The Management of University of Nigeria, UNN has cancelled the proposed 2023/2024 Post UTME due to logistical implications of traveling down from various parts of the country at this challenging time.



Regarding this, the University management has come up with the decision that for the 2023/2024 academic session, the screening exercise shall be by assessment of verified JAMB UTME, O’Level and Direct entry results in place of Post-UTME Computer Based Test [CBT] examination. Any candidate who fails to upload the verified O’Level results at JAMB CAPS in record time shall not be considered for admission.

FUTA RELEASES POST UTME/DE ADMISSION FORM FOR 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Federal University of Technology, Akure online registration for Post-UTME screening exercise for the purpose of admission into ALL COURSES/PROGRAMMES for the 2023/2024 Academic Session commences on Monday, 11th September and ends on Friday, 6th October, 2023.

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates who scored a minimum of 180 in the 2023 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Direct Entry (DE) candidates who made the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) their First Choice Institution are eligible for the screening. Applications are hereby invited from interested 2023 UTME candidates who applied for admission into Yaba College of Technology, the best rated Polytechnic in Nigeria according to Webometric ranking for the sixth year running; for Full Time National Diploma (ND) and B.Sc (Edu.) in Technical Education programmes (100/200 Level) being run in affiliation with University of Nigeria (Nsukka). ELIGIBILITY

The admission screening is open to candidates who chose Yaba College of Technology as their 1st Choice Institution and scored 150 and above for National Diploma (ND) Full Time and 160 for B. Sc. Degree (100 Level) in affiliation with University of Nigeria, Nsukka in the 2023/2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). All direct entry B.Sc Degree (200 level) candidates are also required to apply appropriately on the College Portal. UNILORIN ANNOUNCES RESUMPTION DATE FOR NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS FOR THE 2022/2023 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has assured parents and other stakeholders that all the newly admitted students of the University would resume their various academic programmes in October this year.

Prof. Egbewole gave this assurance when he paid an unscheduled visit to UNILORIN FM 89.3, the official radio station of the University.
The Vice Chancellor, who did not mention the specific number of candidates offered admission, explained that the admission exercise has been practically concluded as most of the successful candidates have been paying clearance fees confirming the acceptance of their admission.

The UNILORIN’s Chief Executive noted that the exercise went well as the University of Ilorin remains the most sought-after University in Nigeria, considering the number of candidates who applied for admissions into the University.

The renowned legal luminary congratulated all the successful candidates and charged them to always be of good conduct, obey the rules of the University and be good ambassadors of their respective homes and parents.

Prof. Egbewole, who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), admonished the staff and students of the University to continue to key into the vision of his administration ”so that our target to become the Number One University in Nigeria, one of the best ten in Africa and among the best 500 in the world would be realised”.

UNIBEN RELEASES POST-UTME/DE ADMISSION FORM FOR THE 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

Screening Exercise for 2023/2024 Academic Session is scheduled to hold between Monday 9th October,

2023 and Saturday 14th October, 2023 in designated centres within Ugbowo Campus of the University.

The Screening Exercise shall be conducted using the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU CONGRATULATES LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) BEST GRADUATING STUDENT

The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, congratulated the best-graduating student, from Lagos State University, Aminat Yusuf, for achieving a remarkable feat of a CGPA of 5.00 (First Class Honours).

The governor congratulated Yusuf in a post shared on his Twitter handle.

He said, “In Lagos, we value hard work, dedication and excellence. Congratulations to Aminat Yusuf, a law student at Lagos State University (LASU), for achieving a remarkable feat, being the first undergraduate in 40 years to obtain a CGPA of 5.0. This is truly commendable! Your dedication and hard work have paid off.

JAMB announces when to decide cut-off for varsities, othersThe Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board will decide the cut-off for 2023 admissions into universities, polytechnics and other tertiary institutions on June 24, 2023, The PUNCH reports

The event which will hold at the National Judicial Institute will have in attendance all heads of tertiary institutions and regulatory bodies such as the National Universities Commission, National Board for Technical Education, the National Commission for Colleges of Education, among others.

In the weekly bulletin made available to our correspondent by the Director of Public Affairs, JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the board said, “Only two representatives each from respective tertiary institutions, comprising the Head of the Institution and one official of the institution, who shall be nominated by the Head, will be welcomed.

“Other critical issues slated for discussion at the Policy Meeting aside from issues emanating from the presentation of the Registrar, JAMB, on the just-concluded UTME are other issues of national importance, particularly as they concern the education sector.

“The meeting is also expected to chart policy directions for the nation’s tertiary institutions, set admission guidelines, present and analyse application statistics, and candidates’ performance, as well as evaluate the 2023 admission exercise.

“Furthermore, the policy meeting, among other things, would decide the acceptable minimum admissible score to be applied in all admissions to be undertaken by all tertiary institutions in Nigeria. TRENDY GISTS reports that in 2022, the meeting granted institutions the power to set their minimum allowable cut-off marks for admission, which they cannot go below once adopted and general concessions are reached.
