During the second stage (live) of the pitch competition in my business office, we had the opportunity to present our products samples to the judges.

I had the different pack sizes of our Snacks products, including a sample pack of our Meatpie Flour used for baking.

Usually, the idea is not just for the judges to see the products, it is also for them to take some of it home if they wish. They go in as part of our marketing campaign.

One of the judges, at sighting a pack of our Snacks , fell in love with it on the spot, and picked a pack for the mother-in-law who is aged, and whose menu they recently overhauled.

I didn't need to say much. I only said, "if you have an elderly parent with or without diabetic challenges, and you want them to live a bit longer this should be your go-to swallow for them".

I have learned business lessons on this journey that I haven't learned in any of the entrepreneurship sessions I've had to attend, free or paid.

I know you want to answer the CEO of that company. You can still do that without having a 💯 ownership of the business. Allow people with the skills (and not just the money) to come in and make changes, and grow the business.

I also know you want to attract this people with money and skills that'll grow my company ( GOODLUCK IDEAL EVENT PLANNERS ). So you small time is the time to build yourself, and build your business to attract these people. You have to have something that's worth investable.

You must be a person of good character. They see you first, and then they see the business. A good business in the hands of someone with a terrible attitude and character would go down, it's only a matter of time.

Use value to sell value. Incentives is value. Paying workers for extra time is value. Don't just give words, give actions as well.

People would leave you, and start same business as you next door. Don't become bitter. Wish them well, and focus on your lane. Bitterness would make you lose focus.

Read and equip yourself. Grow alongside the business. You're not good with numbers, enroll in classes that teaches you how to read numbers.

Delegate responsibility to your team. Allow them learn on the job as well. Give them some power, make room for their failures, and allow them make mistakes and learn the lessons.

When I started selling Ukwa in Event ,a few years back, aside that my Mother had laid a foundation doing same business many years herself, I knew that if I had to scale, I would need to find the gaps in the business.

One of the major gaps (there was so many of them), was and still is scarcity. Catering and Decorations is a seasonal work. And so once the season is complete, scarcity sets in, and price skyrockets.

So to bridge the available and scarce season of Events, it means we must have supplies 365 days a year. It seemed unlikely to happen at that time because this was a business running with a N100k. All I had was the idea and vision.

If you had entered my house before, I always had/have the vision and mission of Goodlucks Foods written on a cardboard paper. I wanted to wake up and sleep looking at the cardboard.

My vision was structured that once you think about My Snacks you think about Goodlucks Foods or Goodluck Eriobu. As in, you can't can. Except you're not a lover of quality, its okay.

So when I wake up daily to more people coming to the awareness that one day is now "packaging Chinchin like I did today, it tells me that gradually that vision is coming to a pass, and it's not even 3 years as yet.
