A prayer of thanksgiving.

Thank You Jesus for waking me up with sweet breath this morning; for having green eyes that can still see; for still possessing ears that can hear; for standing on two strong working legs; for being attached to two steady moving arms. Thank You for this heart inside me that still beats and still longs for You despite the war that has been raging in my mind. Thank You for keeping my heart soft despite the wickedness of others who devised plans to ruin me and bring me death.

You protected me from my enemies but you also protected my heart from turning bitter. You protected me from hating the world that chewed me up and spat me out. You protected me from myself. You gave me a heart that reaches to be yours and you gave it to me in the womb. I can still love and that is only because of You. I can still strive to be more and that is only because of You. I can still inspire and that is only because of You. I can still trust and that is definitely only because of You. You took a painful world that I once once believed in utter hopelessness that I should take myself out of and You are teaching me to love those who were pulling the trigger, and to forgive them for casting spells of despair. There is so much more I could thank You for but nothing as miraculous as the heart You have blessed me with.

I’m sorry for doubting You, Father. You have never left me. It is I who left You, but only in my mind where the enemy sometimes takes me places I don’t want to return to. Forgive me for not calling out Your name. Forgive me for not using the power in the name of Jesus Christ.

Forgive me Father, and thank You.

Labour Congress, NLC has drawn a battle line with the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike over the demolitions in the capital city, Abuja.

NLC president Comrade Joe Ajaero said the demolitions were mainly directed at the poor as akin to Hitler’s tyranny.

“Shelter is among Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and you go and demolish it and ask them to go to hell and your so called master plan is in your pocket.

“Nobody knows where your master plan is. And you watch NLC draws battle line over Wike’s demolition planin Abuja them, some of them use their retirement benefits to start foundation (and you demolish it), that will not continue,”

“it is impoverishing the masses and it is done with a level of impunity similar to Hitler’s tyranny in Germany. That should not continue because it is affecting more workers. If you check the people whose houses are being demolished it is that class of people
that you have not provided houses for.”

“Nigeria’s disposition to welfarism is gone even when it is provided for in the Constitution. Nobody cares for your transportation, you generate your water, your electricity, you pay your children’s school fees, no hospitals. Even when workers contribute money for housing policies, it is being diverted. So, this war cannot continue,”

NEW DAWN FOR THE MINING SECTOR.

Shortly after Mr Dele Alake released the policy direction for the mining sector, he proceeded to Australia for a working trip.

In Australia, he helped reach an agreement between the Ministry of Solid Minerals Nigeria and the Australian Ministry for Mines and Petroleum, Energy, Corrective Services, and Industrial Relations.

The deal will involve sending Nigerian mining professionals to Western Australia to study modern mining technology and practices for free.

He also had productive discussion regarding mining investments in Nigeria with the Managing Director of Basin Nigeria Limited, Dr. Steven Davies during the fourth session of the Africa Down Under mining conference in Perth, Australia.

He was also interviewed by the editor of Gold Mining Journal, Dominic Piper, where he discussed policies put in place to ensure mining development and positive transformation in the sector in Nigeria.

Why Australia?:

Australia's mining industry is a pillar of the Australian economy, with the country being one of the world's largest exporters of coal, iron ore, bauxite, alumina, and many other resources.
Mining also contributed a record A$455bn ($298.64bn) in export revenue for Australia in the 2022–23 financial year.

Data also shows that the mining sector in Australia is responsible for 14% of their GDP while Nigeria’s mining sector contributes 0.8% to our GDP.

There is a lot to benefit from Australia in terms of investment and knowledge transfer

Project One is setting up a special event in celebration of the late Nigerian national flag designer, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi (Mr. Flag Man), who recently passed away.

“He contested Senate in 1992 fresh from the private sector. He won. In 1999 he ran for governor of Lagos fresh from exile and won. The legendary Gani Fawehinmi wanted to nab him for forgery. Gani lost. In 2003 when all governors of his region lost, he won both at polling unit and in court.

He was charged before CCT for asset declaration, he won “by error”. He ran for Presidential primary, he defeated Vice-President, Senate President, 10 serving & ex-governors and ex-ministers. His victory at the primaries was challenged as 23 cases were filed in court. He won.

His party was poised to lose the election but the opposition decided that it was time for them to split up/fight. He won in the process with the smallest margin in Nigerian history. His victory was challenged in court. He won.

The man has never lost a personal political battle before. Even the Americans who accused him of drug trafficking settled for forfeiture. Is it now that he is the most powerful man in Nigeria that he will be defeated”
