CANCER AWARENESS DAY 2021

TREATMENTS is likely to work best when you check your body for cancer before you have symptoms. Getting screening tests regularly may find breast, cervical, and colorectal (colon) cancers early.
Early diagnosis improves cancer outcomes by providing care at the earliest possible stage

REMEMBER!!!!
When cancer care is delayed or inaccessible there is a lower chance of survival, greater problems associated with treatment and higher costs of care.

Types of diabetes:

Type 1 diabetes A chronic condition In which the pancreas produce little or no insulin

Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin, and sugar builds up in the blood.

Prediabetes occurs when your blood sugar is higher than normal, but it’s not high enough for a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.

Gestational diabetes is high blood sugar during pregnancy, this happen when hormones from the placenta block insulin.

IS DIABETES A DEATH SENTENCE?
DID YOU KNOW, THAT UNMANAGED DIABETES CAN LEAD TO HEART ATTACK OR STROKE?

Diabetes mellitus, commonly known as diabetes, is a metabolic dis-order that result in too much sugar in the blood. The hormone insulin moves sugar from the blood into the cells to be stored or used for energy. With diabetes, the body either doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t effectively use the insulin it does make.

World Sight Day is observed annually on the second Thursday of October, is a global event meant to draw attention on blindness and vision impairment.
The theme for this year is HOPE IN SIGHT

Your eyesight is one of your most important senses: 80% of what we perceive comes through our sense of sight, a far larger part of the brain is dedicated to vision than to hearing, taste, touch, or smell combined.
By protecting your eyes, you will reduce the odds of blindness and vision loss while also staying on top of any developing eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma.

HOW VITAL ARE VITAL SIGNS?

Vital signs are the evidence of the current physical functioning of the body. They determine which treatment protocols to follow, provide critical information that is 'vital' for life saving decision, and so they are called vital signs. Accurate, documented vital signs are a very important part of Emergency Medical Service.

The five main vital signs routinely monitored by medical professionals and health care providers include the following:
• Body temperature.
• Pulse rate.
• Respiration rate (rate of breathing)
• Blood pressure (Blood pressure is not considered a vital sign, but is often measured along with the vital signs.)
• Blood sugar (Blood sugar is not considered a vital sign, but is often measured along with the vital signs.)
