Been a long time here, but we never stopped having sessions with our mentees, both the one to one and the general sessions. We were just away from the Zuckerberg streets for a while.

On Sunday, 23rd July, 2023, we had the 3rd edition of our annual MGT Essay Contest & Pitch. It was not only an interesting session but also an avenue for gaining knowledge for the audience present.

All the girls who pitched did well. They were all amazing, and we deeply appreciate them for participating.

The battle was a very close one among the girls. Haleemah Ogunmuyiwa came first, Saeedah AbdulAzeez took the second position while Zaynab Hassan came third.

In the coming days, you would be reading the essays of some of the girls In Shaa Allah.

CULTIVATING HEALTHY FRIENDSHIP IN ISLAM

In a 500 (for junior students) or 700 (for senior students)‐word essay;
Explain what friendship means to you, why it is important to cultivate a healthy friendship and when do you consider someone as a righteous friend.

Tell us the effects of peer pressure or influence on young Muslim girls. Include lessons from stories of male/female companions of the prophet who were friends and who we should look up to in terms of keeping friends.

Include the challenges you have faced with keeping friends as a Muslim female teen.

Feel free to include any other thing you want. Use your creativity to interpret this topic in the way most meaningful to you.

Practical examples/personal experiences would be an added advantage.

اللهم اجعلهم في حفظك و كنفك و أمانك و جوارك و عياذك و حولك و لطفك و سترك من كل شيطان و إنس و جان و باع و حاسد

Allahuma j'alhum fi hifziKa wakanafiKa wa amaniKa wajiwaariKa wa 'iyaadhiKa wahizbiKa walutfiLa wasitriKa min kulli shaitaanin wa insin wajaannin wabaaghin wahaasidin.

O Allah! Put them under Your protection, security, neighborhood, party, kindness and shield them from devil among mankind and jinn and an oppressor and an envier.
