JUNIOR KARTERS MAKING STRIDES IN SA

The recent round of the Rotax Championship at Formula K, saw Namibian Karters Russel Josephat (Bambino) and Nande and Mandume Kaiyamo (Mini Max) attaining good results over the weekend.

Josephat finished 6th overall in his class with Nande and Mandume finishing 9th and 14th respectively.

KARTING GOING PLACES - MOTORSPORT

Namibian karters are travelling all over competing in various championship events. A group of more than 20 youngsters are racing in the ROTAX AFRICA OPEN this weekend, some earning themselves national colours and making up a decent line up of competitors from various countries.

9 year old Cecil Koorts, is in Itay as we speak to compete in back to back events with the ROK CUP SUPER-FINAL being the ultimate test. Word has it that more than 400 entries have been received there.

In recent weeks, more Namibians have raced in various regional and national events in South Africa. Amongst them Zain Beurhin, Paul Oosthuizen and Ivan Vorster.

Karting has grown to have the largest competitor numbers under the motoring commission and is surely going to grow to higher heights.

We wish them all the best!

ROTAX AFRICA OPEN - KARTING

Twenty One (21) Namibian karters have made their way to South Africa to take part in the Rotax Max African Open.

With a total of 117 entries already received, this event should allow for some good action but also stiff competition from other countries.

The competitors will have a three day practice session this week and commence with official practice on Friday.

Saturday will see qualifying, followed by heat 1 and heat 2 and on Sunday the final heat will be run. Winner takes ALL!

Good luck to our Namibian team. (Updates will be provided)

MOTORSPORT NEWS - BEUTHIN RACES AT ZWARTSKOPS

Local boy Zane Beuthin recently raced at the fourth round of the South African Kart National Championship at Zwartskops Raceway in South Africa.

He was matched up against some pretty good competition in the big boy Rotax DD2 class. Even though attaining 10th and 11th positions in Heats 1 and 2, he set up some very impressive lap-times and we believe this will not be his last outing.

Beutin also competes in the Namibian National Karting Championship.

Well done!
