Call for Volunteers
We are ISEF, an NGO that was set up primarily to improve the teaching and learning of science in Nigerian schools and we are looking for volunteer facilitators for the delivery of course content in various science clubs adopted in some primary schools within Lagos.. The Foundation has recognised that the level of STEM education in Nigeria and the infrastructure required to provide a rounded and fulfilling learning and teaching experience for both teachers and students are both suboptimal and lacking. To tackle these problems and thereby ensure that Nigeria is not deprived of the development and growth that only a strong pipeline of scientific leaders and innovators can produce. ISEF will, in addition to many other interventionary solutions, introduce and implement strategies that will foster a love for science amongst students using professionals in the field of STEM as tutors and mentors, while also providing the required tools and methods that will make learning and teaching of STEM subjects enjoyable and fun. What we are looking for in a volunteer? A love for science and a passion for teaching Someone with a science background preferably in engineering, biological and medical sciences Someone who loves children and enjoys teaching them. What is required? Time required is one hour on a weekly basis during school period. This is an opportunity to give back and to help inspire a rejuvenation in science education in Nigeria Interested volunteers should fill this https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScuEvp-wJ1Cj2b6Ki9hyvtMw02uqKFgV9tYeUC8CS6aivP1nw/viewform?usp=sf_link and also help send to anyone that might be interested. Thank you :-)

This week, we started a series on electricity and in this lesson we were able to see how electricity is generated in form of static and current electricity. The children built up static electricity in a balloon and saw it attracts light objects.
