Xmas or Christmas? What are the differences? Are they the same? Hmmm! Let us take a look at this.....

The difference between the word *CHRISTMAS*
and the word *X-MASS.*

CHRISTMAS is the
combination of two words: *Christ and Mass.*

Before Christ was born,
many years ago,
25th Dec. used to be
*PAGAN'S day for SACRIFICES.*

Later in the year
533AD Constantine,
the head of the then
Roman Church which is today the Roman Catholic, changed the day from *pagan's day of* *sacrifices to*
*Jesus Christ's birth commemoration.*

He called the day
*THE MASS FOR CHRIST* *i.e., CHRISTMAS*

1. CHRIST in
Hebrew means,
*The Anointed One*
or *The Chosen One.*

2. MAS in Greek means *A Big Gathering* *of People*

Thus,
CHRISTMAS means
*The Gathering of*
*People of Christ,*
*(His Followers/ Disciples)*

Then, where did the word *X-MASS* come from?
Beware!!

It's believed that after
the day of gathering of
Christ's Followers
*{CHRISTMAS},*
*became famous and respected worldwide,*
*Atheists & Antichrists decided to change it by*
*removing the name Christ for an X to mean*
*that there is no Christ.*

It changed the meaning
by reading X-MASS
i.e., to mean *"there is no gathering* *of Christ's Followers."*

📖 _*Genesis 40:21-23* - Then he[Pharaoh] restored the chief Butler to his butlership again, and he place the cup in Pharaoh's hand ... Yet the chief Butler did not remember Joseph, but forget him. [CF . vs 1-20]_

🎤 *INSPIRATION*
The chief butler and chief Baker were Pharaoh's officers, and they were the most trusted men in the kingdom. The baker was in charge of king's food, and the butler tasted all of his food and drinks before giving it to him, in case any of it was contaminated or poisoned.
Thus, this two were sentenced to prison, perhaps of conspiring against Pharaoh. Later the butler was released, and the baker executed according to the Joseph's interpretation of their dreams.
When the chief butler was freed from prison, he forget about Joseph, even though he had Joseph to thank for his freedom. it was two full year before Joseph had another opportunity to be freed *[cf. 41:1].* Yet Joseph's faith was deep, and he would be ready when the next chance came.
When we feel passed by, overlooked, or forgotten, we shouldn't be surprised that people are often ungrateful.
In this similar situations, trust God in Christ Jesus as Joseph did. More opportunities may be awaiting. Shalom!

Paul addressing eating meat offered to idols. He says that the meat itself is just meat and not good or evil and that if we eat it as just meat, it is not wrong. But yet, if we do so, we will hurt the conscience of other believers and become a stumblingblock to their faith. And that is to use our liberty selfishly instead of to walk in love towards others.

Today, *Lord* , we will not likely encounter meats offered to idols, but we know all Scripture is profitable for our instruction. 🎤 *INSPIRATION*
As a prisoner and slave, Joseph could have seen his situation as hopeless. Instead, he did his best with each small task given him. His diligence and positive attitude were soon noticed by the keep of the prison, who promoted him to prison administrator.
Are you facing a seemingly hopeless predicament? At work, at home, or at school, follow Joseph's example by taking each small task and doing your best. Remember how God turned Joseph's situation around. He will see your efforts and can reverse even overwhelmed odds.

The sufferings of life are but momentary, like a blip on a radar screen, compared to the endless days of eternity.

*O Father* , You have in wisdom and love to us ordained times of trials and sufferings for our own ultimate benefit and Your own glory. Job in the Old Testament, Paul in the New Testament, and countless other saints of God have suffered many things far worse than what we have suffered. Whilst death had no lasting dominion over men thanks to the resurrection, to the afterlife all God's children can expect to enter into, rejoicing in the *Name Jesus* .

*God my Heavenly Father* , heavy is the debt we owe to You and Your Son, who paid for our sin with His blood, and Who gave us hope in salvation. There are times in everyone's life when we feel alone. Teenagers often feel alone thinking that their parents don't understand them, they don't fit in with the popular crowd in school, or they're not sure they even like themselves. The elderly can feel alone when they have lost many of their friends; they may have lost a spouse or a child. They may have had to sell their home or had to move into a nursing home far from family. Young mothers can feel alone, unsure of their ability to cope with a newborn and without the stimulation of adult conversation. When all the children have left a home, the parents often feel alone, wondering who they are now that their parenting days are over. Retirees often have a sense of loss of their identity. When a tragedy strikes, we can even feel abandoned by God. Jesus is speaking to the apostles in this passage knowing that they will abandon Him and scatter in fear, leaving Him alone. However, He is also telling them that He is not alone; the Father is with Him and will not abandon Him. Even when He quotes Psalm 22 while He hangs on the cross, He is stating His firm belief that He is not alone, His Father who has been with Him all along, is with Him even then. It is the same with us. No matter what is going on in our lives, God is with us, a *loving Father who will never leave us alone.* I have always liked the verse in Isaiah 49 that lets us know that "Though a mother may forget her child I will not abandon you." If we are feeling alone, turn to the Lord.

🎤 *INSPIRATION*
God is always searching for those of us who are ready to listen to His message. So often we may be too busy and wrapped up in our own lives and pressures that we may neglect to keep our eyes and hearts open to Him. In this way, we may be in danger of becoming like those who reject God outright, for we have turned our back on His message also. Be sure to realize that every day, what is most important is God, Who wishes always for His children to see Him.

In the earliest of times, in which God sought to form a covenant with His people, Abraham was ordered to circumcise himself as well as his slaves and descendants. Whilst this was a crucial step in the Old Testament for which God sought a symbol of His chosen people, in the New Testament we see His message and mercy extending to all of mankind through *His Blessed Son Jesus Christ* . Whomever one is, wherever one is from, rejoice! For the word of God is open to all!
