THE TALE.

Long-time ago in the Animal Kingdom, a sheep was passing and saw a lion crying inside a cage trapped and the lion begged the sheep to save him with a promise not to kill and eat it but the sheep refused. After much persuasion and for the sheep's gullibility it opened the cage for the lion.

Now the lion was very hungry having stayed in the cage for days without food. It quickly grabbed the sheep to kill and eat but the sheep reminded him of his promise. They were still there arguing when other animals came passing and they sought to know what happened. Both the lion and the sheep narrated their own side of the story but because of fear and in trying to gain Favour in the sight of the lion, all the animals took side with the lion except the Tortoise who claim not to understand the whole scenario.

Now the Tortoise asked the lion to show them where he was before the sheep rescued him, he pointed at the cage. He asked again, "were you inside or outside when the sheep arrived"? The lion said he was inside. The tortoise again said, "ok, enter let’s see how difficult it could be inside". The lion entered and the tortoise locked him back inside.

In amazement, the other animals asked tortoise "why" and he replied "if we allow him to eat the sheep today, he will still go hungry tomorrow and we don't know the next amongst us to be eaten tomorrow.

The Moral of this tale
Don't support evil today because it doesn't affect you directly, tomorrow it could be your turn.

What would you say about this brave king?

Rebecca Adebimpe Adekola a.k.a Ireti | One Nigerian Actress That Should Not Be Forgotten In The HISTORY Of Nollywood Film Industry.

Ireti was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where she also grew up. She was a producer, film writer, director and an outstanding actress. Unknown to many, her younger relative, Opeyemi (not Odunlade) Adekola is also an actor and was inspired to take to the thespian art because of his late aunty. While speaking with Naijarchives, Mr. Opeyemi Ohiomare Adekola explained that the late Ireti and his own dad were cousins. Mr. Adekola also revealed to us that while both Odunlade Adekola and their family are both from Oyo State, they hail from different parts: Ireti’s own are from Ogbomosho while Odunlade Adekola is from Ibadan. I guess that lays to rest the popular rumour that Odunlade Adekola is Ireti’s younger brother. While an actress, the late Ireti was known for starring in many flicks alongside Taiwo Hassan aka Ogogo Omokulodo, also one of Nigeria’s most well-known actors in the Yoruba genre of Nollywood..

Following her death, there was a spontaneous outpouring of grief across the nation. On the 30th September, 2002, her body in a glistening white coffin was on display for her last public appearance at the National Theatre, Iganmu Lagos before her burial. Ireti mentored many actress in her lifetime, grooming them to become stars in their own right, one of whom is Bisi-Ibidapo Obe aka Omo Logba Logba. Ireti was also the role model for Ibironke Ojo aka Ronke Oshodi-Oke..

HOW DID SHE GET THE NAME ‘IRETI’?
In 1993, Jide Kosoko released a movie titled Asiri Nla and in it, she acted the role of Ireti, and that was how the name stuck..

HER DEATH
Rebecca Adebimpe Adekola died after a brief illness due to some complications suspected to be from typhoid fever. She gave up the ghost at Unity Hospital, a private medical center in Surulere, Lagos State..

In October 2012, ten years after she died, the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) decided to launch the Ireti Adekola Foundation (IAF) at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos to immortalize her name. The foundation was established to take care of single mothers and mentor upcoming and talented actors and actresses..

In the 1990s before the likes of Jenifa and the rest, Nigerian actress, Rebecca Adebimpe Adekola graced the screen of millions across the nation, especially lovers of Yoruba movies. Popularly known as Ireti, she dazzled many with her acting skills until her death on Friday, 27th September, 2002. The following are some of the movies she appeared in:.
-IKE OWO
-AGBA AKIN
-OLAONIRAN
-23/24 LORO ILE AYE
-AYE AWA OBINRIN (the last movie she appeared in before her demise)
ALAMU S’ENIYAN
-ENIKAN O LAYE
-EDUNJOBI (brought her to limelight)
-AFINJU ALAPATA
-SIKIRA EREKO

Sis, you’re a screen goddess and one of the few most sought after relatively younger actresses who made Nollywood attractive in the late 1990s. Sis, you’re was part of the generation of actors who made home videos popular in the 1990s. .

Your death caused havoc and it’s was unbearable lost till today. I’m celebrating you today as one of the greatest of all time in movie industry. .

Sleep well our beloved Rebecca Adebimpe Adekola. You’ll forever be remembered. We love you but God loves you most.

The story of Kurunmi is one that draws tears from the eyes of people who feel pity for a man who stood firm for tradition.

There was a time in the history of Yoruba where the heir to the throne is killed whenever the king dies. This tradition came about because it was discovered that a lot of princes killed their fathers so they could ascend the throne and become king instead.

It was believed that if the heirs were killed alongside their fathers, kings would live longer on the throne.

During this period, Alaafin Atiba was the paramount ruler of the Oyo empire, and he appointed Kurunmi, the son of Esiele as the Aare-ona-Kakanfo ( the generalissimo of the whole Yoruba warriors).

As it was with tradition, a king and an Aare-ona-Kakanfo cannot stay in the same town because their wield similar powers, so Kurunmi was assigned to Ijaiye, where he was given the power to lord over.

One day, Alaafin Atiba summoned the kings and lords of the neighboring towns and told them he wished to change tradition. Present at the meeting were kings like the Timi of Ede, Balogun Ibikunle of Ibadan, and Kurunmi himself.

When they were seated, Atiba came down from his throne and held the sword of Ogun (the Yoruba god of iron) in his right hand, and the bolt of Sango (the Yoruba god of lightning and thunder) in his left. He charged the royalties present to swear by the sword and bolt that after his death, his son Aremo Adelu will be made king after his demise.

Kurunmi disagreed immediately, and he reminded Alaafin Atiba that according to the tradition, the moment Atiba does, his son Adelu must follow suit. Other royalties tried to persuade Kurunmi, but he was adamant. When he couldn't convince them, he walked out in anger and headed for Ijaiye.

The other kings and chiefs went home to their people to inform them of the latest developments. When Balogun Ibikunle of Ibadan told his chiefs the news, one of the chiefs Basorun Ogunmola took the matter up and suggested they wage war against Kurunmi.

Kurunmi had once captured Ogunmola who had a secret affair with his wife. He captured him, tied him to a stake like a goat and fed him ashes as food. As a form of revenge, Ogunmola proposed war against Kurunmi.

Alaafin Atiba sent emissaries to Kurunmi to change his mind, but he remained adamant, and when Alaafin Atiba saw that he would not change his mind, he sent two calabash bowls to Kurunmi. One of the calabashes contained an effigy of a pair of twins (Yoruba symbol of peace), while the other calabash contained gunpowder (Yoruba symbol of war).

Kurunmi immediately chose war and sent the emissaries back to Atiba. Immediately, Kurunmi summoned his chief warrior Balogun Ogunkoroju and told him to prepare for war.

As part of the preparations for war, Kurunmi consulted the oracle, and the oracle warned him not to go to war with Ibadan because he would lose the war. Kurunmi was not going to have any of it, and he pestered the oracle to tell him what to do to win the war.

The oracle then told Kurunmi that in order for him not to lose the war, he must not cross the River Ose, which was the boundary between Ijaiye and Ibadan. Kurunmi agreed, and went ahead to plan for the war against Ibadan.

While Kurunmi was making preparations, the Ibadan warriors, led by Ogunmola went to meet the people of Ęgba who were said to possess very powerful charms.

The Ęgba people then prepared a potent charm called Eedi (a charm that causes someone or a group of people to ignore warnings or dare something that will harm them). The Eedi was set out to the River Ose so that the Ijaiye warriors will be tempted to cross the river.

When the war came, Kurunmi sent his five sons to war to fight the Ibadan people. During the face-off, Ijaiye warriors soundly defeated the Ibadan warriors, and the remaining Ibadan warriors fled back, crossing the River Ose.

Unfortunately for Kurunmi, his warriors fell to the potency of the Eedi, and they crossed the River Ose, believing that they had momentum, and that they could chase the Ibadan soldiers far away.

Immediately they crossed the river, their charms failed them, and they were killed in thousands by the warriors of Ibadan who had set a trap for them. Kurunmi suffered heavy losses, and lost all his five sons in the war.

Basorun Ogunmola mocked him and sent a message to him that he was coming for his head. On hearing the news of the death of his sons and his men, Kurunmi became very devastated and suicidal, but while he grieved, he held on to his belief that tradition remains tradition, and that he does not regret standing firm in the face of corruption.

Kurunmi committed su***de by taking poison, and he was thrown into the river Ose according to his wishes so that Basorun Ogunmola won't have the luxury of cutting his head and hanging it in shame.

The Story Of Lagbaja And Why He Covers His Face With A Mask

Bisade Ologunde, known professionally as Lagbaja is a Nigerian musician and multi-instrumentalist known for his unique style of music, which blends Afrobeat, highlife, and traditional Yoruba music. He is also recognized for his distinct identity: he always performs wearing a mask that covers his entire face.

Lagbaja can also be interpreted as ” Faceless One” or ” Anonymous. ” He has never performed with his face exposed, which has piqued the interest of many fans. As a result, it’s no surprise that Lagbaja s true identity is a hot topic on the internet.

Bisade Olugunde was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on January 16, 1960. He is from Kwara state’s Oyun local government area; little is known about his early life, but he was raised as a Baptist. During his lifetime, his father served as a Baptist deacon. He had a typical Nigerian boyhood, growing up in a time when the country had only recently earned independence and things were much better than they are now. Deacon D. A Olugunde, his father, passed away in 2012.

He worked for the Kwara state government as a retired civil servant. His father worked in the cabinet of Cornell David Bamingboye Kwara state’s first military administration. On his mother’s identity, no information is publicly available.

Lagbaja is well educated, although it is unknown which schools he attended; nevertheless, it was later disclosed that he received his tertiary education from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife. To keep his identity disguised, much about the man is kept hidden from the public eye. Lagbaja rose to prominence through music, and he is noted for his distinct sound and fashion sense. In the early 1990s, he began his musical career.

The saxophone is Lagbaja’ s favorite instrument, which he taught himself. In 1991, he created his first modest band in Lagos, Nigeria, after mastering the saxophone. The band was a regular performer at Lagos’ Sea Garden venue. Their music was influenced by 1960s high life music as well as Western jazz percussion instruments like the talking drum and congas, which featured significantly in their tunes.

The band had built up enough local support and was earning gigs at the French Institute after performing at the Sea Garden for a period. The band’ s first album, ” The Colours Of The Rhythm, ” was published in 1992. He continued to release music after that, but his breakthrough came in 2000 with the release of the double album ” We and Me. ”

The playlist was harsh in its criticism of Nigerian politicians and asked that they be transparent. It also urged unity and brotherhood in the country. Ego Iheanacho accompanied him on the vocals for the tunes. The album’ s popularity spurred him to create more, and his songs were well received by fans at the time. Lagbaja is currently married with children, however there are no images of his wife online. His wife’ s identity is a well guarded secret, so those hoping for photos of Lagbaja’ s wife will be disappointed.

You won’ t discover much information about his children, however Moyosade, one of his daughters, is well- known. In the year 2013, Moyosade married Olamide Oblilana in Opebi, Lagos. The ceremony was attended by Lagbaja without his mask, but visitors were not allowed to take photographs. Moyosade is believed to work for a company in the United States as a management specialist. She earned a master’ s degree in business administration from Pennsylvania State University.

Without a doubt, Lagbaja has found success as a musician and will be remembered as one of Nigeria’ s musical superstars. He and his family now reside in Manhattan, New York City, in the United States. A source revealed to NaijaGists the reason why Lagbaja never unmask his face.

According to the source: “This is not Lagbaja, I know him. Why are you even trying to unmask him? He has his reasons for wearing the mask. He used to be in the choir in one Baptist Church in Ilorin and his parents are prominent Baptist members. His family opposed his decision to sing that kind of music. They believed that he wanted to disgrace them because of their position in the church. That was why he put the mask”. The Ologundes are from Ijagbo near Offa in Kwara State.

The mask has become a significant part of Lagbaja's persona and brand, attracting curiosity and intrigue from his fans. Lagbaja's decision to cover his face with a mask serves multiple purposes, combining artistic expression, social commentary, and personal privacy.

Artistic Expression: The mask allows Lagbaja to create a mysterious and enigmatic persona. It adds an element of intrigue to his performances and music, captivating audiences and drawing attention to his unique style. By concealing his face, Lagbaja shifts the focus onto his music, emphasizing the universality of his message rather than his individual identity.

Social Commentary: Lagbaja's mask serves as a symbol of anonymity and represents the facelessness of the common man. He uses it as a form of protest against societal issues and corruption in Nigeria. Through his music and performances, Lagbaja often addresses themes of social inequality, political oppression, and the struggles faced by ordinary people. The mask represents the voiceless and marginalized, giving them a platform to be heard.

Personal Privacy: By wearing the mask, Lagbaja is able to maintain his privacy and separate his personal life from his public persona. He can freely express himself artistically without the intrusion of media or public scrutiny. The mask allows him to retain a sense of anonymity and control over his public image.

Lagbaja's decision to cover his face with a mask has contributed to his popularity and made him an iconic figure in Nigerian music. The mask serves as a powerful symbol, representing both artistic expression and social commentary, while allowing Lagbaja to maintain his privacy and focus on the message of his music.

Every man supporting Hakimi and his mother is now labeled a broke man.

Every man sympathizing with or supporting Hakimi's wife is now called a billionaire.

All this by Jezebelic wvmen who have nothing to their names except their father's wealth and/or their v-agina.

They are not even self-made like Hakimi and the rest.

These Jezebelic wvmen can easily tell a man's financial standing and the difference between a broke man and a rich man by merely looking at his position on public issue.

Yet, these same wvmen believe that they hold the key to a man's success that by just marrying them, a man can become successful.
