Airpeace - 816,130
British Airways - 981,848
Egypt Air - 585,620
Royal Air Moroc- 569,422
Rwanda Air - 679,070
Ethiopian Air - 677,824
Turkish Airlines - 807,408
Airfrance - 1.1m
KLM - 1.1m
Lufthansa - 1m
Virgin Atlantic - 1.1m
Before Airpeace began flying Nigeria to London for around 500k for a one way flight, the cheapest you could get any airline to London was around 3 to 4 million Naira. Then Airpeace came and the tickets have been dropping drastically. The new strategy these foreign airlines have now adopted is to force Airpeace out of the market by dropping their airfare below Airpeace.
What we should all consider is that if we help these foreign airlines to succeed by patronizing them because of their lower rates, what will happen is that Airpeace will no longer be able to compete and they will eventually start exploiting us again. Nigerians are one of the most widely traveled anywhere in the world and Airpeace is our only hope against exploitation.

My life was going well, and I was so reserved that no one could tell if I had money or not, until Chinmark happened. I lost $33,000, and all hope seemed lost. I lost my focus and direction, and I nearly lost my life. Many of my dreams and aspirations were tied to that money. My friend had lured me into a bad investment. People judged me, some laughed at me, some trolled me and mocked me.
I became a shadow of my self, but then, I'm a man. I chested the pain, started afresh, recounted those dreams, mounted them as a must achieved and two years later, I have accomplished them to the glory of God.

At this point of my life, i no longer complain, I only give thanks. Na man I be, a strong one...
Never, ever give up, kwechiri my brother, stand strong my sister. Time will definitely heal everything.
When there life, there is hope.
Congratulations to me and my family.

Before you japa or visit…
Make sure you have planned your finances before you arrive. Make sure you get someone that is resident in that country to provide you with sufficient information to plan your journey.
Unfortunately, the Naija in us makes us scared of letting people know about our plans for fear that we may be witch-hunted. That’s why you will see a family share in the joy of a new baby but prior to that, they would keep the pregnancy a secret. That’s why you would rarely see someone talk about their japa plans, until they arrive.
This post is intended to help you avoid shege when you travel abroad. When I arrived in the UK, I didn’t know anyone in London, so I stayed in a hotel for one month before securing my accommodation. I was fortunate because I brought enough money based on the UK government’s guidelines on the minimum amount needed for living expenses at that time.
Recently the desire to japa has led people to travel unprepared. I have had to bailout persons who were in extremely difficult circumstances, including families with little children experiencing accommodation problems.
This is usually the experience, prior to making adequate accommodation arrangements, your best bet would be to stay at an Airbnb for the first couple of weeks unless you have someone who has offered you temporary accommodation.
The budget stipulated by the UK government suggests that the living expenses for international students studying in London should be around £1,400 per month (about N2.1M) and you are required to have this amount for up to 9 months (that’s about N19M). Getting short-term accommodation for a period of about six months will require you to provide a guarantor. Most landlords request that your guarantor must earn a salary that is at least three times the annual rent of the property. For example, if your annual rent is £12k, your guarantor’s annual salary should be £36k or more.
Sometimes you might know people and think that it is okay to stay with them, but their living and economic conditions may make it unfavourable.
My wise counsel for those who intend to japa or study is - please make sure you have sufficient funds to cater for your rent and living expenses. Also, when you arrive, look for a church, mosque or a community organization you would want to identify with and become a part of that religious or social community. That way, if you have any problems, they can point you in the right direction. The pastor of my church has on many occasions provided accommodation for new arrivals who experienced accommodation problems while fellowshipping with us.

Her mum overheard it while she was on call with another friend of hers. She queried her why she didn’t tell her and shè allowed her to hear it from a third party.
Right now the mum has literally told all her friends and co-wives who care to listen that her daughter has started processing papers to Abroad.

Policy changes everyday. Sooner than later, it will be more difficult to get this, even when you have the money. Nor be person go tell you as the country be.
This is because of the rate at which young people are relocating out of the country.
Even when the process is stringent already, people are still massively interested. Go embassy first make you confirm
The next move could be to reduce the issuance of passport because without it, you can not take the next step.
If you have the money, get it now and start pushing towards the process of using it. Even if is five year validity, try get am.
Check opportunities online, do research, ask questions and get clarity over what you want.
Life na per head now o, work things out for yourself. except you get silver spoon shaa

When you get your visa…
Have enough money that can sustain you for, at least, 2 weeks before you move. Because, it’s not always easy to get a job in a new country. You don’t know how the system works and will be discomforted for a while. So prepare well.
If you meet people from your country, they will be more than willing to help you settle down. But they will disappear if you can’t even pay for your meals.
Nobody abroad needs more bills and extra luggage. They have plenty headache already, don’t add to it. Come prepared.
If you’re going on a student visa, use LinkedIn to look up other international students in the school and people living around that town… contact them and ask relevant questions.
You can also contact the office of international student affairs in the school and request them to connect you with other students from your home country.
The people you meet first when you enter a country matters a lot. Be careful the details and private information you share. Be open so people can relate with you but be smart.
Be prepared to learn and unlearn. Some of the things you value in your home country is nothing abroad, and vice versa.
Land in a popular airport if it’s your first time. You may have a connecting flight to airport closest to your destination, but it’s better to land in a popular airport.
Port of Entry is where your fate will be decided. Your visa is just valid for you to get to that port of entry.
Carry African food. Don’t worry about rice and noodles , you will find them abroad.
Accomodation. If possible, sort it before moving. But you can sleep in hotels for a few days as you look for a place. Be sure about where you will sleep that first day of arrival.
Agents or your friend that said they would pick you from the airport may switch off their phones when you land or they’re busy, so plan for that emergency.
I wish you good luck in your travels. ✅🍀
If you find this post interesting, shārè so others can learn.
