The Minister of Education Adamu Adamu as announced that schools will remain closed till further notice. Week ago, the FG has announced that schools will resume on August 3 for the graduating students in pry 6, jss3 and SS3 classes so as to prepare for their exams especially WAEC which will commence on August 4 and end at Sept 5.
The FG has told the states in Nigeria that they should all allow the schools within the 36 states in Nigeria to resume and to provide all the necessary materials to fight against the COVID -19.
But unfortunately, the minister has announced yesterday that schools will remain closed till further notice.
The governor of Bauchi state and the chairman of the Edo State gubernatorial primary election 2020 has declared Governor Godwin Obaseki as the winner of the 2020 primary election. This means that He is now the flag bearer of PDP Governorship election at September.
The election was conducted on the 25th of June 2020 at one of the stadium in Benin the capital city of Edo state. There were 2024 total votes in which 72 were void and 1952 were in his favor.
Dignitaries present were the Governors of Oyo, Zamfara and lots of senators and member of the house of representative.
Obaseki, when called upon to give it vote of thanks, thank all the men who has stand by him. People like the Governor of River State, Delta State, and lots more. He used the medium to conduct a one minute silence for the former governor of Oyo state Sen. Abiola Ajimobi who passed on on the 25th of June 2020. He thanked everyone most especially his Co aspirants who all stepped down for him, so that he would become the flag bearer.
He assured the party that he will win the general election on September and emerge as the Governor once again. He told the people not to allow any external pressure on them. He said"Don't allow any godfather to have power over you or control you "

Few weeks ago, there was a crisis in between the ruling party APC which resulted to the changing of party by the Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy Phillip Shuaibu. Which resulted to the suspension of the APC national Chairman Comrade Adam Oshiomole by the federal court at port Harcourt.
The federal court today has granted Obaseki and his deputy Phillip Shuaibu to participate in tommorow's election. But the PDP governor aspirant has vowed not to succumb to Obaseki but that he will also participate as the opposer of Obaseki in tomorrow's election.
He said " I won't surrender to Obaseki who just joined us (PDP), so that I won't betray my followers and their trust in me." He explained further that if Obaseki eventually win tomorrow, he would proceed to the Federal Court and move further to the Supreme court.
