They live in a state of denial （pre-contemplation stage）. They are usually dishonest to themselves and people around them. They exhibit traits such as:

GIVING WRONG INFORMATION OF THEIR WHERE ABOUT ,
COLLECTING MONEY FROM FAMILY MEMBERS FOR WRONG PURPOSES etc. They manipulate people, just to keep up the habit.
Until they agree to the fact that there's a problem, and take responsibility of their addiction problem, they're not ready for their recovery process.
You can tell there's a problem when；
RELATIONSHIPS AT WORK AND HOME IS NO LONGER REWARDING,
THEY BECOME AGGRESSIVE AT ANY SLIGHT PROVOCATION,
WHEN THEY ARE ALWAYS BROKE ,
WHEN THEY CONSTANTLY LOOSE WEIGHT etc.
