*HRA MEETS STAKEHOLDERS IN THE ACADEMIC CIRCLE IN OJUWOYE PRIMARY SCHOOL*
Chairman, Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala, today met with the stakeholders in the education sector in Ojuwoye Primary School, Damengoro.
This was in continuation of his interaction with the same sector which was held yesterday at Biney Memorial Primary School in Mashalasi.
The Education Secretary Princess Olufemi Akinlude welcomed all the stakeholders to the event.
She said the meeting was held to interact with the Chairman of the council and to give the stakeholder opportunity to request their needs in various schools within the LCDA.
A parent, Mrs. Sherifat Ogunlade, complained that pupils are used for sanitation exercises in the schools. She said something must be done about this.
Mrs. Faith Nwanochu thanked the government for providing books for the pupils.
She said her children were attending private school before but she transfered them to a government school having observed the academic progress of those who attend public school.
Mrs. Nwanochu said she had since been grateful for the government for the quality education being given her children.
Nwanochu added that there are more qualified teachers in the public schools than the private ones.
She, however, requested that more teachers be employed in government schools as there is shortage of teachers.
Mrs. Fatima Abubakar whose child attends Nusaraudeen Primary School said the school also has shortage of teachers.
Mrs. Olaleye of St. Michael Primary school said there was need for some structure in the school to be repaired.
Responding, Hon. Ajala said government would employ ad-hoc staff within first six months in office and these sets of teachers would have the first opportunity to be presented whenever state government intends to employ them properly.
He also said maintenance staff will be employed into all the public primary schools within the LCDA in the first six months in office so pupils will not be used for sanitation again.
On request for secondary schools around the area, he said the effort on it had started when his predecessor, Aremo Adeyemi Ali, was in the office, while he was his deputy . He therefore promised to intensify efforts on the request.
HRA said his government will engage the power provider in the area of power to secure a social tariff for all the schools in the LCDA in order to reduce the bills that will be brought to the schools.
The Chairman also promised that his government will foot the electricity bills in all the public primary schools within the LCDA.
He promised that all public primary schools will be provided with boreholes and generating sets to power them. Fuel will also be provided for them, he said.
He used the opportunity to announce a health care program tagged "Odiolowo-Olowo free health Mission" with Mobile Clinic Vehicle with modern health facility to cater for the old ones who may not have the energy to go to the Health Centre.
He equally announced the special vehicles for the Special Schools in the area to take the people with pupils with disabilities from home to the school and back to their homes.
Hon. Ajala also said all the public schools within the LCDA will be provided with Computer Centers.
He called on the people at the event to vote for all the candidates as councilors in their various wards. He said this will help his government to perform greatly.
He seized the opportunity to announce the free health programs
this Saturday 3rd July, 2021 at the Palace of Late Fatai Irawo.
He called on the people with different ailments to go for free checkups, treatment and advice on their health.
Hon. Ajala used the opportunity to introduce his running mate, Vice Hon. Seyi Jakande, and all the candidates who are contesting as councilors in various wards.
He told the gathering that they should ensure they vote for all the councilors as this will help him in fulfilling all his campaign promises.
