REAL NIGERIAN.

“This week, a video went viral showing an Uber driver on a dispatch call being mistreated by an influential individual. The driver’s resilience and calm in the face of provocation, without retaliating, inspired many Nigerians to speak out against the injustice. This collective response ultimately led the attacker to issue a public apology for his behavior.”

“To all Nigerians who stood up against the maltreatment of the Uber driver assaulted in the course of his duty, you have exemplified the duty of care. At National Orientation Agency we celebrate you as the Nigerian of the Week. ”

Theme: Mental Health At Work

Emphasising the critical link between mental health and the workplace, safe and healthy working environments can protect mental well-being. Conversely, harmful conditions—such as stigma, discrimination, harassment, and poor working standards—pose significant risks to mental health, diminishing overall quality of life and affecting participation and productivity at work. With 60% of the global population in the workforce, urgent measures are required to minimise these risks and safeguard mental health in the workplace. Governments, employers, workers’ organizations, and other stakeholders must collaborate to enhance mental health support and protection at work.
