AS-SUTRAH
It is recommended for a Muslim to place a barrier before himself when saying his Salah. This barrier is called "sutrah" in Arabic.
The messenger of Allah was reported to have said: ‘When one of you prays, let him pray facing a Sutrah and let him draw close to it and not let anyone pass in front of him .’
-It should be an arm's length or 2/3 of a cubit that's the size of a 30cm ruler in height.
- Wideness is not required. Our old folks placed more emphasis on the wideness than the height, this is a misunderstanding. The sahabah said they used even an arrow, as thin as it is.
-It should be placed very close to the praying person. This so as not to give room for easy passage of people.
-The sutrah of the Imam suffices for the congregation in a jamā'ah.
- Contrary to many people's belief,(Don't pray on me, I'm not a dead body) you can sit in front of someone who's praying. In fact you can serve as his/her sutrah. What you shouldn't do is pass before a praying person. So if you're sitting, sit till the person completes his prayers.

Takbīratul-ihram
This is the first Allahu-akbar said to mark the commencement of a Salah. This takbir is so important that if one doesn't say it,the prayer has not commenced, even if one is doing ruku' and sujūd.
For instance two friends are seeking admission into the university. Friend A wrote JAMB, passed and was given admission. He started attending lectures and taking tests and exams. Friend B on the other hand didn't write JAMB and was not offered admission, yet he attended lectures and took tests. We all know that Friend B is just playing, even if he writes exams and gets A's all through, he won't be given any results or certificate. His schooling hasn't commenced, it has to start with the admission. Takbīratul-ihram in this case is like your admission letter, without it, ALL other efforts go to waste.
To say takbīratul-ihram, take note of the following.
1. It is said "Allahu akbar"
2. The two hands are raised to the level of your ears.
3. It must be said while standing upright.
4. It should be said in a calm state.
Someone rushing to join the Salah when the imam is already going to ruku', is expected to stand upright, say the takbīratul-ihram first, before saying a second takbir to go to ruku'. All those people that say one takbir while going to bow for ruku' are not doing it right. The takbīratul-ihram should be distinct from all other takbīrāt.
Today is the day of assalatu fun annabi. No, not the one we gather ourselves and sing and dance but the one we send peace and blessings on our noble master sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam as recommended by him.
Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam “Increase your supplications for me on the day and night of Friday. Whoever blesses me once, Allah will bless him ten times.”
And another
"...so send a great deal of blessings upon me (on Friday), for your blessings will be shown to me.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, how will our blessings upon you be shown to you when you have turned to dust?” He said, “Allah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets.” - Abu Dawud
E yombo annabi jamaa!
A parent sent me this about two weeks ago, and it went really deep for me. Let's give our children islamic knowledge, and let's have a continuity plan, that even if we're no more, they won't stop. May Allah grant you a fruitful, long life Abu Haneefah. May He grant same to all Dārul-arqam parents and all that will say Anin to the prayer.

That Nutmeg is an intoxicant?
Although, the quantity being used to spice food might not intoxicate but so far a large amount of it can intoxicate, a small dose is also harām.
"Nutmeg apparently acts as an intoxicant through its depressor effect on the central nervous system. Reactions to nutmeg vary from no effects to full-blown hallucinogenic experiences like those caused by hashish or L*D. Distortions of time and space with feelings of unreality have been reported"
sciencedirect.com
Hadith related by Abdullah ibn 'Umar in Sunan Ibn Majah:
“Every intoxicant is unlawful and whatever causes intoxication in large amounts, a small amount of it is (also) unlawful.”
May Allah protect us.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD– SALLALLAHU'ALAYHI WASALLAM PART 1
In the city of Makkah, where Prophets Ibrahim and Isma’il built the house of Allah - the Ka’bah, the people had left the worship of Allah, they only worshipped idols in the house of Allah. Many people came from far and near to perform pilgrimage every year as performed by the old prophets. The descendants of Ismail were still the custodians of the Ka’bah and from generation to generation, they chose a leader among their elders. This place gave people the opportunity to buy, sell and make profit. All these activities boosted the economy of Makkah.
The King of Yemen at this time was a man named Abraha, he was jealous of the economy of Makkah and he wanted such for his city too. So he decided to build a bigger and more beautiful temple so as to attract people at the time of pilgrimage. He did and he was confident that the people would abandon Makkah and come to Yemen that year. To his surprise, no one came to Yemen, everyone still went to Makkah. Abraha was very angry about this and he decided that he would wage a war against Makkah and destroy the Ka’bah. That way, if people did not have any Ka’bah to go to the following year, they would come to Yemen.
Abraha gathered his army of men and elephants and a message was sent to the Makkan people to expect war. Abdulmuttalib was the leader back then in Makkah, he got worried about Abraha’s threat of war and so went to the Ka’bah to pray to Allah to protect the legacy of His prophets Ibrahim and Isma’il. Then he instructed the people to leave Makkah and stay in some valleys close by. When Abraha and his soldiers advanced to destroy the Ka’bah, Allah sent the abaabil birds to pick hot stones from the fire of sijjin and drop it on their heads. Each one touched by the hot stones melted and died. Others seeing what was happening, took to their heels. And that was how Allah himself protected His house, the Ka’bah.
After that battle, one of Abdulmuttalib’s sons, Abdullah who just got married became ill, it was thought to be a brief illness but Abdullah died. His pregnant wife, Aminah became very sad about the death of her husband. The unfortunate occurrence affected her so much. Few months later, she gave birth to a baby boy, Abudillah’s son. It was a very good news for the family of Abdulmuttalib. Out of happiness, one of the baby’s uncle named Abu Lahab freed the slave girl that brought him the good news. The grandfather, Abdulmuttalib was exceptionally happy too, he named his grandson Muhammad. The people asked why he gave him such name and not one of the names known with their fathers. He said he wanted him to be praised in the earth and up to the heavens hence the choice.

That as a Muslim, you should write a will and update it at most every three nights.
A will in Islam doesn't contain how your estate will be shared, that is already taken care of by Allah in the qur'an. However it's content should include the people you owe, the people that owe you, the people you want to gift after your death.
Note: You can not gift someone who is already entitled to inherit from you, and you can't gift more than one-third of your property.
Abdullah ibn 'Umar used to update his will every night and he used to keep it under his pillow.
We are advised to keep it where it won't easily get lost, at the same time where our family will easily access it after our demise.
May Allah grant us a fruitful long life.

Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”

Away from teaching Hadith, Qur'an memorization, and Qur'an recitation to our Scholars. By requiring children to put what they have learned into practice, we also increase the enjoyment of learning.
Here is a project from one of our young scholar after learning the above hadith, He is five years old and is, in his own words and ours, building a mosque for Allah.
Would you like your child to learn Islamic morals in addition to memorizing the Qur'an? Would you like your child to learn more than just recitation?
Then, our academy is the best choice for you, get in touch with us and let's work together to help your child be trained in the ways of his Lord.
Several years ago, you wanted to begin learning about your religion, but you had just been accepted into the university and needed to give your first year your all. As a result, you decided that the second year would be the best time to get started.
Year 2 came, but you have a ton of homework and tests to contend with; "year 2 isn't as easy as I had thought"; perhaps I should start during my finals; the academic workloads then would be more easy; and if I couldn't start then, my service year would be the best time; I will have more free time then.
Four years later,
You still haven't started learning about your Deen, you still don't know how to correctly recite the Qur'an, and you still have trouble recognizing the Arabic letters.
It's past time for you to give up on waiting for the ideal moment and simply get started.
If not now,then when?
You shouldn't wait until you are about to be buried before learning the injunctions of your faith.
Send us a direct Message and let's get you started TODAY. Our qualified instructors are ready to guide you.
