THE WISDOM OF THE SERPENT
PATRT 2

NB: This is a continuation of the series I started on the Wisdom of the serpent. Serpents are the most hated of all wide animals and yet it is the most successful of all the animals.

In Matthew 10:16 - Jesus says "... be as wise as the serpent". What wisdom has the serpent that man needs? They are masters of handicaps. They don't have external ears and are therefore considered deaf yet they hear by picking up vibrations from the ground and transforming it in thier brains as sounds.

They don't have legs but they run. They don't have hands but they climb trees; they don't have fins but they swim; they don't have wings but most serpents fly. Rather than complain of what they don't have, they overcome thier inadequacies by finding a way to do what can not do ordinarily. THOSE WHO COMPLAIN CANNOT OBTAIN. RATHER THAN LAY BLAMES, FIX THE FAULTS.

3. SERPENTS ARE UNPREDICTABLE

See John 3:8 - " The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Snakes are powerful because you don't know what it will do per time- whether it will strike, run or hide. To be an effective leader, you must take different forms.

Being unpredictable creates a sense of mystery and people fear and respect mysteries. No one can tell what you are going to do next. Don't be social at all time and don't be mean at all time. Take a form by reading your environment. Know when to use you staff for comfort and when to draw your rod for rebuke and correction.

I MAY SOUND SOMEHOW TO SOME PEOPLE NOW IF I SAY THIS BUT I WILL SAY IT HOWEVER. YOU CAN'T TRAVEL FAR IN THE JOURNEY OF LIFE IF YOU ARE TOO EMOTIONAL OR SENTIMENTAL. PEOPLE RIDE ON PEOPLE THAT THEY KNOW CAN'T DO ANYTHING. DON'T BE TOO CALM THAT PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE CAPABLE OF NOTHING.

Jesus took different forms in different circumstances. At one point He was seen smiling with Children saying" Allow them come to me...". At another He entered the temple in anger and drove gamblers away.

THE GREATEST ART I HAVE MASTERED AS A LEADER IS TO KNOW WHEN TO BE A LION AND WHEN TO BE A LAMB. SITUATIONS WILL REVEAL WHICH YOU WILL BE. JESUS WAS BOTH FOR DIFFERENT SETS OF PEOPLE. FOR US HE IS A LAMB, FOR OUR ENEMIES HE IS A LION. PLEASE NOTE IT IS NOT WISDOM TO APPEAR HARMLESS ALL THE TIME. YOU WILL HARM YOURSELF APPEARING HARMLESS.
I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT FIGHTING OR USING GUN OR WEAPONS.

Let me give an example. If you have someone working for you and the person is fund of lateness. If you have warned the person and yet the latesness persists. Start deducting money from the person's salary. Please don't allow apology to make you change your mind. Even if you worship with the person in the same church keep deducting money. The person must adjust. There are things only correction can change and not apology. People will always ride on you once they know they will go free.

DEFEND YOURSELF AGAINST FAMILIARITY BY BEING UNPREDICTABLE. NB: YOUR PLANS AND SCHEMES ARE MOST POWERFUL WHEN THEY CATCH OTHERS BY SURPRISE. TO TRAVEL FAR IN THE JOURNEY OF LIFE YOU MUST BE UNPREDICTABLE. KNOW WHEN TO ROAR AS A LION AND WHEN TO BLEAT AS A LAMB.

NOTHING BREAKS THE SEIGE OF DISLOYALTY LIKE YOUR UNPREDICTABILITY. BEING UNPREDICTABLE IS A GREAT SKILL YOU MUST MASTER FOR EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT.
