Benefits of CCTV Cameras in Business – 5 Advantages of CCTV

Here, we run through some of the top benefits that this safety system can bring to businesses of all types, and why it is a great thing to have installed at your business premises.

1. Crime deterrent

It goes without saying that having a CCTV camera installed at your premises will act as a serious deterrent to criminals and anyone carrying out illegal activities. The sight of a CCTV camera infers an air of danger and the presence of the law, deterring anyone planning to carry out a crime from doing so.

2. Monitors activities

CCTV systems are able to keep track of what is happening at the premises where they are installed. By monitoring the activity of workers and visitors at your business’ site, you and your workforce can have total peace of mind about exactly what is going on under your roof.

3. Collect evidence

In the unfortunate event of a crime occurring at your premises, having a CCTV system really does pay dividends as it provides a way of collecting evidence to help ‘suss out’ exactly what happened. Crimes can be solved far more easily with additional evidence from a CCTV camera, helping place times, locations and, most importantly, suspects.

4. Decision Making

When it comes to settling disputes, footage from security cameras can be incredibly important. This applies to both domestic and commercial scenarios. Whether it’s dealing with family disagreements, employee feuds or altercations between staff and customers, by referring to CCTV footage, you’ll know the truth.

5. Keep records

It is always a good idea to keep records of when your staff are coming into and checking out of your site, as well as when deliveries are made or visitors enter the building, so you can ensure everything’s running smoothly.

There are many further reasons why CCTV really is an advantageous installation for any business premises, so why not consider getting cameras installed at your company’s site and give yourself and your staff total peace of mind in the safety of your operations?

Black family - Having a spy camera at home

Having a hidden camera in your home helps you keep an extra eye on members of your family. In Nigeria, it is common practice to have babysitters, maids and butlers in your home. Having such people in your home takes a lot of stress off you. However, it comes at a risk especially when you consider reported cases of child abuse, R**e and brutality.

We are here to give you that extra eyes on your kids and families.

Good morning Family.
When do you think it's right to install CCTV camera
In your house or business?

19/04/2020

Another reasons to install home security at your home to protect your family.

The dreaded criminal gang known as ‘One Million Boys’ has suffered serious set back after they had mobilized to rob the residents of Olugbade in the Egbeda area of Lagos and were smashed by the Police operatives led by a female DPO on Saturday.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Police operatives from Idimu Division under Area M Command, Lagos, led by a female DPO, CSP Adaora Dimaka, engaged the dreaded gang in a fierce battle and arrested 8 of the suspects during operations in the area.

According to the residents, the bandits informed them through a letter they reportedly pasted on the walls that they were coming that day. The Police were duly informed and they mobilized to the area. Unknown to the bandits that the Police and the residents were ready for them, about 20 members of the gang invaded Olugbade Community in Egbeda area of Lagos at about 2pm and started robbing people of their valuables claiming to be ‘One Million Boys’.
However, they suffered terribly after the DPO, Dimaka, received information and immediately led her officers to the scene. The operatives dislodged the gang and arrested some suspects while others escaped and now at large.

The operation carried out by the Police caused wild jubilation in the area which attracted the attention of P.M.EXPRESS correspondent, who then visited the area and confirmed the arrest. The identities of the suspects arrested were yet to be disclosed by the Police because of the sensitive nature of the incident and other suspects now at large.

However, the suspects were detained at Idimu Division and were said to be undergoing interrogation and some substances suspected to be Indian h**p were recovered as exhibits.
When P.M.EXPRESS visited Idimu Division, the DPO, Adaora Dimaka, was said to have led a Police team for monitoring in the area.Police sources at the Station confirmed the arrest and said that the suspects will be transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, SCIID Panti, Yaba, Lagos, for further investigation.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, had earlier warned that there is no space for criminal elements to operate in Lagos and had directed both the Area Commands and DPOs to fish out any criminal element in their area and ensure protection of lives and property despite the lockdown over the Coronavirus pandemic.

Reasons Why You Need CCTV Video Surveillance In this Pandemic.
Following are 5 reasons why every home should have CCTV video surveillance:

1. Preventing Home Invasions
This is probably one of the most vital roles of video surveillance. CCTV video surveillance allows you to identify people who are on your property or at your front door prior to entering your home. By having a well-placed CCTV camera in a dark corner or simply above your front door will let you see exactly who is at your front door and what their intentions are. This greatly reduces the threat of home invasion because you can notify the authorities if a suspicious individual is waiting at your front door.

2. Discouraging Criminals and Vandals
CCTV video surveillance is an outstanding way for homeowners to discourage criminals from carrying out their plans. Thieves and burglars usually observe a property before breaking in it. If they see a surveillance camera positioned around your home, then the odds are high that they will simply move along to another home which is not well-protected. CCTV cameras are also useful for preventing vandals from damaging your property.

3. Monitoring the Children
There may be various hazards around the house that can be dangerous to children. Most adults simply cannot monitor their children continuously throughout the day, and sometimes, children can go astray where they cannot be supervised. Unfortunately, a tragedy can strike in an instant, therefore placing a CCTV video surveillance camera in a proper position can be a lifesaver as it would help monitor your child constantly.

4. Monitoring Property Remotely
With CCTV video surveillance system in place, you can remotely monitor your home or your belongings when you are not around in person to do so yourself. The ability to remotely monitor the home gives a great sense of comfort and security. With CCTV security camera, you can rest easy knowing that you would be able to keep an eye on your home whenever you like or be alerted to trouble as it is happening so you can call authorities to protect your home and your precious belongings.

5. Peace of Mind
The deterrence factors as well as added protection of a CCTV surveillance system can give you peace of mind knowing that your home and family are safe. Because of their 24/7 surveillance and monitoring, you do not have to worry about your home and your loved ones while away.
In conclusion, home CCTV can be quite beneficial – but make sure you follow certain rules before you set it up. Prioritize basic security like lighting and locks, don’t film beyond your home’s boundaries unless there’s a good reason behind it, and definitely don’t film other people’s homes.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) advice for the public.

Basic protective measures against the new coronavirus
Stay aware of the latest information on the COVID-19 outbreak, available on the WHO website and through your national and local public health authority. Most people who become infected experience mild illness and recover, but it can be more severe for others. Take care of your health and protect others by doing the following:

Wash your hands frequently
Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.

Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.

Maintain social distancing
Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.

Practice respiratory hygiene
Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.

Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.

If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early
Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance. Follow the directions of your local health authority.

Why? National and local authorities will have the most up to date information on the situation in your area. Calling in advance will allow your health care provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This will also protect you and help prevent spread of viruses and other infections.

Stay informed and follow advice given by your healthcare provider
Stay informed on the latest developments about COVID-19. Follow advice given by your healthcare provider, your national and local public health authority or your employer on how to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.

Why? National and local authorities will have the most up to date information on whether COVID-19 is spreading in your area. They are best placed to advise on what people in your area should be doing to protect themselves.

Protection measures for persons who are in or have recently visited (past 14 days) areas where COVID-19 is spreading
Follow the guidance outlined above.
Stay at home if you begin to feel unwell, even with mild symptoms such as headache and slight runny nose, until you recover. Why? Avoiding contact with others and visits to medical facilities will allow these facilities to operate more effectively and help protect you and others from possible COVID-19 and other viruses.
If you develop fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical advice promptly as this may be due to a respiratory infection or other serious condition. Call in advance and tell your provider of any recent travel or contact with travelers. Why? Calling in advance will allow your health care provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This will also help to prevent possible spread of COVID-19 and other viruses.

Topic of the day : HOW HAS TECHNOLOGY HAVE CHANGED OUR LIVES

Technology is very powerful and nothing is as good as technology at improving life. Even though this is both good on paper and on the surface there are drawbacks to this. Technology can affect life both positively and negatively. New technology always changes our life very much and takes it to a new level. It is like the new way of thinking or doing the normal things differently, better and much more faster with less hassle and at a much affordable rate. Imagine life before Electricity, Life before the Automobile, life before the Telephone, life before the Computer, life before the iPhone. Before those technologies life was much less complex but it was at the same time very difficult to get many things done with just the twelve hours of visible light that we are given with each day.
