[ IPSOS PRESS RELEASE ] - The findings from the “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Monitor” study reveal that:

• 6 out of 10 Malaysians claim to have good understanding of AI.
• Malaysians are expecting AI to bring substantial changes in their lives. They feel nervous, but greatly excited about it.
• Asians are more excited about AI than the European and Anglosphere citizens.
• Malaysians, compared to the global average, are more likely to believe that AI will change or replace their jobs in near future.
• Despite the nervousness, many Malaysians agree that AI will make things better and contribute to the economy and their jobs.

This event was part of our ongoing collaboration with Sunway University, aimed at demonstrating how students can apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios.

The students in attendance were highly enthusiastic and engaged had very insightful questions, showcasing their readiness to embrace AI in their lives.

Ipsos Malaysia hosted Ipsos Facto Day this week, showcasing their commitment to being at the forefront of technology and innovation. The event offered employees a valuable opportunity to learn about Ipsos Facto, an advanced AI chatbot developed by Ipsos.

With around 150 staff attending in person and 300 joining virtually, the event proved to be incredibly engaging. Pakee Charoenchanaporn, Chief Client Officer of Ipsos Malaysia, and Ajay Bangia, Global Scale Leader, Ipsos UU, led captivating sessions as Ipsos Generative AI champions. They provided insights into maximizing Ipsos Facto's effectiveness and discussed AI's growing influence in the workplace.

Attendees were even treated to delicious cupcakes and adorable plushies on the day!

To further enhance the learning experience, four interactive learning labs were organized, delving deeper into Ipsos Facto's capabilities. These labs covered topics such as Slide Intelligence with AI, AI-Driven Project Mastery, Facto Hub, and Beyond Work: Harnessing Ipsos Facto for Personal Success.

Ipsos Malaysia extends its gratitude to all employees for their enthusiastic participation in making the event a resounding success. The introduction of Ipsos Facto marks a significant step towards leveraging AI to enhance and optimize work processes.

Ipsos Malaysia Public Affairs is proud to partner with Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN) - National Population and Family Development Board and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development to launch the Sixth Malaysia National Population and Family Survey (KPKM-6) 2024.

Minister YB Dato' Sri Nancy Shukri officiated the event which was in conjunction with World Population Day.

The survey aims to provide the latest information and time series data related to population, family and reproductive health, as well as the socio-economic status of the Malaysian population.

The insights and advisory will significantly impact policy planning for the next decade, which covers topics including fertility rates, mental wellbeing, loneliness, family life, adolescent aspirations, harassment and violence.

- The findings from the “Crime Monitor” study reveal that:
- Malaysians believe crime has been under control and is better than last year, with a drop in those who believe it has increased.
- 1 out of 3 Indonesians and Thai think that crime has increased, while more Singaporeans agree that crime has decreased.
- Poverty and unemployment are seen as the primary cause.
- Malaysians are more confident towards the law enforcement authorities on treating everyone equally and preventing crimes.

Principal of Ipsos Strategy3 Malaysia, Ganesan Periakarruppan shared findings from the recent Ipsos Release on the Inflation Monitor.

Key takeways are Malaysians still think that the country is in recession despite a positive 4.2% growth this year, which shows a clear disparity between Malaysians’ perception of the economic situation and the economic growth.

However, 45% of Malaysians feel that inflation would go back to normal levels within the next 2 years.

Ipsos Malaysia recently celebrated Generation Ipsos Graduation Day to commemorate 52 graduates for their achievement in completing the 18-month structured development program.

This rigorous curriculum is guided by Ipsos leaders and encompasses 14 trainings ranging from technical to soft skills. The graduates also had the chance to partake in a 4-month-long final year project, field work, event management and CSR initiatives.

Congratulations to all graduates on this incredible milestone! 🏆👏

State of the Business Environment in Malaysia Survey 2024 20/06/2024

Ipsos Malaysia was selected by the World Bank to conduct the Enterprise Survey on the state of the business environment among firms in Malaysia from March to November 2024.

This will help provide important inputs in understanding the dynamics of these businesses in emerging economies.
