🌿 Last month I started a new adventure in my kitchen with Kristy and her leadership team. Over a casual conversation some months ago, Kristy asked me: “Mum, how many home-cooked meals do you think our team enjoys each year?” It really got me thinking about the little things that mean so much.🍴 In our family, we hold tight to the belief that our values define us, not just as individuals but also in how we run our business. Inspired by the charming Grandma’s Kitchen concept at Enoteca Maria in NYC, she decided to engage my services to bring a slice of that homeliness to the team. There may be many grandmas at Enoteca, but in Helen’s kitchen, it’s just me! 🍰💕 This year, follow along as we embark on a journey of ‘12 Months, 12 Lunches,’ kicked off with our favourite Malaysian Nasi Lemak to celebrate Raya in a small, but meaningful way. Day 176: Panettone is a traditional Italian Christmas bread. Recently, I attended a Panettone class, which was a delightful experience.It was over two days, and under the guidance of an expert baker. I learnt the art of crafting this iconic treat, from making a pasta madre starter, mixing the dough, to mastering the intricate folding technique that gives Panettone its characteristic fluffy texture. Next day we baked the Panettone, the smell was an intoxicating aroma of citrus, vanilla, and buttery goodness. With this skill, I will be able to have Panettone all year round…. I ❤️ it!!
Day 171: Korean Butter Rolls with Sea Salt. Benjamin asked me to try making these. He even sent me the recipe. Sea salt butter rolls are delightful, blending the richness of butter with the slight saltiness of sea salt. It has a soft, fluffy texture. Cheryl gave me some lava sea salt to sprinkle on. The recipe worked 1st time! Instructions were easy to follow.🥳
