Dear Sir,

On behalf of the poor masses of Rivers indigenous people who applied for the 10,000 Rivers State civil service commission job, I write to you with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. Under your administration, we were inspired by your promise of an all-inclusive government, free from hatred and bitterness, and dedicated to the betterment of Rivers State for all its citizens.

Today, as our country grapples with the economic crisis and its dire consequences on the lives of our people, your sincerity, honesty, and visionary leadership are deeply appreciated. However, we are compelled to bring to your attention the prolonged delay in the issuance of appointment letters to candidates who successfully went through the interview and documentation process by the Rivers State Civil Service Commission last October.

We understand that the ongoing political crisis may be a contributing factor to the delay, but we urge you to prioritize the progress of the employment process. Many of us, as graduates who have been out of school for over a decade, have faced immense challenges due to the lack of employment opportunities in the state. Your swift action in this matter would alleviate the hardship faced by countless youths who are struggling to make ends meet.

We reiterate our commitment to supporting your administration and ensuring peace and progress in Rivers State. However, we implore you to consider our humble request in light of the prevailing circumstances and the urgent need for job opportunities for the youth.

Today, Governor Fubara gave his endorsement for a new hiring procedure at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education. The governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, inaugurated the governing councils of three tertiary institutions in Rivers State, including Rivers State University in Nkpolu Oruworoko, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Rumuolumeni, and Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Port Harcourt.

Governor Fubara urged council members to prioritize enhancing the state's educational standards by refining the curriculum, emphasizing the importance of including skill acquisition programs.

The newly inaugurated members include Justice Mary Odili, JSC, (Rtd), appointed as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Rivers State University, Nkpolu; Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka, MON, appointed as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni; and Dr. Robinson N Ewoh, appointed as Chairman of the Governing Board of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt.

Furthermore, Governor Fubara announced his approval for a fresh employment process at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, emphasizing that it should be conducted based on merit.

As a demonstration of selfless act and empathy towards his subordinates and political appointees, the Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area Chief Erastus C. Awortu, PhD., DSSRS, JP, has presented official cars to his Vice, Chief of Staff and the Councillor representing Ward 5 in the Andoni Legislative Assembly as replacement of their vehicles involved in road accident.

The Vice Chairman Hon. Tema Christopher and the Chief of Staff Hon. Talick Dandison received Sport Utility Vehicles while the Councillor representing Ward 5 Ikuru Town Hon. Gogo Ikuru received a Hyundai car.

*Press Statement from the Ikuru Town General Assembly On the Immediate Suspension of HRM King Dr. Aaron Miller Ikuru, On Wednesday, 28th, February, 2024.*

1. The Ikuru Town General Assembly, of Ikuru Town in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State in the General Assembly held today the 28th day of February,2024 in a decisive move to uphold the integrity and values of our community, announces the immediate suspension of our estranged HRM King Dr. Aaron Miller Ikuru, the Paramount Ruler of Ikuru Town. This action, prompted by series of serious and substantial allegations against him and his council of Chiefs(Family Chiefs),particularly, Chief. Davies Ibiamu Ikenya, underscores the community's commitment to ethical governance,transparency, accountability, and the pursuit of justice, ensuring that no one is considered above the law.

2. Our ethos as a community dictates that no individual ambition is above the collective well-being and governance of our people. It is crucial, therefore, that Dr. Aaron Miller Ikuru is suspended temporarily to allow for an unobstructed inquiry into the allegations, which include financial Misappropriation of our commonwealth, and breach of code of conduct, notably an ugly incident which occurred on February 16, 2024,when our community for the first time was subjected to a harrowing ordeal of sporadic gunshots, perpetrated by cultists led by Mr. *Imie Benson*,allegedly ordered by Dr. Aaron Miller Ikuru. These violent acts, which we unequivocally condemn, have instilled fear and unrest in our peaceful community.

3. Further compounding these concerns is Dr. Aaron Miller Ikuru's unaccounted absence from the community for over *SIX MONTHS (180) days* ,and his silence on these issues has significantly eroded public trust and created a leadership vacuum during this critical time.

4. Against this background therefore and in compliance with the principles of fairness and justice, a five man investigative panel has been set up to conduct a thorough review of these allegations against him and his council of Chiefs (Family Chiefs),and submit her report in the next six months to the General assembly.

5. Consequently, to ensure the continuity of leadership and the seamless operation of community affairs during this critical juncture, the General Assembly has appointed the Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) Elder Nathan Oke JP, Community Secretary Mr Friday Paul Amamino and representatives of the five (5) wings of the community to temporarily assume the responsibilities of Dr. Aaron Miller Ikuru. This interim arrangement is effective immediately, pending a comprehensive and final resolution of the allegations at hand.
The following persons have been duly appointed by Ikuru Town General Assembly:

6. Furthermore, the Ikuru Town Employment and Contract Bureau, previously under the Chairmanship of Chief Ibiamu Davies Ikenya, has been dissolved effective immediately. The committee has been reconstituted with new leadership as follows :

7. Finally, we wish to inform the general public, especially companies operating within our community such as Green Energy and Lek Oil, to immediately cease all transactions and interactions with our estranged king, Dr. Aaron Ikuru, and the said Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, purportedly on behalf of our community. Continued interactions with them will be perceived as deliberate efforts to escalate tensions and conflicts within our community.

8. While we call upon all members of Ikuru Town to remain peaceful, steadfast and united as we navigate through this period. We are resilient, and together, we will continue to foster an environment of integrity and respect for all.
