Transforming Nigeria: A Path to Overcome Hardship

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

Today, I would like to discuss a pressing issue that affects us all in Nigeria - the hardship we face in our society. While it may seem daunting, it is essential to remember that positive change is possible. As Muslims, we can draw inspiration from the Quran and Hadith to guide us toward a brighter future.

I. The Role of Integrity and Honesty:

One of the fundamental principles emphasized in both the Quran and Hadith is the importance of honesty and integrity. In Surah Al-Mutaffifin (Chapter 83, Verse 1-3), Allah condemns those who give less than what is due when measuring or weighing. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also emphasized the significance of honesty in various Hadith.

Quoting the Prophet’s words: “The one who cheats is not one of us” (Sahih Muslim).

To bring about positive change, we must:

1. Stop cheating among ourselves:Whether in business transactions, daily interactions, or any aspect of life, cheating erodes trust within society. Upholding honesty and integrity is crucial to creating a just and prosperous community.

II. Seeking Forgiveness:

In the Quran, Allah encourages believers to seek His forgiveness continually. In Surah Al-Zumar (Chapter 39, Verse 53), Allah says: “Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’”

To effect change, we must:

2. Seek forgiveness for our wrongdoings:Acknowledging our mistakes and seeking forgiveness not only cleanses our hearts but also strengthens our commitment to living a righteous life.

III. Daily Dua and Following the Sunnah:

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has provided us with a wealth of guidance through his Sunnah (traditions) and Duas (supplications). These are powerful tools that can help us navigate through life’s challenges.

To bring about change, we must:

Embrace the daily Duas guided by our Noble Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W):The daily Duas, such as the morning and evening Duas, serve as a spiritual shield and a source of protection from various trials, including oppression and dishonesty. Reciting these Duas reinforces our faith and helps us stay on the right path.

IV. Helping Ourselves and Others:

In addition to personal development, Islam encourages us to extend our positive influence to those around us.

To effect positive change, we must:

4. Engage in Askar for self-protection:The recitation of specific Duas, like the Ayatul Kursi and Surah Al-Ikhlas, can provide protection from harm. By protecting ourselves, we create an environment where individuals are less likely to engage in cheating, scamming, kidnapping, and other unlawful activities.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, it is within our power as Muslims in Nigeria to change the present situation of hardship. By upholding honesty, seeking forgiveness, embracing the Sunnah and Duas, and helping both ourselves and others, we can create a society free from the scourge of cheating, scams, and violence. Let us remember the teachings of our faith and strive to be agents of positive change in our beloved country.

May Allah guide us and grant us the strength to make Nigeria a better place for all.

(Human)Number of Verses: 31
(The Arabic meaning of 'Insan' is 'Human'. In the English language the words 'mankind' and 'man' are also used for 'Human' and we have used 'man' in the text.)
Sūra al-Insān (Arabic: ﺳﻮﺭﺓ ﺍﻹﻧﺴﺎﻥ ) or Sūra Hal Atā ( ﺳﻮﺭﺓ ﻫﻞ ﺃﺗﯽ ) or Sūra al-Dahr ( ﺳﻮﺭﺓ ﺍﻟﺪﻫﺮ ) is the seventy sixth sura of the quran in accordance to the order of its compilation and the ninety sixth sura in the order of revelation. It is a madani sura of the Qur'an.
According to and some exegetes of the Qur'an, the eighth verse of this sura which is known as al-it'am verse is a characterization of a virtue of imam 'ali (a), fatima al-zahra (a), Imam al-hasan (a), Imam al-husayn (a), and their housemaid, Fidda. They fasted for three consecutive days because of their nadhr, but they gave their breakfast (iftar) to a poor person, an orphan, and a prisoner despite their hunger.
In spite of its brevity, this Surah presents a deep, varied and comprehensive theme which can be divided into five sections:
1. Man's creation from a drop of mingled s***m; his guidance and his free‑will.
2. The reward offered to the Righteous /abrar/. (This part has a special occasion for its revelation in relation to the household of the Prophet (S), ie. Ahlul Bayt; which will be discussed at a later point.)
3. The merits which cause one to deserve the rewards.
4. The importance of The Qur'an, the manner of conducting its principles and the demanding road of self‑perfection.
5. The dominance of Allah's Will (even though man has limited free‑will
