3. A sleek weekday warrior for the working professional. (Hence the "Wednesday" name it started with)

Yah when we were done the "sleek Wednesday" somehow turned into a monster hold all tote. Whoops, my bad.

So was born, by happy error, the Saturday Bag .

its been a minute

We took some personal time just breathe, reset and re-install the life wheel...right way up.

Mac Gyver Hold My Bag.

Wallet+Clutch+Sling Bag+Hip Bag = Mac Gyver Bag

At our cleaning bubbly event last year at . We demo`ed a concept, my personal wallet that I designed - but bigger with a serious amount of carry options.

This compact bag holds 12 cards, you can easily double up though, 2 zipper pockets for stuff & stuff, 2 cash or Useless slippie slots and it fits at least 2 cell phones or sunscreen and a multi tool, hey you never know. It also has one quick access pocket for either your favourite card or those parking cards that I always end up losing.

We broke Analog, 2021 Tool Gate...

We had so many cool & fun projects, we cut leather until our hands were calloused and our tools broken.

No joke, I broke them all - even the backups mind you - 3 Years using the same stitching punches and WHAM, usually with a `ping` noise too, within a week I broke or bent them all.

Now they look like they have had bad dental health. 😂

Was the timing great? No when is tool annihilation a good thing?

Was it necessary? Oh yes, as the blue marks fade and our calluses go away we had a real reset. A very important conversation with self about what we have planned for the year and we gave ourselves the space to reset , clear the mind and remember what is important to us.

Fast forward to 2022.

We have fancy new tools incoming, some are here already and we could not be more excited.

Testing them out, seeing what they can and cannot do, what works what doesn`t. It's all part of the process.

We are loving the process ( touch wood nothing died yet) , busy on some fun, new, who said box? ideas.

Man, it has been, a Year.

We are oh so tired but a million times more excited for the new year, we simply cannot wait! ( Can you hear the song?)

Because we are so full of exciting 2022 plans, designs and ideas we have decided the only way to get all that done is to close early this year for custom orders.

Thank you to all that have supported us with fun custom designs. We really enjoyed working with you on new fun ideas and we are grateful and humbled that we are kept so busy!

Any custom orders already in the works will be finalized ASAP and THEN we get working on all the ideas we have that we just don’t have the time for because you awesome people give us the coolest, funnest projects to make. THANK YOU !

Out of Workshop.

Yes, our "Out of Office" is better than yours! No those boring automated emails are not a `thing`.

Seeing that we are traveling to the Farmers Kitchen Christmas Market in Windhoek we thought it best to leave our locals some pretty eye candy.

No this is not our breakout into art, its actually such a memorable encounter.

Last year a gentleman (later became a client too :) came up to me while I was working under the pretty tree in the courtyard. Trying my best to get Swakop wild birds to eat bird seed not cookies, It’s a process, a bit of leather work was done on the side.

After a chat he mentioned that his friend in Switzerland does leather work also, not just anyone mind you one of my leather Hero`s, Peter Nitz. We all need those - One day when you're all grown up - kind of inspirations right ?

So after a total fan meltdown (hopefully mostly internally) he asked if he could have some paper. Okkkkay, paper? Really?

Sure why not?

A few days later I found a rolled up bit of paper returned. The recycled paper we use for our packaging inspired him to create, Oh and did he create. Just beautiful, the whole experience made even better because it was completely unplanned.

Once opened the most beautiful picture emerged. Just wow.

We are all bow-tied-up for the Farmers Kitchen Christmas Market this year.🤩

We did however have a last minute order for a dapper young gentleman in dire need ( yup the need was strong) of a fancy fashion accessory to accompany a lady to a special dance. Ok fine Matric Farewell :)

We hope the young couple look awesome and that they enjoy their special evening!

How the 3-in-One became a thing.

This is exactly why we love custom orders. As a maker you learn new techniques and really think about new ways to solve design issues people never knew they had :) or build things you never would have thought about doing in the first place. It’s a very rewarding challenge.

We were asked to make a special custom order baby bag delivered in Windhoek (Already débuted last week) and it had the coolest conversion option between a sling bag, a shoulder bag and a backpack. Dare you to say that fast 3 times….and…..GO!

Before that Baby Bag order we had a custom order for a Sling bag for a very nice lady from Walvis bay. Hmmm, that got us thinking about one bag that can be used in many different ways.

Marry the two custom orders, add some cool hardware and Taaaaaa Daaaaaa enter stage left, the 3-in-One Bag.

Its basically one bag with 3 carry styles, pockets aplenty & sports our recycled magnets.

We salvage magnets from old IT and mechanical equipment before they end up in landfills. Super cool right? One of the makers may be a bit of a creative nerd.

There were 3 Prototypes available at Trendhaus and in our Online Store Ready to Roll section . ( The Yellow one sold day two but another is in the making don’t worry :)

Swiss Travel in African Style.

Tickey, the handsome & distinguishedly fluffy gentleman in the fun festive picture, is a travel dog that demands the very best accommodation no matter where he is.

Tickeys` dads had an awesome travel bag for him but it was nearing its last legs (no pun intended there). They asked us to recreate their old beloved travel residence in Leather, hand stitched and with 2 removable & washable insert options; one for Summer and one fluffy insert for Winter. Swiss Winter, gulp. Our dog would submit a complaint to management if we took her to such a cold place without her `bear suit` aka unshaved/fluffy Schnauzer .

Also in Europe, dog Hoomans can take their pets to restaurants and all kinds of places, so something that travels well, looks good under an arm and is comfortable for the occupant is a must for any well-travelled pet and their owner.

The whole bags vibe was fun and most importantly something from here. Namibia. We created a swatch option for them, found some cool farm material & fluffy material and started building the bag from Namibian Game leather.

Game Leather has the most awesome Patina, it`s not perfect and over engineered to look perfect. Every scratch , bush and mark is visible and gives the leather a history that simply no machine can recreate.

Now the Bag has travelled far and wide.

Phat Bag in Green people!

The green leather was a test and man did it come out looking sweet! Or maybe its our summer excitement coming in strong but I think the green could be a future staple in our stock.

Custom Order Baby! (Bag)

This was a custom order that was super cute.

We were approached by a local to make a baby bag for her friend, yes you know you are an awesome buddy when you take the time to make sure that your friends new life chapter is made (hopefully) easier with a custom designed bag.

The leather type the client wanted was better suited to Machine stitching, we don’t advertise that we do it (mostly because we travel a lot and bringing machines with us will kill our cars` suspension :) but we also machine stitch on special request. Its actually how we got started into the whole bag making thing. Fun story for another time.

The design is a hybrid of a bag that can be ordered online from a country far far away from Namibia (sies:) and what the client thought her friend would need.

Just a million times better because it's all Namibian right down to the grass the cow ate, ate and fine-tuned to one happy person.

The bag also had an interesting feature. It becomes a backpack when you attach the extra-long straps in a certain way, THAT is why we love custom orders. You learn.

The design started as a new hardier version of a well-used favorite bag that had seen better days.

The custom order requirement was for a bag that 100% matched the older version but just made from better material. AKA some literally home-grown all Namibian leather :)

No fancy pockets, no engineering - just a simple classy little bag.

Enter the `Old School` Sling.

So our version has got that Old School vibe, with some pockets and fancy recycled magnets.

Another totally fun custom order that inspired us to create something fun for general production - Yes check out our made to order section. This baggie is now available there too :)

The Old School sling is based on your regular little sling, just better ! Ok not better but more engineered I would say.

Its got our fancy new recycled magnetic closure. It allows us to make bags with closures that are hidden and will not get snagged on anything.

It also boasts outside pocket along with an adjustable strap to suit many different carry needs.

We have also been traveling Namibia so the ideas for brand-spanking-new creations are literally bursting to get made!
