt about scouts tracking sign & did treasure hunt in Taman Tugu. It was so fun following the tracking signs and finally found the treasure that Akela has hidden for us! One of its kind button badge for Malaysia Day & International Day of Peace 2023!!

It's a wrap!! 6 of our cubs enjoyed themselves throughout the camp & successfully earned their Lencana Keris Gangsa. Thanks to 17th Seputeh Scout Pack for organising 😀

We're knocking hard ⚒️ this Sunday morning at the School of Hard Knock, The Royal Selangor Visitor Centre. The trip started with a tour around the Pewter museum, the science discovery area, live craftsmanship showcase and ended with us making our own pewter dish that comes with our name 😀

We did Stand Up Paddling today!! We were so afraid at the beginning but after guidance from Coach Amir, we managed to stand-up and paddle. We even managed to paddle around the small island as well💪🏄‍♀️ It was so fun with special water splash by the Fire Brigade 🚿👨‍🚒

Lion! 🦁 Tiger! 🐯 Elephant! 🐘 Giraffe!🦒 Parrot! 🦜Sealion! 🦭Tortoise! 🐢 Snake! 🐍 Giant Panda! 🐼 We saw so many animals today at Zoo Negara!

So lovely to have the education team of Zoo Negara to explain to us about the animals through their Animazing World program! We were so excited & thrilled to see them up close. After that, we went to watch the multi-animal show before going on a walk around the zoo to meet other animals, especially the Giant Panda! We had a really fun day out at the Zoo yesterday. Can't wait for our next adventure!!!

All of us worked hard to understand the scout emblems, scout promise & law, the scout sign, and the history of Scouting.

Finally we learnt about the Grand Howl, made our promise and got our scarf & hat as a symbol of us becoming a Scout.

Today, we made Jungle Book masks, toy sailboat & an envelope for our Handicraft badge. We also installed 6 new members into our pack! Yasaka! Yasaka! Yasaka!!

Woohoo!! We had our first scouts meet for the new term & we had new faces joining us as Bee & Cub Scouts 🐺🐝

We had so much fun getting to know each other with a Bingo game and followed by an award ceremony for those who achieved their JASS Award & cub scouts badges last year. We ended our meet with a simple Raya makan-makan session 😋😍🥳

Can't wait for our next meet!!! 🥰🤸🏄‍♀️🚵🧗‍♂️
