What is International Women’s Day?

International Women’s Day is an annual event that celebrates all the amazing things women have achieved. It is a way to show how women have and continue to influence the world. As well as celebrating brilliant women, it's also used as a day to highlight and raise awareness about issues that women have faced in the past and still face today.

Historically, women have been denied the right to vote, to work, and lots of other things, too. Because of brilliant women who fought against these things, women now have a lot more say in the world around us. But there are still many issues that women continue to face and fight for today.

International Women's Day is an important day for us to focus on the many inequalities, gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping that exists in society today.
The International Women's Day 2024 theme is 'Inspire Inclusion'. This theme focuses on teaching our communities to value the inclusion of women as we create a better and more inclusive world for all.

As a woman, build your mind on intellectual matters, make your yourself relevant in any sphere you find yourself, be intentional about standing out and being inclusive. Happy International womens day.

Setbacks and Moving Forward - Building Resilience ( Contd from previous post)

1. Practice self-care: Taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental health is very essential. Practice mindfulness, meditation, or other stress-reducing techniques that work for you.
2.Reframe your mindset: Instead of focusing on the negative aspects of a setback, try to reframe your mindset to see it as an opportunity for growth and learning. Identify the lessons you can learn from the situation and use them to move forward.
3. Build a support system: Having a strong network of family, friends, and colleagues can provide a sense of belonging and support during difficult times. Don't be afraid to reach out for help or guidance when you need it.
4. Cultivate a positive attitude: A positive outlook can help you stay focused and motivated during tough times. Practice gratitude and focus on the good things in your life, no matter how small they may be.
5. Keep things in perspective: It's easy to get caught up in the moment and lose sight of the bigger picture. When facing a setback, try to keep things in perspective by considering the long-term implications and what's truly important to you.
6. Embrace change: Change is inevitable, and the ability to adapt to new situations is a key component of resilience. Embrace change as an opportunity to learn and grow, rather than a threat to your stability.
7. Take action: Finally, taking action is essential for building resilience after setbacks, still make those steps to move from a point A to another point B and remember , progress is progress, no matter how small.

23/01/2024

Don't let setbacks paralyze you – instead, take small steps toward your goals, even if they are incremental. Remember, progress is progress, no matter how small. Building resilience is a lifelong process, and it's something that can be developed and strengthened over time.
Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes things don't go as planned. Whether it's a personal setback, a professional disappointment, or a global crisis, we all face challenges that can knock us off our feet. However, the ability to bounce back from adversity is what separates those who thrive from those who struggle. This is where resilience comes in.

Resilience is the ability to adapt and recover from difficult situations. It's not about being immune to stress or pain, but rather about developing the skills and mindset to cope with adversity and move forward. In today's fast-paced and ever-changing world, building resilience is more important than ever. In a later post, strategies for developing your resilience muscle will be discussed.

They say knowledge is power. Our mentors and senior leaders we regularly interact with likely have a vast knowledge on different aspects of life. Then we begin to wonder " how do people become so vast in knowledge that there's hardly any topic of discussion raised they will always have something to share" yes! It's called personal development.

The world’s most successful people find ways to incorporate learning into their day-to-day work.
The ability to acquire knowledge effectively is a skill itself.Knowledge is important for a variety of reasons! Gaining new knowledge allows us to think more deeply about issues from many different perspectives, and it sharpens skills like reasoning and problem-solving. When we’re equipped with the soft skills needed to navigate challenging situations, we can function more smoothly and effectively in our lives. At work, this can translate directly to leadership opportunities.

We pray against any form of wasted effort in this new week. Wishing us all a fruitful week.

Your commitment to the process is key!

Step by step, prep by prep.

14/01/2024

If you are serious about growth, be serious about accountability, if you are serious about abundance be serious about gratitude. If you are about initimacy be serious about vulnerability and if you’re serious about discipline be serious about delayed gratification.

13/01/2024

2024 is just another year, another season of process and progress. Get your vision board and steadily drive towards your goals. Don’t be pressured.

13/01/2024

I have read several online 30 things you must do in 2024, 48 things you must achieve in 2024, 122 programmes you must attend in 2024, 48 enemies you must kill in 2024…and so on

Please let’s avoid pressure from all sides ( be it online or in-house), 2024 is not the end of life!

Have your vision board ready, set your goals and decide your action points. 2024 is only another year, another phase, another season. Progress. Process.

In addition to focusing on our goals, let’s also learn to understand our process of becoming through the things we may not achieve.

If you think you didn’t achieve something fit for the social media show off this year it’s Ok! I tell us you it’s Ok. There’s pressure that comes with this season. Wished your year went in a certain way and it didn’t? It’s okay. That it didn’t happen for you does not mean you did not give it your best. This may not be your season, but your season is definitely coming!
Count the life you have, it’s a huge blessing. Count the steps you have taken and the progress you are making, it’s might be slow but life is a marathon not a sprint!
Be grateful and thankful for the smallest things. It’s an attitude of gratitude that will catapult you and get the creator’s( God) attention to you regardless of where you are right now. Pat yourself in the back and say you have tried!!
