The Nigerian Child and Lekki Massacre

At Lekki toll gate, our children died for peacefully asking for the right to a peaceful life. They were killed by those who see Nigeria as their entitlement. They act and talk as if Nigeria is their personal property. They believe that they can make or break our children. They pocket the ones they make and destroy. They take our children from us and leave us empty making vain our labour. They sit on their high horses not caring if our future lives.

Our children asked what is rightfully theirs but they took away their rights to live. They sent unknown soldiers to children waving the nation's flags as their weapons. Those who pulled the triggers were trained to obey commands. Those who switched off the lights were trained to aid those trained to kill. We thought it was all about loss of income at the toll gate but now we know better. It was 'you can't stand in my way because emi lokan' (it is my turn).

Nigeria is for everyone. It is for our children to flourish and not die. Let's stop the murderers. Let's stop the barons. Let's stop the extortioners. Let's stop the lords. Our children have rights to life. Our children are not thugs nor are they destined for Sambisa Forest to eat agbado and cassava when there's live in luxury. Our children are no longer going to roam the streets in search of nothing. Our children have rights to good education, good light, good roads, good health care, good housing and good jobs. Don't handover Nigeria to them. Don't sell your votes to the highest bidder. Nigeria is not about them but all Nigerians.
