You can save your ideas in different places...

Yes.

The usual advice is: keep your ideas in one place.

Well, that's fine but...

Something else has worked for me.

- I save ideas on Notion
- I have a digital stick-note app to use when I'm with my computer but offline.
- A physical note ... for when an idea struck and I'm too lazy to open my phone.
- I have a voice to text app on my phone... Helps me record ideas with voice...
When I just don't feel like holding a pen.

Ideas can fly at you anytime.

The worse excuse you can give is that... You weren't with your 'favorite tool' so you couldn't save that idea.

There are about 5 places I store ideas and I never lose touch of any. Whenever needed, there's a list of all idea banks, and I can easily open each.

Frees me from the risk of forgetting to save an idea.

This has always worked for me. It may work for you -- too

The Day I Disobeyed My Uncle's Advice To Drink Water

Yes, I did. I disobeyed my uncle by proudly refusing to drink water. But before you think I'm an ass hole, I will tell you why and add some marketing insights

"You are to drink this water" was the first statement I heard this Sunday morning.

Although I didn't know that "special water" was reserved for me but I immediately knew the source...

I've been asked to drink such water before which I did for 2 reasons:

To fulfill all righteousness and to make peace reign.

My uncle is a faithful Christian with certain beliefs. These beliefs aren't so wrong or bad but I believe they aren't the REAL thing.

Beliefs like praying on water and drinking it. Taking sand and clothe to mountains for prayer...etc

I'm a Christian, but I believe faith in God trumps all that.

That morning, whether it was the way he structured his words ( like a command ) or the wrong time it came, coupled with the fact that I didn't believe this thing...

I stood in front of him knowing I won't drink that thing.

I disobeyed.

I said "NO" without minding if Satan's hell will get loose.

Still in this scene, in a matter of microseconds, my brain could connect everything to Marketing & Copywriting...( because it's what I do )

I asked myself: Joseph, why the objection?

Some answers started crippling into my innocent mind...

1) He wanted to force me.
" you're to drink that water " sounds like I have no chance to choose.

"It shouldn't be," I reasoned.

When you craft your Copy, some words/ statements make the reader feel pushed.

We are "proud" people and want to do what we want.

When it seems like people are pushed they won't buy. Be aware.

The right way is to stoke them with gentle persuasion tactics. When you do, they'll do your wish and still be grateful to you.

2) Believability
I was yet to believe this thing.

In your marketing, say what people will believe. If you need to trim some parts of your copy, DO.

Make claims but prove them.

Copywriting: this is what you can't stop doing

Oh Crap!

That feeling when an unsatisfied client reach back to you....

He seems to throw the piece back at you (even though online), and you happen to catch it whole-heartedly knowing that in realty.... you haven't done a good job...(smiles)

Down in your throat though, you know what the "real" reality is:

you didn't give the job your best.

For the client or copywriter who have experienced this...or who do not want this experience at all, it pays to understand that great copy is not all about writing.

Yes, you heard me right...

Infact,

If we are to adopt the 80/20 rule, great copy is 20% writing....

So, you ask where do the remaining 80% go ??

I feel you already know, but if you still guess,

I'll tell you in a jiffy....

80% happen behind the scene......( BEHIND THE WRITING SCENE .)

And what you do behind the scene is simple (because we all know it) but difficult ( it can be tasking )......and....
....it is called RESEARCH.

Note the word RE- SEARCH

The active word there is SEARCH....

The prefix "RE" tells us to do it again....to SEARCH again

Take Home:

Research well...and write well

Correct research will almost write a great copy...

With diligent research, a brilliant copy is about 80% done

And oh dear,

As Copywriters, research is our friend......we've g*t no choice.

Now Everybody Think I'm Wicked

Friend, surely I've learnt my lessons. I learnt in an horrible way

This is me wishing it never happened, but now, I can only ask 4 a second chance

Tolu has gone about talking about me in an unholy manner.

I summoned courage 2 ask her what my offence was. Only to be madly surprised when she said

"I made her lost a life-changing opportunity"

What? I couldn't grasp what she was talking about. Once I tot I could now figure it out, d idea rising in my head would disappear again...bcos it wasn't correct

When at last Tolu decided to open up, I was short of words and couldn't explain myself- bcos, already, the evil has been done... and everybody now think I'm wicked.

Frankly, for the past 2 months, not only Tolu had made me feel this way but she and many others who missed our *Copywriting Class*-- they always felt they've missed a golden chance especially when they saw the result of those who learnt from us -- this people are on their way to making the money they never tot they could...

Is Any Breakthrough A coincidence??

"I don't believe in God" some people say with pride.

But does anything happen by accident? And do u think a breakthru comes just like that??

Some people are ranting about
that nothing like God...Many bcos of their success & what they've achieved.

They feel that if they didn't know God and could succeed...then nothing like God.

Don't copy them.

It could be that: in their ignorance about God, they're enjoying the labor of a praying mum....who vow not to forget her pains at child birth-- drawing from those experiences, passionately covers her children like the mother hen does- using the instruments of prayer-- day & night...deciding never to sleep until the Lord...and nature...help all her children succeed.

Not many people have this rare favor.

On d day they ( d woman's child) met with success, it may happen that: he had an urge to visit a friend and even tho he felt like not going out-- he sha went. And there he met another fellow in his friend's house who was talking about an opportunity.

He weren't interested at first, but just decided to give it a try....and... HOLY MARY...that was the info that brought his breakthru.

Many success stories happened just like this.

So, just like that -- weda you believe in God or not...if you always dream of financial success, you would need a force-- can be the force of prayer and/or determination to succeed

But this determination cannot work alone. It requires a true & quality info...i can be that friend who brings such info to you

Building Rapport With Prospect For Maximum Sales

Selling entails many different aspects. These aspects are important and contribute grossly to the success of a sales and even the salesperson.
One very important aspect of selling is rapport building. For a smooth and successful career, you must consciously cultivate ( and master ) the ability to build rapport...and connect with others. Sales people are always speaking with prosepcts or clients hence the need to master how to build rapport with who you want to sell to...prospects and clients.

1). Know What To Expect From A Prospect

Many salespersons make the mistake of going head on to a prospect and later wished they had some things differently when speaking with prospects. You see, it pays to spend sometimes trying to find out who you would be speaking to.
Research about them. What is it about them that can be vital in communicating with them. You may find out something about them which is a great place to start in order to first connect with them. You won't want to begin a sales conversation by going into the sales immediately, a good place to start is to talk about what you have researched them. Make it genuine.

Also, researching about your prospects gives you clues into the kind of person they are...and the kinds of questions they are likely to ask. When you are prepared for all these, the sale is gradually being closed.

2). Call Out Prospects or Clients' Name

It is intriguing how human love to hear their names. We even carry this unconsciously into the business world. A person's name is personal to that person whether the person is in the restaurant, in the cinema or right in his office.

A really quick way to connect with a prospect is to... refer to him/her by name. It makes the person pause, you have his attention and your message can easily be delivered from there.

Apart from just getting attention, calling out name makes a person feels..."yes that's me...I love it when you call my name"
