This expansion marks a significant milestone in NELFUND’s ongoing commitment to providing access to quality education for all Nigerian students, regardless of their financial circumstances.

WRONG PUBLICITY FOR UNAUTHORIZED INFORMATION ON ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES.

The University Management has noted with concern, the publicity accorded proposed new academic programmes of the University, especially in the social media. This information, especially for the new Faculty of Computing and Bachelor degree in Entrepreneurship, and indeed any other, did not officially emanate from the University.

Management therefore, cautions interested applicants, parents and Guardians and the public to disregard this unauthorised information and await an official publication from the University authority on any academic programmes that are likely to commence in the next academic session.

Nasiba Babale, The Poet of Light, is a medical laboratory scientist with Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital. She is the Creative Director of Poetic Wednesdays Initiative, and the moderator for Glass door Initiative’s Poetically Written Prose contest from 2019 to 2021, and the second runner up for the 2018 edition of the same contest. She was a Co-organizer of TEDxAminuKanoWay in 2019. She was one of the judges of the 2020 edition of The Nigerian Students Prize organized by Poets in Nigeria. Her poems have been published by Brittle Paper, African Writer Magazine, Ghost City Press and others. She was shortlisted for the Brigitte Poirson Poetry Prize 2023. She was a columnist for Konya Shams Rumi and a lover of arts. Recently, she co-curated the maiden editon of Kano International Poetry Festival.

She is the author od the chapbook The Rain is Like You (Konya Shams Rumi, 2023) and the poetry collection Pickled Moments (Konya Shams rumi, 2024) and hails from Kano State, Nigeria.

Dear Balewites,

The Student Union Government (SUG) is calling on all Balewites to refrain from participating in the upcoming National protest as the students mother association the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has disassociated itself from the protest.

In light of this, the university will be providing security on both campuses to ensure the safety of students within the campus premises. Additionally, communication has been made with village heads and vigilantes to help secure students outside of the campuses.

Furthermore, the Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled for today (Thursday) and Friday has been postponed. The new dates for the test will be communicated to the affected students in due course.

We urge all students to stay indoors during this time as we cannot predict how the protest may unfold. Let us prioritize our safety and well-being above all else.
