Book: No Room For Small Dreams
Author: Shimon Peres.

Looking at the title of the book, when I picked up the book to read, I thought that it was one of the motivational books in market. Though the book motivates, but it goes beyond being called just a motivational book. It is a book that exudes courage, positive imagination and the making of modern Israel.

No Room For Small Dreams was written by Shimon Peres, who was a prominent politician in Isreal. He held several political offices in Israel and was the ninth president of Israel before his death on 28 September, 2016.
The book has 227 pages, and is divided into six chapters. It is a non-fiction, that narrates the political life of Israel centering on the life of Shimon Peres as a politician.

The book majorly is a story of Israel's breakthrough in technology, security, and how Isreal gained its recognition as one of the world's building blocks in technology from a scratch, and the contributions of the author (Shimon Peres) towards achieving these. The central message of this book could be summarily be put as, “at the end of the tunnel, there is a light that awaits us.” Amidst the difficulties encountered in the political, technological and security sectors of Israel, they never gave up.

There are beautiful lessons to learn from the book;

A. Optimism in hopeless situations.
B. The road that leads to success is always littered with obstacles, but it remains the best way to accomplishing our success.
C. Life does not always offer us the comfort we need. We create our comfort through our positive approach to the difficult situations of life.
D. Everything could be achieved with the right disposition and positive attitude to events of life.
E. Always remember that you failed does not mean that your efforts were worthless. It is good when one tries and fails. Never give up.
Every young promising Nigerian needs to read this book. Our leaders need to read this book too. You will never regret that you did. Shimon Peres remain alive even in death. His optimism needs to be studied in the university. He believed that the road will be littered with obstacles. But it remains the only one worth traveling.

Hushpuppi Sentenced to 11 years in Prison

U.S govt. agrees to reduce Hushpuppi’s sentence to 11yrs for helping detectives solve other criminal cases . . Prosecutors in the United States have asked a federal judge to sentence Ramon ‘Hushpuppi’ Abbas to 11 years in prison and three years of supervised release for his role in a multinational conspiracy that earned him millions of dollars between 2019 and 2020. . .

According to Peoples Gazette, American attorneys led by Khaldoun Shobaki in the U.S. Central District of California (Los Angeles) argued that Hushpuppi should also be asked to pay $1.7 million in restitution; $500K in fines and $100 in administrative fees, per recommendations submitted ahead of his sentencing on September 21. . .

The development came more than two years after the infamous Internet fr@ud ringleader was arrested in Dubai in June 2020 for driving multiple schemes that targeted victims in Europe and the United States. He pleaded guilty in April 2021 after prosecutors discovered his involvement in a separate conspiracy to defraud a Qatari businessperson, who lost $810K in the process of trying to obtain an elusive loan to set up an international school. .

The prosecutors argued that their sentencing recommendations were appropriate considering the gravity of Hushpuppi’s crimes. The government said one of his co-conspirators Ghaleb Alaumary was sentenced to 140 years in jail for violating the same set of criminal codes. . “By his own admission, during just an 18-month period defendant conspired to launder over $300 million,” the prosecutors said.

The government said Mr Abbas’ criminal path was premeditated, even though he had a clear chance to choose a rewarding career as a law-abiding citizen. . .

Mr Abbas’ sentencing, the government argued, was reduced because he cooperated with detectives on our criminal cases under investigation and prosecution in American courts.
