Hi. This is Gringo’s.

We were asked many times before how did we manage to sustain that long. A brief introduction, our restaurant is about 8 months old, and the food truck is 8 years old. Well, while our answer is direct and straight forward most of the time, below is the summary (mostly agreeing with Daim) of how a F&B business operate from the inside:-

🔴 Very challenging industry, mentally and physically ;
🔴 To be able to succeed, we need to have the soft touch, welcoming attitude, good food, evolve & adapt according to the market’s demand ;
🔴 Too many strategies (and sometimes high level decision making) is needed to be adjusted from time to time ;
🔴 Staff, Owner & Management need to be aggressive, dynamic and robust in terms of marketing & sales ;
🔴 No discrimination towards s*x, gender, race, religion and background ;
🔴 Most of the time, the owner of a F&B business will be tested the most
🔴 Physical & Mental strength is mandatory ;
🔴 Must possess the inner discipline, strength and tenacity. Cannot have the “give up” attitude ;
🔴 Owner will face alot of stiff test and challenges along the way. Instead of running away, embrace it ;
🔴 Health is important while managing a F&B outlet ;
🔴 High Level management must also get involve in the normal day-to-day operation and face physical demand or test ;
🔴 Weather , economy , time, location plays an important factors in running a f&b outlet ;
🔴 Suppliers are your best friend in this industry. They make you tick everytime and everyday ;
🔴 Kitchen department is the heartbeat of any f&b business ;
🔴 Do not panic and lose faith when facing bad times of the week or month. Embrace the challenges ;
🔴 Teamwork is crucial in any organisation. Team must be responsive and in high spirit everytime when a customer walks in.
🔴 Do not hate your competitor. Emotions will cloud your judgement. Instead, they will push you all the way to make you and your business better.
🔴 MOST IMPORTANT POINT : Have 100% faith & trust towards your partner(s). This is the ultimate key to any long term sustainable business. We win together, we will lose together is the mantra! 💪
