Hello everyone. Can you see this? If you can, kindly drop a comment below.
WHY YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW THE CUT-OFF MARK.
Almost everyday, a lot of university applicants message me regarding the cut-off mark of the courses they intend applying. I do tell them the ones I know but if I don't know about it, I'll as well inform them I don't.
But what's the point of this post?
The main point I want to bring out of this is for you to forget about the cut-off mark if you intend scoring high in the upcoming UTME exam. If you continue focusing on the cut-off mark, it will make you feel relaxed and you won't really work hard to reach your peak.
In the University of Ilorin for example, the JAMB cut-off mark for Medicine is 260 but I tell you today that it's very rare to see anyone with 260 JAMB score in Medicine and Surgery department.
Even though the cut-off mark is 260. The reason being that, a lot of candidates will surely score above 260 and then there's limited space for admission into the Medicine programme, therefore those who scored 260 will be in the bottom in descending order of JAMB scores.
This will eventually lead to them not getting admitted even though their score is same as the cut-off mark or a little above.
This is a subtle reminder to all JAMB candidates out there vying for competitive courses to look beyond the cut-off mark and score as high as possible in the upcoming UTME exam.
I wish you the best.

What to expect from JAMB on August 31st.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has set aside the 31st of August as the day she will announce the 2021 JAMB cut-off mark.
What does this implies?
It means that the minimum score a candidate must obtain before they can be admitted into any tertiary institution in Nigeria.
Last year's cut-off mark was 160 for universities, 120 for Polytechnics and 100 for colleges of Education.
Does this means that candidate who scored above the cutoff mark will automatically be admitted??
This doesn't mean that scoring above the cutoff will automatically grant you admission into any tertiary institution. There are a lot of factors that affects a candidate being admitted. I will make post on that in the future. Just keep your fingers crossed.
What if I didn't meet the cut-off mark for university after the cut-off mark has been released?
Well, there are a number of options to take.
1. If your mark is worth studying in a polytechnic, you can just make a change of course while making the polytechnic you want to apply as first choice. Ditto for colleges of Education.
2. You can apply IJMB or JUPEB, I will discuss the nitty gritty of this programmes some other time.
3. You can apply to school of remedial studies. This is a program conducted by the school you want to apply for a year after which you will be admitted provided you have a good result. This program will also be in detailed form next time.
4. Stay at home and prepare for another year jamb. This is the last option I will give to anyone because being alone studying is one of the ways to lose confidence and motivation. Except you're going to be in the midst of people who are also very serious academically, you won't really study much because of the abundance of distractions around.
I wish you all the very best.

GOT A LOW JAMB SCORE? DO THIS NOW!!!
EPISODE ONE
This year's UTME examination is unarguably the worst in recent years. With about 0.06% of the total candidates scoring 300 and above. A lot of candidates are confused and devastated with the outcome of the examination.
Many are confused as to what step to take next. In this article, I will go through some of the right steps to take as an higher Institution applicants.
1. Wait for this year's UTME cut-off mark to be announced: Every year, JAMB usually hold a meeting where her cut off point is decided. We can't tell what it will be right now but we have to patiently await the announcement.
Ok, Hudhaifa, what if after the announcement,I didn't meet the cut off mark for my first choice Institution but it's okay for a polytechnic?
Then do this.
2. You shouldn't waste the score by sitting at home. Apply a polytechnic. But Hudhaifa, I don't like polytechnics. You have to break this stereotype you have against polytechnics. A lot of candidates view polytechnic as a place meant for the unserious students. I can boldly tell you today that a number of polytechnic graduates are better off than some university graduates. This days, it's no longer about the school you attended but what you can diligently do.
Applying a polytechnic is not a sin neither is it a curse. A lot of candidates tend not to see the bigger picture of the race. I know a number of processors in my school that started off from college of education but today they have become professors. They just focused on the goal not minding which route will get them there.
Applying polytechnic will also make it easy for you to get admitted into 200Level through Direct Entry (D.E) if you are eventually through with your National Diploma (N.D) program from the polytechnic.
3. Apply IJMB/JUPEB: IJMB means Interim Joint Matriculation Board. JUPEB is also another program similar to IJMB. These programs are offered for about 9 months to a year. It's a program which will make it possible for a candidate to get admitted to 200Level directly. Unlike JAMB,the result is useful after a year. This program is offered by a lot of educational agencies out there so beware of scammers masquerading as though they offer the program.
A friend of mine was not admitted to her course in a prestigious university but she proceeded to offer IJMB for a year, passed excellently and she's now in 200L with her mates who were admitted studying her preferred course. This shows that the method works absolutely well.
I hope you enjoyed the content of this article. Kindly share to all university applicants out there, perhaps it might help someone out there.
Do you know that in the university, there are two faculties which have just a department in them each.
Let's make us of faculty of engineering as an example. This faculty consists of departments like mechanism, electrical, metallurgical, agricultural engineering etc. This means that the faculty has more than one department in it.
But in this video,I go through the faculty that has just one department in them each.

Three (3) factors to consider before applying to a Nigerian University.
Episode one
During registration for the UTME examination, all candidates applied various institutions of their choice.
In this day and age, applying to a Nigerian University is a very great hurdle and you have to consider stacking the odds in your favour in order to be admitted into the university of your choice.
The first criteria to put into consideration is University accreditation.
Accreditation simply means a "go-ahead" given to a body to operate.
The Nigerian Universities commission (NUC) is the body which has the right to accredit universities in Nigeria.
There are a number of universities operating which aren't accredited by the NUC. Applying such university means by the end of the day, your certificate won't be recognized because the school you graduated from isn't recognized by the NUC.
It will cause a lot of havoc later in life especially if you wanted to proceed with your second degree (Masters), you will be prevented from doing your masters because the school you graduated from isn't recognized.
Although a lot of federal and state universities are accredited but some especially private universities are not yet accredited and they are operating is not proper.
The second criteria is course accreditation.
Just as there's university accreditation, there's also course accreditation. This simply means a go-ahead given to the course to be offered in the school.
This is important especially for professional courses e.g Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Law etc. The body incharge of accrediting the study of medical courses in Nigeria is Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
If this body didn't accredit medical courses in a particular school, it's not proper to study in such school because you will be prevented from writing some professional examinations and some board examination. I'll write about some peculiar examples in the future.
If you eventually graduate, you won't be licensed by this body thereby preventing you from practicing your profession.
The third criteria is availability of equipment and resources.
One reason why I discourage candidates from applying newly created universities is the fact that most of this schools don't have the necessary equipment and resources for tutoring. Some schools don't have facilities e.g standard library, well equipped laboratories etc. A student recently was discussing his university to me about how there's lack of facilities to teach and how he plans on applying another university. It's one thing to be admitted, it's another thing to be admitted to a well established school.
I hope you gained something from this. Kindly share if you enjoyed the content. It might help someone out there.
Until next time.
5 TOP TIPS ON HOW TO PASS JAMB EASILY!!!
In less than a week, the most applied examination organized by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Nigeria will commence across all states in the country.
The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates applying to tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
In this article, I will be listing some tips which are helpful in passing your UTME examination.
5. Use of English is underrated.
Use of English is the most important subject for all candidates applying to tertiary institutions in Nigeria. A lot of candidates make the mistake of studying this subject at the eleventh hour. They have a notion that since they do converse with English language in their day to day activities then there is no need studying English.
This assumption is wrong as a lot of us commit blunders while speaking. Use of English in JAMB won't only test your knowledge of the English language but also challenge you to prove what you think is right.
No wonder a lot of candidates don't perform well in this subject because they have overlooked the subject and didn't pay attention to the nitty gritty details in it.
4. JAMB past questions are overrated.
A lot of candidates have the notion that JAMB don't have any new questions and they focus only on past questions thinking all JAMB would do is to extract past questions and set it as their examination. It's fine to study past questions and it's highly recommended but the problem is the moment you focus ONLY on past questions, then you are setting up yourself for failure.
Although JAMB repeat past questions but they don't repeat questions verbatim, they modify the questions thereby changing the concepts and values and you can only get the right option if you have a good understanding of the subject.
3. Use JAMB recommended textbooks.
There are no substitute for textbooks when preparing for JAMB. Although there are a lot of textbooks out there but JAMB recommended textbooks are by far the best. It's very pertinent upon a candidate to be selective about textbooks. Studying textbooks that are not recommended by JAMB may cost you a lot - although some of them are good.
2. Use JAMB syllabus.
The benefits of studying with JAMB syllabus is that it will serve as an accountant partner and make you productive. It will ensure you track your progress well and prevent you from studying unnecessary details.
Ensure you are studying with the updated syllabus and not the outdated one so you don't study irrelevant topics.
1. Be computer literate.
Be acquainted with the computer system. Report any malfunctioning you notice to the invigilator. Ensure you are through with everything totally before you submit.
Don't be anxious if you aren't getting the right options.
I hope this beautiful tip helps.
