What triggers an eczema flare?

What is Eczema and why is it so hard to treat?

👉🏻 Atopic dermatitis (Eczema) is an inflammatory disease, involving the immune system. As our immune system is highly sensitive, it is designed to kill off any bacteria that enters our body.

👉🏻 When it becomes too sensitive, it can react to even the smallest of allergens or irritants, such as dust mites and other chemicals. Scratching the itch causes skin damage and even more inflammation, leading to more flares and hard-to-control eczema.

That is why it is so important to stop the Itch-Scratch cycle 🙅🏻‍♀️

Pregnancy itch is so common and is thought to be caused by raised levels of certain chemicals in the blood, such as hormones. As the bump grows, the skin of the tummy (abdomen) is stretched and may cause itchiness.
