A preacher once asked his congregation if anyone had a child of 7.
A few raised their hands.

So the preacher decided to share a story:
A 4yr old walking down the street sees a 7yr old and pokes him.
The 7yr old seemed surprised that this younger boy would strike him for no reason, so he overlooked.
The younger boy did it again and again and the older waved it off as a childish act that didn't matter. At least he was sure he could beat the little guy if he wanted. So again, he did nothing.

Eventually the 4yr old keeps poking and hitting till he eventually tackled the older boy and then goes ahead to beat up the older boy.

The preacher then looked around the congregation and picked a man who said he had a 7yr old.
He asked the man what he'd do if he met them in such a situation with the 4yr old beating his 7yr old child.
The man angrily answered:
I'll beat my 7yr old for being big yet letting a 4 yr old beat him up.

The preacher continued;
That is how we make our Father in heaven sad because we have been given great power and authority but we have continued to let the devil beat us.
We wave off things that lead to sin because we think we are strong enough to overcome them but little do we know that those little things pile up against us and at the end we get beat up.
The devil uses strategies that seem inconsequential to us and he does so because in Truth, they are actually weak to us. He tries out different little angles until he finds that one thing that gives us away and we fall so hard that he gets to be on top of us giving the blows.

'oww, I can watch that movie with lots of explicit scenes and not be moved', 'my friends can't influence me so I can easily move about with addicts and gangsters and still not get influenced ', well, I can tweak that financial statement and no one would notice', 'its just a white lie, it won't hurt anyone '
and the list goes on.
We give the devil room forgetting it takes just a tiny leak, a little trickle in time to sink a boat.

BEING JUDAS

The only thing I've gained from following this man is the free food, fame and fancy accomodations when we tour different Cities. Thanks to which my shoes have all gone bad.
With such power you'd think he'll conjure the finest horses to take us places. It's almost as if he's related to suffering.
In towns where we were rejected, we slept outside.

I would have left a long time ago but for the stipends I help myself to from the treasury box. Not like we have much anyway😏. I wonder how he didn't know with all the power he claims to yield. What I would do if I had such power. Instead he uses it to dine with sinners.

One time, we visited the home of that rich short man. I was almost hiding because it would be a shame to be seen in the house of such a thief;though my fears vanished the moment we reached the table. I assure you the man is filthy rich.

The money I would have made from this our work ehn. Imagine how much we could make if we charged per hour for his words of wisdom, Or for miracles. I would have been the major distributor of miracle water with a main office in Jerusalem and branches all over.
Like that man whose friends lowered him from the roof, we could have charged them one small Tufaif like that. But No o. This my oga likes to do free work.

How about the beautiful woman who poured very expensive perfume on him. If only we had collected and sold that perfume,it would have been enough to sponsor us on a luxurious vacation to Rome with one or two daughters of Zion.
Me, I am tired sef.

Now we're at the table eating what he calls 'The last supper' and he's talking about death and all.

Meanwhile, there's only 3 pieces of fish in the bowl. Let him be talking, my own is to eat as much as I can before it gets empty.

"Jesus"

Did he just insinuate that I'll betray him?. I know he didn't call my name but it's my hand that's in the bowl with him.

"After all I've done for this man. All the long trek to salvation. After Sleeping out in the cold and preaching to strangers, he decides to embarrass me this way?
I'll definitely deal with him.

"No body disrespects Judas and goes away with it."

I will meet that cunning high priest and collect money that I'll use to elope with my fair lady....

I will show this man that I am Judas Iscariot.
