Earlier in the week, I received a delegation from the Northern Nigerian Students Association, who visited our office at The Law Suite to present this Award to me.

At first, when I received the notice of their coming, I was taken aback as I was trying to figure out the people behind the Award. A number of thoughts went through my mind: Was this being championed by any of the law students who have benefitted from our Firm's mentorship programmes? But they are not Law students.

I was amazed that the three delegates came from different schools in the North; from Kano, Kaduna, and Sokoto.

It was a reassuring moment that the efforts we make in mentoring the younger generation do not go unnoticed.

Today is the 9th of January 2024.

At the beginning of the month a lot of us wrote a list of the goals we want to achieve. The goals look so beautiful and we desire to see their manifestation.

I wrote down my own goals too.

Is there anything wrong with dreaming big? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, there’s everything wrong with just “dreaming big” and not doing the work.

As a business lawyer navigating the dynamic landscape of Nigeria's legal terrain, I know that achieving your goals requires more than just a vision – it demands dedication, resilience, and strategic planning.

Define your goals with precision. Just as legal cases require a thorough understanding, a clear vision sets the foundation for a successful journey.

In the legal realm, challenges are inevitable. It's the same in life. Embrace setbacks as opportunities to refine your strategies and approach, just as we do in the courtroom.

Every case is won with a well-thought-out strategy. Similarly, plan your path to success. Analyze, adapt, and execute your plan with the precision of legal argumentation.

Legal victories often hinge on effective collaboration. In the pursuit of your goals, surround yourself with a supportive network. A solid team is your greatest asset.

The legal landscape is ever-evolving, and so is life. Stay informed, be adaptable, and never stop learning. It's the key to staying ahead in both law and your personal journey.

It was another great opportunity to discuss ways of boosting the Nigerian economy and network with stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
