This is to remind all Medical imaging technician students in the department that there's going to be a World HIV day which involve all the department in the sch under the student union government to stop the spread of the virus. Which will come up on 1st December 2022....
It's very important and necessary

Hematoma
Hematoma is a pool of mostly clotted blood that forms in an organ, tissue or body space.
A hematoma is usually caused by a broken blood vessel that was damaged by surgery or an injury.
It can occur anywhere in the body including the brain 🧠.

CAUSES
-Accidents or bumps
-Microscopic tears in the blood vessels under the skin in athletic people
-Bleeding disorder
-Thinner skin due to ageing

TYPES OF HEMATOMA
-Subdural hematoma
-Epidural hematoma
-Intracerebral (intraparencthymal) hematoma
- Ear hematoma
- Scalp hematoma
- Septal hematoma
- Subcutaneous hematoma
- intracranial hematoma

SYMPTOMS
-Pain
-Swelling
-Redness
-Disfiguring bruises
-Discolorations

DIAGNOSIS
There are two major ways to diagnose hematoma namely:
1.Physical exam
2.CT scan

HOW TO TREAT HEMATOMA
Put ice on the area for 10 to 20 mins, rest the bruised area and elevate the injured area
