A new page was marked today with the groundbreaking of Jobitech Ogidi. Dignitaries gatherered for the occasion, the Vicar of the Archdiocese of Onitsha presided the celebration supported by the conferes of the Onitsha community. It is our desire that the project will be successful and the outcome will be for the betterment of the young people. ANN Province is moving forward.

Welcome to a new month and happy All Saints Day. Today is a Solemnity and we encourage us all to go to Mass as Salesian family. Remember to ask for the intercession of the Saints, and the grace to live our lives as models of God's Saints.

We continued our visit to the Religious and traditional authorities, today, we had the opportunity to visit and have an audience with the traditional head of the Karadjé district where our community is domiciled, Malam Oumarou Yero Dirbaka, he was glad to see us, and welcomed us warmly, he gave us his "blessing" and he is looking forward to partnering with us in our Salesian mission here in Niamey, Niger Republic 🇳🇪

We proceeded again to pay courtesy visits to the nearest parishes where we were received with joy and enthusiasm for having religious collaborators in the neighborhood. Their cheerfulness and high hopes are next to none; they are exploring all possibilities of working with us.

Today, the first Salesian missionaries in Niger had their first official visit to the Archbishop of Niamey, Most Rev. Djalwana Laurent Lompo.

It was a very fulfilling session that lasted for more than an hour. He expressed his gratitude to the Salesians for their apostolic generosity in responding to the invitation for the Salesians since 1987, more so, arriving now that the country is in political turmoil. In his words, "The people have been expectantly waiting for the Salesians as Saviours; and this makes the demands on us very high; the work is enormous, do your part but don't let the people down." He encouraged us to listen so tenderly to the people as the first apostolic charity we can offer them.

St. Charles de Foucauld Community Niamey had her first Eucharistic celebration this evening and attached here also is the first community meal. We prayed that the spiritual and bodily food we share may strengthen our bond of fraternity.

"Speak Lord your Servant is Listening" ... From the Youth Ministry department; "today we officially inaugurated the Samuel Vocation Group in Kubwa Community..... All thanks be to God...."

History is born in the Africa Nigeria-Niger (ANN) Province of the Salesian of Don Bosco (SDB) as the first Salesian missionaries officially arrive Niamey, Niger Republic today 29th October, 2023 at about 03:15AM (GMT +1) to begin an encounter with the young people with the heart of St. John Bosco. The missionaries to undertake this task are Rev. Fr. Aurélien Juvencio *Ahouangbe* SDB, Rev. Fr. JohnMary Uche *Etunke* SDB, Dieudonneé Ilunga *Mulongoy* SDB and Kenneth Tochukwu *Odo* SDB.

Animation Visit of the PYD, P-TVET and P-JSO to Koko community.

From the 22 -25 October 2023, we visited the community of Koko to assess the vocational training centre, to present to them the TVET strategic plan, the SEPP of the province and to launch the Samuel Vocation Group.
It was indeed a beautiful moment of sharing and understanding the reality of the community of Koko and the young people. This visit is part of the plan of the province to encourage and support our communities with the province in carrying out our mission to the young people. During one of our sharing, it was clear that our Salesian work is Youth Ministry and that if we fail to work with and for the young people, we are no longer sons of Don Bosco. The visit also created an interactive session with the P-TVET office and the staff of the training centre.
