Hey guys!
I’m sharing the return I’ve made on my investment in Apple to encourage some of you to start buying shares regardless of how little. The key is to start small, diversify and keep building consistently. There have been times when this return has been negative but I’m in for the long run and so I never get bothered by how the market moves. I keep investing with what I can afford and diversify across several sectors so that when one sector is performing negatively, it will be offset by gains in another sector that is performing positively.

Since I arrived at Canada, I’ve focused my investment portfolio on stocks, high risk ETFs and high risk mutual funds - I’m still young so I can take risk…lol 😂 I do have some emergency fund that I’m building by the side so that if this risk crystallizes, I won’t have to start all over again and I’m protected to a certain extent.

If you’re having a hard time selecting the “right” stocks, get into the routine of buying ETFs. It gives you access to a basket of stocks and diversifies your portfolio effectively.

There are two types of people when it comes to investing money. Those who set their investment on autopilot such that an amount is automatically contributed every week/month/quarter etc.

And those who pay their investment like bill that needs to be taken care of. For those people, when they receive income, they budget an amount to be invested (which usually varies depending on income and expenses) and pay that amount to their investment account.

If you’re young, have a safety net plus emergency funds in place (or you’re actively working towards it), you should definitely build your stock portfolio.
