To become an expert achiever in any activity, it takes: practice, practice, practice, practice!

You who is coming from a family background of native doctors and idol worshippers, you join others to sleep all through the night without dedicating special days for midnight prayers.

You who is soaked in a circle of marital delay and disappointments in the family, you eat more than others, three square meals 7days a week, without the discipline of fasting.

You whose marriage has a medical condition attached to it, you still need serious persuation to spend time with the Lord in prayer daily.

You who is battling with the yoke of still births, miscarriages and barrenness in the family, we still have to convince you to study the word and fill yourself up with faith and God's promises.

You who is very much aware of the spirit of untimely deaths roaming from one member of the family to another, we will still have to beg you take your personal walk with God seriously.

We should squeeze juice for you.

You want to have it easy like Isaac when you lack the Covenant backing of Abraham.

Many times, I dare say boldly, the situations surrounding your life already picks your battles in marriage, to say you don't know the posible challenges your home will be coming against shows how foolish and negligent you are, respectfully.

Success never jump on people. It's a matter of choice, determination, dedication, commitment and discipline

Many fail to understand that there is a cross attached to anyone you marry; an addiction they are still working out, a barrier they havent crossed yet, an uncultured past, an unhealthy effect from past life, family background and dysfuntions we haven't healed from, loud personality differences, mother inlaw clashes you can't do nothing about, a habit they're still battling with, etc.

With each cross comes a certain level of grace required to manage that area(s) of weakness.

You may love and care for a person too well, and yet lack the grace required to keep their bridge from falling down.

You can love them enough to understand their temper and rage when offended, and yet lack the grace of patience and tolerance to contain it for the longest time.

Yes we will need to keep working on ourselves, even so, it requires a level of grace to manage anyone in a transition.

Better yet, if that transformation doesn't happen no matter how they try, are you equipped to deal with that area of weakness full time?

Remember this. If their area of weakness is not your area of strength, you have already lost the battle.

If you cannot hold healthy conversations with them, they're not your life partner. Communication is the single most important quality to look out for in a person you intend to spend forever with. What they say when they're upset, how they conduct themselves when they're upset, how long it takes for them to calm down and be in the mood to iron things out with you...all matter in the grand scheme of things.

A person who doesn't forgive; who is difficult to please; who isn't appreciative; who isn't emotionally sensitive; who isn't naturally happy and find joy in the little things; who doesn't motivate you; who you don't find sexually attractive; who is always right; who doesn't make compromises, cannot be your life partner.

Ignore these things at your peril.

THE MYSTERY OF TRANSFERENCE

In 2 Timothy 1:5, Apostle Paul acknowledged something very mysterious about Timothy's walk with God. He said to him;

"I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also."

Timothy never had to struggle with his faith walk with God, because his mother and grandmother had taught him to walk by faith from his tender age, they modeled to him a perfect example of faith;

They taught him to believe God for his food and water.

They taught him to believe God for his school fees.

They taught him to have faith for his own toys and for everything he needs.

They taught him to see God first as his ultimate source, before putting his trust in them as his parents.

His mothers had an undiluted gift of faith, which they passed on to their son.

Timothy could have had lapses in other areas of life, but when it came to his faith the matter was settled. Paul saw it, he said what manner of faith you have in Christ, at a time when the faith of the Church is shaken due to persecution and attacks. This is not some ordinary faith the other leaders have, this is a gift of faith, passed down from two generations to you.

Saints, I know you are making plans to pass down carnal inheritances to your kids; that company, that landed property, that old Benz, good. But what spiritual gifts are you getting ready to pass on to your children?

Lois and Eunice could not afford to depart the earth without ensuring that their gift of faith is passed down through their bloodline for generations to come.

What spiritual inheritances do you have?

What covenant have you trapped in God that is transferable?

What debt is God owing you as a result of your faithfulness and obedience to Him? Such that your children's names will be included in the book of remembrance as your next of kin.

In Genesis 26:3 God fulfilled a promise to Isaac that He swore to his father Abraham before he died. This is the real definition of an inheritance, one that outlives several generations.

You want to marry and have kids, that's good. But what inheritances are you passing on to make the life of your children easier than yours?

2. Check the progress he or she is making towards fullfilling their purpose in life: its not just about knowing where you are going, but also being sure that you are taking along the right journey partner.

3. Check their family upbringing and background: a fruit does not fall too far from the tree. Check for healthy and unhealthy patterns that are likely to show up in the future. A person is a component of their upbringing and family conditioning, ensure that you are picking battles you are equipped to fight.

4. Check their habits, addictions and their character: a large junk of who we are is a product of our habits. Check for a track record of discipline. Check for a track record of hardwork. Multiply their output today by two, that's who you will be married to in a few years.

5. Check for attraction. Yes we shouldn't be led by sight but by faith, but on the journey of marriage, attraction will come in handy in times of temptation, and in seasons where your faith in your suppose seems shaky.

6. Check their relationship with God: alignment by the Spirit is the soul of any marriage. It is pure joy to be with someone who is like-minded in thoughts, in faith, in Spirit and in values just as you. It lessens the loud and eliminates unnecessary differences that will destroy your compatibility in marriage.

LESSON FOR TODAY

A lady worked at a meat distribution factory.
One day, when she finished with her work
schedule, she went into the meat cold room
(Freezer) to inspect something, but in a
moment of misfortune, the door closed and
she was locked inside with no help in sight.

Although she screamed and knocked with
all her might, her cries went unheard as no
one could hear her. Most of the workers had
already gone, and outside the cold room it's
impossible to hear what was going on
inside.

Five hours later, whilst she was at the verge
of death, the security guard of the factory
eventually opened the door.

She was miraculously saved from dying that
day.

When she later asked the security guard
how he had come to open the door, which
wasn't his usual work routine.

His explanation: "I've been working in this
factory for 35 years, hundreds of workers
come in and out every day, but you're one of
the few who greet me in the morning and
say goodbye to me every night when leaving
after work. Many treat me as if I'm invisible.

Today, as you reported for work, like all
other days, you greeted me in your simple
manner 'Hello'. But this evening after
working hours, I curiously observed that I
had not heard your "Bye, see you
tomorrow".

Hence, I decided to check around the
factory. I look forward to your 'hi' and 'bye'
every day because they remind me that I am
someone.

By not hearing your farewell today, I knew
something had happened. That's why I was
searching every where for you."
