A lot of mariners have gone to so many places and spent so much money trying to appease their marine spirit without achieving any success.

Some even made their case worst after offering the sacrifices and are now frustrated and don't know what else to do.

Then I ask, why is it so? What could be the cause of their sacrifices not being accepted?
Here are some of the reasons:


1. You had s*x with someone else the same day the sacrifice is been done.

2. You were in your menstruation the day the sacrifice is been done.

3. The person that did the sacrifice for you is not truly called to be a Priest or a Priestess and does not have the spiritual ordination of the Ocean Goddess (Offor Ndi Mmiri) to offer sacrifices to marine spirits on behalf of someone else. Pls note that it's only a Priest or Priestess that can mediate between man and spirits. The calling of a Priest (Eze Mmuo) or a Priestess (Dibianwanyi or Ezenwanyi) is spiritual and does not come from any man or woman.

4. You offered the sacrifices to separate yourself from your marine spirit instead of appeasement - You are to appease your marine spirit not to separate.

5. You do not know the name or identity of your marine spirit - So when you get to the river, what name are you going to call?

6. You do not know what your marine spirit actually requires from you- So how do you know the exact items and the number or quantity to bring for the sacrifices?

7. You do not know the terms of your marine covenant - How then will you know things like; Your Holy Day and what to do on that day, when to come to the river for the sacrifices, and how you are suppose to dress when coming?

8. Your name, especially your surname can be a serious barrier - Some people no longer bear the native name that their parents gave to them because they see the name as primitive name or local name Others are making the mistake of bearing only english names e.g Jennifer williams, Chris Barbara as if their ancestors are Oyibo. Yet many others make the mistake of using the name of their immediate father as their surname while their father is still alive. All these are wrong!!! Please always use the surname of your grandfather as your own surname because the Ancestral and Marine covenant upon your head was made by your ancestors, not your immediate father.

9. You did not use your own native language to talk to your spirit when offering the sacrifices - Pls always use your native language whenever you want to communicate with your spirit or pray to your god.

10. Your both legs were not deep into the river when the sacrifices was been offered -From my experience, that's even one of the ways you get to know if the sacrifice is successful or not because most times, a sea creature will come crawling on your legs and no matter how you move your feet or shake your legs, the thing won't leave you alone. It's a sign that your spirit has come to accept the sacrifices from you.

11. You did not bathe in that river after offering your sacrifices. Pls note that for your river work to yield the desired result, it is a MUST that you go completely naked and take a good bath in that river immediately after offering your sacrifices. The person performing the sacrifice for you should excuse himself or herself so you can have your privacy. If you don't know how to swim, please don't go too deep. Just stay where the water will not get beyond your waist, then use your hands to scoop the water all over your body. While bathing, say your prayers and make your request. It's also important that you ensure you do not dry your body with a towel after bathing in the river. Just put on your clothes immediately you finish and let the water dry up on you. Also note that, if the sacrifice was done at night, you are not suppose to take another bath at home that same night. But if the sacrifice was performed early in the morning, you are not to take another bath till the next morning.

12. You had s*x within 7 days after the ritual was performed. Please note that marine spirits are a very jealous spirit, therefore having any s*xual in*******se within 7 days after performing the sacrifice is not advisable.

13. You don't observe your holy day; to keep yourself holy unto your Marine Spirit- If you know you won't obey the terms of your covenant by keeping yourself holy on your holy day, please don't bother going to the river to offer sacrifices because it will sure be a waste of energy, time and resources. Obedience is better than sacrifices!!! And lastly,

14. Do not engage yourself in too much work or thinking on the day you offer your sacrifices, rather; give yourself a good rest, free your mind but pay attention to your dreams so you can hear what the spirit is saying, then follow instructions given to you in your dreams
