There are strong indications that a caretaker committee will be appointed to oversee the affairs of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, at the conclusion of its non Elective Congress Friday in Benin, Edo State, Exclusivenews.com.ng understands.
Following a Federal High Court, Abuja, order, the NFF Elective Congress earlier slated for this weekend was put on hold, rather indefinitely.
The order followed a petition by the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria, PFAN, who sought an order to compel the NFF to ensure equitable voting delegates amongst the major stakeholders.
The players union also want the NFF to abide by the FG directive on expanded list of delegates from 44 to 144.
Exclusivenews.com.ng gathered that with Amajuâs eight-year tenure set to come to an end on Friday after the Annual General Assembly, a caretaker committee would be installed to run the affairs of the federation for a period not exceeding six months.
The committee, it was gathered, would look into the possibility of increasing the delegates list in line with the PFAN demand and the recommendation of the Federal Government directive.
The caretaker committee will then wind up its assignment with the conduct of the NFF Election.
âThe Youth and Sports Development Minister has already summoned a meeting with all the Presidential candidatesâ, an insider who is also a contestants in the NFF Election told Exclusivenews.com.ng on condition of anonymity.
âAt the meeting, the minister will sample the views of the contestants, Rob minds with them and discuss with them on the way forward since the September 30 NFF Election in Benin City will no longer holdâ.
It would be recalled that PFANâs decision to register its earlier withdrawn suit, against NFF followed what it,described as NFFâs failure to keep its side of an earlier agreement upon witch it withdrew the case in the first place.
Marcello Anyanwu, Other Stakeholders Harp On Promotion Of Grassroot Talents And Improve League, Wages For Women
Victor Okoye
September 22, 2022.
Some football stakeholders have urged the Federal Government as well as sponsors to focus more on the promotion of female athletes at the grassroots in the country.
A cross of section of football stakeholders who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja said, the days where female athletes were considered inferior to their male counterparts were gone.
They noted that in recent times, the women have shown that they were a force to reckon with in sports and have brought glory to the country in so many international competitions compared to their male counterparts.
Marcello Anyanwu, a football coach and consultant said the women had shown over the years that they were a force to reckon with in football on the continent, even in the face of poor funding and welfare.
Anyanwu said there was the need therefore to ensure that womenâs football was given adequate attention, especially at the grassroots, adding that the womenâs league required a major overhaul.
âItâs unfortunate that womenâs football which has brought joy to the faces of Nigerians over the years has suffered neglect.
âAlso, the management of the female league has been poorly run and managed over the yearsâŠ.,â he said.
The football consultant of Gulf United Football Club, based in Dubai said that the private sector was supposed to be the major driver and sponsor of football in the country.
He blamed the reliance on government as a major source of funding for football as the bane of the dwilding fortunes of the game in the country.
âI will therefore recommend that the managers of the league seek private sponsors as this definitely will boost the league in a major way.
âI will also recommend the managers of the league to seek for experts in football management as the female league needs a major haul,â he said.
He frowned at the huge disparity between the wages earned by the women in the National team as well as at the club level compared to those of their male counterparts in country.
He said there was a need to narrow the gap and ensure that it was almost at par, adding that the introduction of quality life and medical insurance for all female players at their various clubs was non-negotiable.
âI think the issue of borgues allowances for the men compared to the migre wages and allowances for the women should be discouraged as the women are no less inferior.
âI also think there should be the introduction of the health insurance policy for female players in the league, just as it obtains for their male counterparts, especially players who are either playing or have played for the national team.
âMore female local coaches should also be encouraged, mobilised and motivated to undergo refresher courses which will keep them up-to-date and make them better on the job,â he said.
Anyanwu who is also an advocate for grassroots football and a Youth sports Ambassador noted that he has been contributing his little quota and building a structure for football and formidable sports development in the country.
âI brought the Gulf United Football Club to Nigeria last year for a showcase, in which 20 players where selected.
âNo fewer than four players were signed into the club and are currently playing in the Division two league in the UAE. Most importantly I am creating a pathway for boys to get into teams in the UAE.
âMy goal is however not just to see to the growth and development of menâs football in the country, but also to promote female football, especially at the grassroots as I have observed a decline in female sports,â he said.
Also, Ngozi Eze, the Womenâs Football representative on the board of the FCT Football Association, also reiterated the fact that women sports was seen as inferior even though it had brought so many accolades to the country.
Eze revealed that the difference in the allowances of female players in the league was really low compared to that of their male counterparts.
âEven at the national team level, the women are not being well taken care of in comparison to their male counterparts, this is inspite of their dominance on the African continent for several years.
âAt the local level, States like Rivers, Adamawa, Ondo pay their female players as low as âŠ120,000 per month compared to âŠ500,000 and above being paid to the men.
âIt is really unfortunate that in spite of the huge disparity in wages, the female teams are most often than not owed unpaid wages and allowances by their clubs for several months.
âSome are owed up to one to two years of unpaid salaries and sometimes get frustrated and leave the sport at a young age to get married in order to make ends meet.
âLet me also bring to your notice that all the promises made by the State government to Bayelsa Queens after wining double titles have not been honored at all, which is very bad and demoralizing.
âBayelsa Queens won the Aiteo Cup last year and also won the league this year and even representing the country at the continental level.
âUnfortunately, they are being owed alot of bulk salaries, bonuses and alot of promises made by the government to appreciate and motivate the girls have not been kept till date.
âBut that has not in anyway deter the young girls from giving their best. They have kept on playing and have been doing very well both in the local league and in the continent,â she said.
She however commended the Edo State government for their efforts in bridging the wage gap between the Edo Queens and Bendel Insurance teams and providing better welfare and health insurance for female footballers.
She stressed that the situation was so bad that some states do not even have a female team which she noted causes a reduction in grassroots talent from those zones in the country.
âSome clubs like Plateau United, Enugu Rangers, and so on, donât even have a female team and they are non-chalant about it.
âIn other climes, clubs have both their male and female teams, so why should the case be different here in Nigeria?
âThere was however a recent directive that clubs without female teams wonât be allowed to participate in continental tournaments.
âSo, we are hopeful that this will go a long way to help in the development of female league in the country because alot of talents are being wasted,â she said.
She also noted the disparity in coaches salaries, adding that female football coaches earned less than N300,000 compared to over N800, 000 earned by their male counterparts.
The former coach of Bimo Sporting Club, Keffi also advocated for more inclusiveness of women in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board and other management positions at both the grassroots and national level.
She noted that elections were done without the females being carried along, adding that there was a need to create an enabling environment for women to participate in the running of the game.
âThe women are not being carried along even in the administration of the game.
âWhen it comes to the NFF, you can see that the situation is the same as only one woman is represented there.
âI am also privileged to be representing the women in the FCT FA Board, but if you go to other states, you will find out that they do not have any female in their respective FA boards.
âThis is my third year in the board and I can tell you that I have embarked on alot of female grassroot developmental programmes in the FCT.
âWe have discovered several talents and now planning on organizing two more tournaments before the end of the year,â she said.
She also urged the NFF to promote more female coaches as this according to her was an evolving trend amongst other female team in the diaspora. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)

BREATH OF FRESH AIR AS THE WORST NFF BOARD IN THE HISTORY OF NIGERIA FOOTBALL VACATES OFFICE TODAY (20TH SEPTEMBER 2022.)
The Suffocating grip, Stranglehold, looting and Disastrous eight years tenure of the 2014-2022 NFF Board officially comes to an end by the close of work today 20th September 2022. While awaiting transition to a new order. It is certain from henceforth that the Dominance of Nigeria Football Administration by States Football Association Chairmen as their exclusive preserve would be a thing of the past. No doubt that their gross incompetence has plunged Nigeria Football into the Abyss, little wonder no Presidential Aspirant in botch September 30th 2022 election ever mentioned in their Manifesto that they would build on the legacy of the 2014-2022 Board, not even its henchmen and Principal officers Jostling in vain to emerge as NFF President. Unsurprisingly it is only one man the failure of the entire Board is heaped upon including all collective decisions. It is therefore Pertinent to note that any NFF Board member who enters into any commercial transaction, sign or authorise the signing of any financial instrument on behalf of the Nigeria Football Federation from tomorrow the 21st of September 2022 is taking a risk.
HARRISON JALLA
Chairman PFAN task force.
The crisis rocking the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF is not yet over.
HARRISON JALLA, the Chairman PFAN task force has reminded NFF Board that the end of their tenure is fast approaching.
According to a statement he released to the press;
âClass of 2014-2022 Failed Board Vacates office midnight Tuesday 20th 2022 and the process of ushering a new order takes immediate effect. Those expecting a predetermined election where those who destroyed our football in the last eight years will reproduce themselves are living in fools paradise. That will never happen again. All hands must be on deck moving forward to follow the advise of the sitting president Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) for a new order of an inclusive Nigeria Football Federation.(NFF) This is the second time in the history of Nigeria Football a sitting president would come out openly to advise on way forward for Nigeria Football. Former President Goodluck Jonathan did in 2010 after Nigeriaâs dismal performance in the South Africa 2010 World Cup. Any member of the out going NFF Board parading himself from 21st of September 2022 is taking a risk. The so-called 10days Extension offered the out going NFF Board by the Lagos NFF AGA is a Greek gift and ULTRA VIRES. It has no place in our rule Books the Congress have no powers to Extend the life of any elected Board. There is no alternative to Fixing and rebuilding Nigeria Football at the moment. This is a plunge we must take now as a Nation. An inclusive election can come after addressing all issues stagnating our Football. Enough of Visionless leaders in Nigeria Footballâ.
It is expected that if the present NFF leadership is disolved, the process of amending NFF status and another election procedures will start afresh, as the much awaited NFF election on 30th of September, 2022 is facing litigation and possible threats of physical attack.

Re: Disqualification Of Marcello Anyanwu Over Invalid Nomination.
It has come to the notice of Marcello Anyanwu's surport group that the NFF election screening committee disqualified our principal due to 'invalid nomination'.
We wish to state as follows;
1. That there were options for the FA Chairman, or a member of the board to sign the nomination form for a candidate from his State of origin (Imo).
2. That several efforts were made to reach out to the Imo State FA Chairman to sign the nomination form for Marcello Anyanwu, but it was clear he was unwilling to do so. This made our Principal to take the second option, which is getting a member of Imo State FA Board Member, to sign the nomination form.
3. That our principal is already working to appeal his disqualification through the available channels.
4. We wish to state categorically that Marcello Anyanwu is not a newcomer in football in Imo State to be given cold treatment in his own State where he has done a lot to grow grassroot football which are on records.
We trust that the NFF screening committee will objectively consider the appeal on the way..

How FIFA Give Grants To Football Federations
There are different types of grants shared by FIFA to their affiliates in different countries.
The first grant is given before and after every FIFA organized tournaments; for example junior or senior World Cups. Outside the money each country team realize from sponsorships and other means, FIFA assist their affiliates with grants in badges. They send before the tournamentd. Part of it is used during the tournament.
The money FIFA send before the tournaments is for the countries to prepare the team for that particular event.
They equally distribute more grants after the event to enable the affiliates start preparing, grooming or to reward. It all depends on what the country's football federation want to do with it.
There is another grant called Quarterly Grant. This is meant for FIFA developmental programmes. FIFA disburse the funds to their affiliates for them to develop grassroot football.
In Nigeria, people hardly know about this grant. NFF use it for other priorities or share it among few officials.
NFF is still owing some States FA in Nigeria for this grant for years. The funds was disbursed to States FA about two or three times only.
The State FIFA affiliates can as well request for grants for facilities. It is called Facility Grant. There are certain procedures used by FIFA to offer grants to States to build stadia, hostels etc if they apply to undertake such projects.
There is another grant FIFA give to the affiliates through the Federation to build State structures. There are such structures in Jigawa, Port Harcourt and one in the home State of Amaju Pinnick, the present NFF President. The grant is about five million dollars to develop a state office. What FIFA is trying to achieve is that they want to remove the hands of States and Federal Governments totally from running football. That is the only way they can manage association football under their own rules and regulations.
In Nigeria, it is only when you are an insider that you can know about these several grants. Even the Federal Government knew about these grants recently. That is why Nigerians are seeing all the problems between the Ministry of Youths and Sports and the present NFF leadership.

Vote Marcello Anyanwu for NFF President
A grassroot coach and seasoned football advocate Marcello Anyanwu Give out hints at the quality needed for a young player to attract interest at Middle East league .
1. Goalkeeper : You can build any goalkeeper to the level been confortable playing as player, If you can find one who is calm and comfortable with the ball like a player, he will sure attract interest.
2. Central Defenders : The always look for one tall intelligent central defender that can play in the midfield anyway any time, He has to be comfortable in the midfield position. And pass what they call the break through pass from the defence to the attack ball hard on the ground to the foot of the striker and the other central defender doesn't have to be tall but must be fast like lighting.
3. Right & Left Wing Back : Both full back must be good and comfortable in the midfield areas too. Have very good offensively and contribute at the 3rd half of the attack, great crosses of the ball and very calm and comfortable with the ball.
4. Midfielders : A player who can handle the ball on his foot & reduce the yard of the field and very good at recovery. Calm confidence and comfortable with the ball.
Strikers & Wingers : Strikers need to focus on is to strike on goal.everytime you get the ball you don't look for second option until the first one is not available, it is okay for the strikers to be selfish.
Wingers : Notice yourself all have to be ball player, players able to take one on one. A player who is comfortable with having ball at all time.they have to be selfish little too.
Others Tips : Age range of talents been seek are from 18-20 years old, After that age you are not a young player anymore.
When you have in your academy or club a player who you know can hold the ball on foot, reduce the yard of the field, You just move close to him talk to him like your friend and explain to him about his quality and that highly on demand but he has to master his game. In Middle East if you lose the ball 3 times or more you are candidate for substitution.
If you play the Middle East way doesn't matter which position. All position are on demand because in Middle East, coaches don't go out looking for right back of left back or other positions, they look for players who knows what is required of them from their particular positions.
Football explained to the minute detail for players to get it. Players that play with head more than just with their body.

Marcello Anyanwu's Responses On Radio Nigeria Network On His Plans As The Incoming NFF President..
1. On how versatile he is about the workings of football in Nigeria.
Marcello: Armah, it will be recalled that I was the former MFM Coach under Nduka Ogbade. Currently, I am the consultant of a football academy in Kwara State. I know everything that are happening in Nigerian Football as at today. I am very versatile with what is happening. Remember that I am the Nigerian National League Ambassador, so I am fully aware of whatever is happening in Nigerian Football.
2. On what he is bringing on board as the next NFF President.
Marcello: I am going to build a formidable structure for football development. What that means is that I am going to build a strong pillar of football administration that will promote, develop and offer accessible base for all within the framework of sound and ethical practice. This is what is obtainable in overseas where I am coming from.
3. On his plans for grassroot football and new ideas to satisfy football loving Nigerians.
Marcello: I am a grassroot advocate. What I am going to do is to establish a formidable structure towards a sustainable and successful football.
4. On his plans for Women League
Marcello: Like I always say to you, grassroot is very important. The Women League is not functioning in Nigeria for a very long time. Like you asked me how versatile I am in Nigeria football. Honestly, my body and soul is in Dubai, but my heart is here in Nigeria.
What I am going to do if I have the opportunity as the NFF President concerning Women League is to make sure I get investors to invest in the Women League to get the best. It is very important to get investors. If people are not investing in the league, you won't get the best.
Look at what is happening in England, Spain and even UAE, United Arab Emirates. Lately my club, Gulf United broke a deal worth I think 2 million dollars for Adidas to kit us, because they have the structure, they have the plan and the capacity.
This is what I am here to do to get the female football going. We don't need to invite or bother ourselves for those players playing abroad, we can use the ones playing at home to execute all our matches.
5. On how he will give women football more encouragement and due recognition.
Marcello: Yes, they need to be given due recognition that is why I am going to partner with Government to build infrastructures. When we have the infrastructures and a running league, everything will be in place.
6. On his opinion on NFF status and reforms.
Marcello: The Status need to be amended. If the status doesn't amend, we will only have 44 people that will vote on the 30th of September which is not what it is supposed to be.
