Omomene Odike, the brilliant founder of U-connect, a leading HR firm in Nigeria, was a guest facilitator at the LBS-BOI Business Innovation Accelerator. Her insights on accessing the market and scaling businesses during challenging times were truly enlightening. Here are some key takeaways:

1. Embracing spirituality in business: Count on God's help and support as you navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

2. Passion and Ex*****on: Infusing your work with passion and commiting to executing your ideas with excellence are the foundations for success. It's the winning combination that drives remarkable results.

3. Knowledge and Confidence: To attract investors and partners, you need to build a strong foundation of industry expertise and stay informed about the latest trends. With knowledge comes confidence, enabling you to present your business with conviction.

4. Market Segmentation: Choose the specific market segments you want to focus on and be clear about those you are not targeting. Understanding your target audience allows you to tailor your products or services to their unique needs by which you can deliver exceptional value and differentiate yourself in the market.

5. Building a Support System: Surround yourself with a supportive network of like-minded individuals. Seek mentorship, join communities, and build relationships with fellow entrepreneurs. A strong support system provides guidance, encouragement, and invaluable insights to help you overcome challenges.

We appreciate Omomene Odike for inspiring our community.

3 things you need to know to successfully access the market as an entrepreneur.

1. The problem: Understand the problem you're solving and what your customers find unique about your solution, products or services.

2. Your target market: Understand your target market, their preferences, behavior, aspirations and demography.

3. The channels: Identify the channels through which you can reach your target market effectively.

Our guest facilitator Mr Tony Aihie split our participants into their different industries and guided them through finding these answers.

"I used to face the challenge of unavailability of skilled workers. It reduced the quality of my work and ability to meet the demand of my clients.

During the Apprenticeship Phase of this programme, I stumbled on the solution to this problem and launched an initiative called 'Sew To Soar', where we equip disadvantaged girls and single mothers with tailoring and business skills, and consequently, empower them to become financially independent.

This initiative has provided a source of skilled workers and distributors for our products.

I'm grateful to Lagos Business School and Bank of Industry for this amazing programme"

These are the words of Khadijah Oropo the founder of Drapes and Apparels, her company makes custom ready to wear uniforms for organizations.

We celebrate her as an Impactpreneur who is making an impact while driving profit from her business.
