Another award in the bag! The Nigeria Women Achievers Award, as part of the 2024 International Women's Day Celebration, honoured us with the "NGO of the Year" Award in recognition of the impactful work we do, especially among women, in Nigeria. While our primary motive for doing all we do is not the accompanying recognitions that comes with them, noteworthy acknowledgements like these give wind to our sails and encourage us to do more.We are proud of our work at CELSIR and we remain committed to reforming the lives of justice-impacted individuals, while helping to change the negative narratives about them. #CELSIR #JusticeImpactedPeople #IWD2024 #InspireInclusion

Mobile Library Launch: The Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos- @unilagnigeria at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre admonishing private/public organizations to look into expanding the opportunities that avail inmates in Nigeria. She opines that we can tap into the fine resources that inmates possess giving them a purposeful life which also cements public security. Credit: @tvcnewsng
The Launch! We are still euphoric about the launch of this transformational project that will definitely effect change and champion impact within the correctional facility community. Thanks to @fordfoundation for this support. Cheers to more wins cheers 🥂 #mobilelibrary #librarylaunch #impactproject
Something is brewing 🥳 Can you guess what it is? The hint is in the video😄 #project #socialimpact #rehabilitation
Being an inmate does not subtract the value possessed as a person and this should never be perceived as the end of life and purpose. Unfortunately, many inmates think and act in accordance to this ideology which even contributes to their high probability of returning back to the prison cell— Recidivism. Peace education is one of the pillars of active rehabilitation. The goal is to make the inmates realize that everything they need to become the best version of themselves is already within themselves. All that needs to be done is simply to harness and channel it to the right purpose; that which benefits themselves, their families and the society at large. #peaceeducation #inmaterehabilitation #socialreform
“Everyone deserves a second chance.” These are the testimonies we love to see. This truck-company owner who employs only ex-convicts as employees, fulfills the end result of rehabilitation- bringing sanity to the society. At the core of humanity is our ability to reconcile the erred back to society. The right to human dignity is an unquestionable right and as such, inmates deserve complete rehabilitation. #celsir #rehabilitation #inmatestories #makingimpact
Till we can completely change the narrative and perception about ex-inmates, the cycle would go on, which will eventually lead down the path of recidivism. As a society, we can do better. #inmatestories #inmatesupport #recidivism #prisonsupport
#Throwback to the first edition of the ‘A Better Me’ interactive motivational workshop at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility. At the end of the session, the inmates also entertained the guest speaker; talk about a total package😄 This is great evidence to confirm the success of the 2nd edition, happening tomorrow. #impact #mentalhealth #inmates #educationforinmates #rehabilitation
Every year since its inception in 2018, the International Day of Education, is celebrated on the 24th of January and this year’s celebration theme is:“Changing Course, Transforming Education.” We are completely involved and immersed in the fulfillment of the SDG goal 4 which is to ensure inclusive education, especially in the correctional centers. The recent launch of the library at the Ikoyi Correctional Center, is only one of many other initiatives we plan to execute to help create a total transformation through education. #internationaldayofeducation #educationforall #sdg4 #celsir #educationforinmates
This is the funniest thing you’ll see today 😄 Between grand daughter and grand mother, who is right? #viralvideos #fridaymood #funnyvideos #familycourt #lawandorder
An emotional moment… Like lotus blossoming in the summer season, life happens to us in the most intriguing ways. The expression on the face of the daughter tells it all as she reconnects with her father several years after he was being wrongfully imprisoned. #justicesystem #emotionalmoments #legalrepresentation
It has been a long ride from December 2020 to December 2021, and our reaction throughout that timeline, has been nothing but being grateful. To you, who has supported our vision, we say thank you. Without you, we would have been far behind in the course of serving transformation to the inmates. To our partners, we simply can’t imagine how the journey would have been without your impact. We hope to achieve more goals and bring other projects to life in the coming year. To our volunteers, thank you for sacrificing your time and efforts to making the vision a reality. Let’s create more memories in 2022! We are ending this year with a heart of gratitude and we look forward to an even greater year, come 2022! Thank you! #celsir #endofyearpost #endofyear #gratitudepost #gratitude #memories #events #inmatesupport #inmaterehabilitation
It began with a vision to initiate transformation through the liberation of the mind. The launch of the library at the Medium Security Custodial Centre is one of many other steps towards promoting #educationforinmates. It has been a long ride so far to this point, and we are grateful for everyone that has been involved in this process from start to finish. #prisonlibrarylaunch #librarylaunch #celsir #prisonproject
Halim Flowers is an ex-convict who preaches the message of love. He emphasizes the role of empathy, as well as the need to give every one a second chance. Justice is not merely a concept, it’s a reality and we believe in it as one of the processes towards achieving effective rehabilitation. It’s been a couple of weeks since the road to examination success began for the inmates at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre. We have enjoyed a seamless process so far, thanks to the cooperation of officials, the tutors and the inmates who have found the sessions engaging. While the classes are still ongoing, we are also in the process of creating more projects to aid the total rehabilitation of each inmate. #celsir #rehabilitation #educationforinmates #impact #change #gce
Our virtual tutorials are still on. Our tutors have been giving their best towards the success of each session and we are grateful for this. With the complete donations towards the examination enrollment and the ongoing preparations, we are sure that the students at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre would ace their examinations, effortlessly. #celsir #onlineclasses #virtualtutorial #gce #educationforinmates
Our hearts are still full with joy over the impact that was created at the first edition of the ‘A Better Me’ interactive workshop for inmates at the correctional center, last week. This is a testimonial from one of the participants at the event, who emphasized how happy he was to have attended. Thanks to our able speaker @artunbi for making this happen. #celsir #impact #testimonial #prisonsupport
Some good news to start the week 💃🏾🕺 The library project is 99% done and we cannot overemphasize how grateful we are for the inputs and contributions so far. Finally, the inmates at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre can have access to a well equipped library and study area with materials ranging from the Junior Secondary years to Masters Level. This further expresses our commitment to rehabilitation from within, while we look forward to many more life changing projects in the nearest future. Once again, THANK YOU so much for your support. #inmatesupport #educationforinmates #prisonlibraryproject #celsir #prisoneducationproject #librarysupport
