If the preaching of the gospel is the only sovereign, effectual means appointed by God for the regeneration and renovation of men's natures and lives, it is vain to expect that either of them will be wrought in such a way as to restore the beauty and glory of religion in the world, unless an able ministry is provided to teach the people.

For the truth to be kept pure on our lips and affect our hearts deeply, prayers must be made to God. Only by His grace will the ministry be enabled to keep the word of truth free from corruption.

John Owen writes these sobering words;

Many ministers are lazy, cold and indifferent tp their work. Few diligently and industriously give themselves wholeheartedly to the utmost of their strength and ability to the work of the ministry, with zeal for the glory of God and with heartfelt passion for the souls of men.

Many ministers are openly ambitious, insatiably covetous, proud, sensual, haters of those that are good, companions of the worst of men, showing depraved habits of the mind. How dreadfully do such men compare with the apostles and first preachers of the gospel!

May God once again send pastors after His own heart to feed the people with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15).

Only the revival of a powerful evangelical ministry will draw the church back from its present apostasy into that glorious state which truly bring glory to God in the world. Amen

God is still in the business of Saving lives

When George Whitefield preached about Calvary, his audience saw the blood. When he spoke of Christ's crucifixion, his listeners felt the nails.

Between 1736 and 1770, George Whitefield preached more than eighteen thousand sermons to crowds in Great Britain, Northern Europe, and American colonies. As many as eighty percent of those living in the New World heard him speak at least once.

In all, his audiences numbered in the millions, and millions more were exposed through newspapers, magazines, and printed versions of his sermons, journals, and letters.

George Whitefield revolutionized preaching and introduced a totally new approach to evangelism. His ministry was not tied to any particular denomination, and he used the popular media to publicize his meetings. With his passion to reach individuals for Christ, he changed the lives of millions. His methods became the foundation for modern evangelism and continue to affect lives today.

I have a message to the nations and what I need is publicity. ❌

John Bunyan wrote his work Pilgrim's progress in a dungeon.

Paul wrote the Epistle of Joy (Philippians) in prison.

If you are sure that you have something of God and the world needs to hear it, stay with God who called you, stay faithful to the assignment He has given and give your best as He opens doors.

You don't need to travel round the earth to reach those you're sent to. Be authentic, keep being refined, see beyond your current limitations and work hard as you maximize His grace.

The soul of man worships what it desires. Addiction is a kind of worship. Everyone is committed to something, whether good or bad. The more the soul is fed, the more it craves. The only way our souls will find rest is to focus on Christ and His glorious power.

You will increase your chances of regrets in life and ministry by trying to do big things in order to prove a point. With God, it's about instructions, not sentiments or selfish ambitions. God is only committed to financing what He has commanded. Stay with what He said and let Him honor His Word. Don't suffer burnout claiming you're walking by faith. Let God be God. Allow Him place you step by step into each phase.

HOW I BALANCED SPIRITUALITY AND SKILL IN MY MUSIC MINISTRY”

One of the scriptures that opened me up is John 4:22 – “Ye worship what ye know not: we know what we worship…” this means, knowledge drives worship. Worship is the response to revelational knowledge.
When people say to me, “come and minister to us”, they are indirectly saying, “come and tell us what is going on between you and God in music form”. That’s where the concept or idea of the song should come from – your love and relationship with God.
You can’t be in the presence of God and not get a release from Him to you. Our songs are revelations (Ps 119:54) and the revelations you have of God impacts upon the quality of work that you do. During my training, I had a pastor who was fiercely excellent.
So we would do trainings choir practice for four hours and then he would open his door and when he comes back he would say, ‘now let’s start choir practice’. So we would begin all over again.

We would pray with him all through the night into the Service in tongues. We had a programme called “Lazarus come forth” and during the last seven days of the thirty days we were on dry fast and back-to-back vigils into the healing service. We were also hearing the word during that time. So that is the spiritual preparation.
Then when it came to the music, he (my pastor) would ask me “Nathaniel, now that you have decided to just focus on God, what are the instruments you need?” He would travel and buy me seven trumpets – expensive ones.

On the one hand I had spiritual inheritance and then, the words of prophecy I had over me was global. That’s why I say to people “if God has called you to minister globally, you can’t do things like a local person. If you want to play globally, some people don’t have patience to want to listen out for your voice. So engage excellence so that while they are appreciating the quality of the music, the anointing hits them.

I Don't Understand

• Uncovered people reeking with immodesty dancing to songs of the people of the redeemed.

• Unconcerned people singing about the love of God in Jesus while managing a life of obvious disobedience to His will.

• Preacher talking about holiness while side chick is in a corner in the congregation.

• Celebrating imputed righteousness yet lacking any iota of commitment to practical righteousness.

• Celebrating salvation void of consecration in life.

• Celebrating Zoe yet meticulously naming kids after Zodiac signs.

• Speaking in tongues yet seeking to be guided by horoscope.

• Crossing from wherever to the Christian faith and expecting a celebrity treatment only to turn away in a few weeks, did you encounter the cross at all?

• Rejoicing lacking sobriety.

• Chanting liberty while a perpetual and willing slave to appetites of the old man.

I really don't understand, but the Lord knows those who are His. On that great and dreadful Day, will He understand?

PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT

The first category are like Pontius Pilate. They recognize the truth about Jesus Christ and even acknowledge it, but they will not yield to His Word because it threatens to disrupt their personal ambitions. They fear the criticism and rejection of people and would do anything they could to retain their approval. A greater desire for anything else (power, money, visibility, pleasure etc) apart from righteousness moves them to swing into action. So long it poses a threat to their agendas, they wilfully stay unconcerned. They devalue the truth about the Son of God.

The second category are like Herod. For the fear of painful self-examination and radical repentance, they distract themselves from the weighty matters that have a bearing on their eternal destiny by their preoccupation with the mundane (cruise, thrills, parties, shows, sexual escapades). To them, life is all a big joke and feelings matter more than truth. They are too shallow to see the truth.

The third category are like Pilate's wife who accept the veracity of Jesus' claims but that's as far as it gets. They also subscribe to many religions and doctrines. It's more of a good luck charm to ward off guilt, fear and other negative experiences. The same way the Philistines who stole the ark of the covenant reasoned. They don't mind a prayer from a priest and a charm from a sorcerer. Whichever works for now is where they are. They accept everything as truth.

The fourth category is on a fatally fast lane. They have an idea of how the "real Savior" should look. They have a misleadingly clear picture of the god they would like to worship and even presume to worship but have no desire for the God of the Bible Who has already revealed Himself through His Son as written in the Holy Bible. They ignore truth as inconvenient.

If I may ask: what have you done with the truth about the Son of God?
