A total of 14 schools visited π« ( Chrisland School Ladipo, Meadowhall School Lekki, Marywood School, Interguide Academy, Great Bloomers School, Supreme Child School, Le Porshe School, Salvation Army, The Apostolic School, Emerald School, Attwool School, Lifespring Montessori School, Peaceville School and Dansol School) were visited engaged and represented here in this video are the pupils of @attwoolschlekki , @lifespringmontmagodo , @peaceville_school and @dansolschools2 The experience in three words? This is an invitation only Event. This will be a creative writing workshop aimed at children. We are specifically looking to address the lack of African authors and stories out there and accessibility to those stories. Sharing our unique stories and seeing others who look like us in the media fosters a sense of belonging and connection thatβs vital for us to feel included, appreciated and validated. Right now we are looking at an African creative renaissance and it is important that we do not leave the children, our future, out of the movement. By sharing with them the skills and techniques of creative writing, we give birth to more thought narrative in this direction. We are empowering the next generation to dream about possibilities they may not have entertained or felt entitled to. To grow this industry, we need more people with the skills. First off..... There's a really big problem..... These children have no access to Storybooks and it's quite sadβΉοΈ.... We can change the narrative together.... Most of them call their English, Maths and other subjects..... Storybooks..... We need to do better..... Coming soon..... Book drive for children in Lagos Primary Schools....
