TAKE NOTE AS AN IMPORTER!

Dearest importers, are you aware of the China Public Holiday 2023 Schedule?

Just in case you are not aware, Majority of China Suppliers and China Shipping Companies are temporarily closed for the Spring Festive Holiday.

The Holiday lasts for 9 days starting from January 21-29. So just in case you are planning to buy goods during this period, I’ll strongly advise you to hold on until the Holiday ends.

But if you insist on buying the goods, just be aware that you’ll be getting your goods late around February or March and you’ll hardly find a reliable shipping company to ship your goods with because most of them are currently on Spring Festive Holiday.

Especially if you are a newbie in importation business, I know how excited you would want to start importing your goods from China, but I implore you to please wait till the end of the Holiday.

And after the end of the holiday, before you pay any supplier for any goods, always remember to firstly chat him up asking if the products you’re paying for is available, ask him for the live video of the product for more assurance.

How many people have visited your Instagram page in the past 30 days? If you’ve been in business for any number of months, you’ve probably been told at least once, “that to make massive sales online, then you need to get more visible!” Visibility builds your brand awareness, so that people know who you are, and the problem your products solve. To grow your business faster in 2023, then run Facebook/Instagram ads to drive potential customers to your business page.

Custom clearance is the process of getting permission from the associated government agency to either move goods out of a country (export) or bring goods into the country (import).

Whenever you decide to start an importation business, then you should be aware that your goods would pass through the custom clearance process.

This process is handled by the custom departments of your country. The customs department charges your shipping company a token for the clearance of your goods at the airport upon it arrival. And this is what we call “Customs clearance fee”.

Immediately your shipping company settles the bills, you are going to receive a pickup message from your shipping company that your goods have arrived and they’ve cleared it at the airport, that you should visit their warehouse in Lagos/Kano for pickup or you ask them to waybill the goods to your location.

The pickup message also consists of the total cost of your shipping fee, and the clearance fee. Your shipping and the custom clearance fee is calculated based on the total weight of your goods.

And you need to pay your shipping company this money before accessing your goods.

Note; The waybill of your goods to your location demands for another payment. This payment belongs to the driver bringing the goods to your location.
