Now that the holidays are over it’s time to refocus and realign our fasting goals.
I’m not a fan of new year resolutions.
I like to set goals and work hard to crush them. If I don’t get to crush all, I do not beat myself up rather I dust myself up and try again.
Life is not that hard.😄

Through long years of misinformation, people have been told, ‘Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
It give you the strength, energy and vitality to do a hard morning’s work, either physical or mentally.” This is absolutely erroneous! It is not a true scientific fact.
When you eat a heavy breakfast, though reflex action you feel full and satisfied, but you do not gain strength. It takes hours for this food to be processed by the digestive system before you can gain any energy or vitality from a big breakfast.

🔶🔶🔶FASTING SCHEDULES🔶🔶🔶
▶️The 16/8 Schedule
The numbers say it all.
You fast for 16 hours and then consume your daily calories within a set 8-hour window.
Most people choose simple hours to eat, such as from noon to 8 PM; this way your fasting state is through the night while you sleep and you skip breakfast, which when you think about it, it isn’t that hard, especially sindce breakfast is typically on the go for most people these days.
Other people, who are slightly stricter with their fasting, may choose to eat during a shorter window of time, say 6 or 4 hours.
▶️The 5:2 Diet (The Fast Diet)
This way of fasting involves eating as normal for 5 out of 7 days of the week consecutively.
On the other two remaining days, you drastically restrict your calories to around 500 a day if you’re a woman and 600 if you’re a man.
▶️The 24-Hour Schedule
With the 24-hour protocol, you simply skip two meals in a day and take a break from eating for 24 hours.For example, if you eat on a normal schedule and finish dinner at around 7.30 PM, you wouldn’t eat again until 7.30 PM the next day.
So basically, you’d eat your regular three meals a day, and then from time to time choose a day that suits you to skip both breakfast and lunch the following day.
If you can’t do an entire day’s fast, that’s fine; try doing it for 18 hours, and build your way up gradually until you can manage a full 24 hours.
How many times you do this in a week is entirely up to you.
That’s the awesome thing about it! You pick days that fit in with your life and current situation.
▶️Alternate Day Fasting
As the name suggests, alternate-day fasting requires you to fast every other day.
You can either fast completely on your fast days and only consume water, black tea and coffee or you can severely restrict your calories to around 500.If you’re a newbie, I think doing a full fast every other day is quite extreme, so start off by slashing your daily calorie intake and work your way towards a full day fast every other day.
Personally, I don’t think this is a sustainable form of fasting, as it will require you to go to bed hungry a number of times of week; however, it is an excellent way to kick start that fat-burning process again if you hit a weight-loss plateau.
Fasting is a practice that has been associated with a wide array of potential health benefits, including weight loss, as well as improved blood sugar control, heart health, brain function and cancer prevention.
To get the best results, you want to get into the deep fat burning stage of 16-18 hours at least 2-3 days a week.
To activate autophagy and deep cellular healing, you want to dip into the 20-24 hour range of a fast each week.
This food scarcity stressor will flush out the j***y proteins in your cells and increase the mitochondria to improve your cellular energy production.
Doing this process over the course of a year will significantly improve your weight, energy, mental clarity and disease risk factors!
Fasting offers many health benefits.
However, fasting is not for everyone.
Insulin is the body’s storage hormone.
When insulin is not available; this usually happen when you are fasting, the body is able to tap into its stored fat and use it for energy.
Our body exist in two states; the fed and fasted states.

If you are new to intermittent fasting, I recommend that you start with a simple fast.
This method involves 12 hours of fasting including your overnight sleep. You may start your fast after dinner and don’t eat for 12 hours until breakfast.
During your eating window, focus on a nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory diet to meet your nutrient and caloric needs.
Gradually increase your fasting window until you find what works for you. Most people do the best with a 16-hour fasting window using the 16:8 method.
The 16:8 method involves 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of feasting/eating window.
Always remember to keep your fasting clean. That is stay away from sweet and any drink with calorie. Stick with water, plain coffee and teas(green tea, black tea and herbal tea).
