8. Reduces the risk of Cancer

The Zobo drink contains hibiscus protocatechuic acid, which is packed with several antitumor and antioxidant properties.
Multiple studies, including the one conducted by the Department and Institute of Biochemistry in Taiwan and Karina H. Goldberg in Australia, reveal that Zobo drink can help delay the growth of certain cancerous cells by inferring apoptosis, often regarded as programmed cell death in gastric cancer cells.
Want to reduce the risk of cancer? Drink more Zobo!

9. Relieves Menstrual Pain

Another health benefit of Zobo is that it helps boost the female reproductive system.
The Menstruation process is usually accompanied with several intense pains, including cramps. But the good news is that Zobo has been proven to be very effective in reducing the pain to a significant extent.
Not that alone, Zobo also helps in restoring hormonal balance in the female body so as to reduce the symptoms of menstruation, including mood swings, depression, overeating, etc. The link between zobo drink and ovulation has not yet been ascertained completely; however many reports suggest zobo drink helps to deal with menstrual pain.

10. Reduce Depressive Symptoms

5. Boost your Liver Health

The liver is very essential in the body as it engages in several essential functions, including the regular production of proteins, secretion of bile, decomposition of fat, and lots more. However, these functions can be hindered if your liver is not working efficiently.

6. Promote Weight Loss

The Zobo drink has been scientifically proven several times that it helps in lowering the absorption of the major dietary components [starch and glucose] which are often linked with excess weight gain. When these components become lowered, it will then accelerate the weight loss process.

Additionally, Zobo hinders the production of amylase, which is very helpful in absorbing carbohydrates and starch in the body. This means that drinking Zobo regularly can help lessen the absorption from surfacing any longer.

7. Lowers Cholesterol

Hibiscus tea or Zobo can help regulate your cholesterol levels and also improve your heart and blood vessels.
Several studies suggest that regular intake of Zobo can help lower your Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol [the bad kind of cholesterol] and boost your High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol [the good kind of cholesterol]. When your cholesterol levels are well regulated, it will help protect against heart diseases and also protect your blood vessels from damage.

Additionally, the hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic properties contained in the Zobo drink is also beneficial to people with blood sugar disorders like diabetes.

1. Restore your Appetite

2. Deal with High Blood Pressure

Several studies reveal that regular intake of Zobo can help lower high blood pressure particularly in a group of prehypertension and mild hypertension of adults.
This is made possible by the enzyme inhibitor found in the Hibiscus leaves; what this inhibitor does is to confine the production of Amylase, an enzyme associated with the decomposition of complex sugar and starches. Once this has been successfully blocked, the blood stream will then become lower.
Additionally, the Roselle leaves used in making Zobo contains some other anti-hypertensive properties which are also responsible for regulating sugar level in your bloodstream, which it might, in turn, lower the lower bloodstream as well.

3. Treat Constipation Problem

As earlier stated, the Zobo drink is packed with several formidable nutrients, and one of the nutrients it is very rich in is fibre. The high level of fibre found in Zobo makes it a healthy drink for combating constipation problem as fibre is scientifically proven to be a great digestive system booster.
Therefore, if you’re experiencing constipation and you are looking for a healthy way out, then consuming Zobo regularly is your best bet. It will not only treat constipation but also boost your digestion system as well.

4. Deal with Kidney Disease

Regular intake of Organic acids like tartaric acid, citric acid, and maleic acid, etc. are proven to be effective for dealing with kidney disease, and the good news is that Zobo contains a great amount of these acids,

HELICICULTURE

Heliciculture, commonly known as snail farming, is the process of raising edible land snails, primarily for human consumption or cosmetic use.
The meat and snail eggs can be consumed as escargot and as a type of caviar respectively. Mucus, commonly known as snail slime, has medical properties and is used in cosmetics.

Perhaps the best known edible land snail species in the Western world is the , commonly known as Roman snail or Burgundy snail. This species is however not fit for profitable snail farming, and normally harvested from nature.

Commercial snail farming in the Western world is typically done with the (morphotypically divided into
- and ), formerly known as .

In tropical climates snail farming is typically done with the African snail, which biologically does not fall in the family of Helicidae, and the meat of which therefore may not be called .

NUTRITIONAL/HEALTH VALUE OF SNAIL

1-Snails are a great source of the valuable lectin, possesses anti-cancer properties and helps in boosting the immune system and fighting against cancerous cells.

2-The snail slime is extremely rich in allantonin, collagen and elastin, which is beneficial for the treatment of skin diseases and broken bones. The secretions also have a copper peptide, which is regarded as the only source of a substance manufactured for creating creams that are useful in minimizing scars and wounds.

3-Serum secreted by these snails is an excellent source of oligosaccharides that act as a hydrator for the skin. When applied directly on the skin, this serum works wonders for acne, enhances natural glow and protects skin cells from environmental damage.

4-The venom extracted from the ocean snail is highly beneficial for people suffering from addictions, depression and Parkinson’s disease. This substance produces a synthetic version of the toxin that blocks or stimulates receptors, which release chemicals in the brain.

In addition, toxins excreted by snails are valuable in stimulating dopamine, found lacking in people with neurological diseases.

SCIENTISTS REVEAL NEW BREED OF CHICKEN – April 1, 2019

In an announcement made today on the steps of a prestigious university, scientists unveiled a new breed of chicken they’ve been working hard to develop for the last decade. The team of researchers included chemists, biologists, and breeders from around the world. Their breakthrough comes on the cusp of a study released in March by researchers at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine that suggests that those who eat more than three eggs per week are at increased risk for heart disease and early death.

What’s so special about this new breed of chicken? It lays yolkless eggs. Yes, the San Vitellus lays one egg per day on average, the same as an ordinary chicken. The lead researcher on the project, Dr. Douglas Frederick Philp III from the National University of Lacazer, says the project was created as a spinoff from another study that began on this day in 1962. Under a grant from the university, a broad study of the breeding habits of domesticated birds from around the world led to one control group interbreeding with another species. Their offspring produced yolkless eggs.

To raise money to pursue their research regarding the yolkless laying offspring, the university produced a calendar of cute chicks annually for several years. The money raised went directly into the research program and sustained it for quite some time until sponsors were obtained.

When asked which two species were bred to produce the offspring, the team remained silent. Until they provide this part of the data, scientific journals and researchers will not qualify the team’s success. The team explains the data will be forthcoming in the months ahead. However, until they do provide the data on the breeding, they have yolk on their face.

Did you know that?

Nigeria total annual fish demand is estimated 2.7 million metric tonnes(mmt) annually

And just 30% of this demand is met domestically, resulting in an annual spending of 125bn (US$625m) on fish imports

Ghana annual fish consumption is estimated slightly over 1mmt,half of which is source locally

Cote d'Ivoire consumption is around 300,000mt and only 33% is source locally

Given the fish supply gap domestically as well as the west Africa sub region,
Nigeria is capable of not just being self reliant for it aquaculture needs but serve as a major exporting hub for other countries in the sub-region

However, the FGN need to support the fish industries across the country by creating an enabling environment for the business to thrive
