Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has advised ladies to exit any relationship that does not lead to marriage after three years.

She shared this advice in a recent episode of her podcast, Spill With Phyna, recounting her experience of being misled by her ex-boyfriend for 12 years with false promises of marriage.

Phyna emphasised that many men who have no intention of marrying their partners often deceive them by acting romantically and making unrealistic promises.

She said, “If you date a guy, for at most 3 years and he is still not considering marrying you, walk out of the relationship.

“This issue of men wasting women’s time in relationships without the intention of marrying them is predominant in Edo State.

"In Edo State, you will see people who have been together for 10 years with no plan of marriage. I did it for 12 years. The men have no plan of marrying you, but they will be feigning romantic gestures to deceive you.”

Let me congratulate all of you for being chosen by His Excellency Dr Alex Chioma Otti,OFR, the Executive Governor of Abia State, after recommendations by our great party stakeholders. You are specially chosen to represent your various wards and to drive the *New Abia Agenda* .

It's worthy to note that your choice is based on the conviction that you have the ability and capacity to further the grassroot developmental objectives of the present administration. You are here because of the people and not because of personal gain. This is therefore a period of sacrifice to enable us right the wrongs of many years of neglect and crass amnesia in the governance of our local government.

Everywhere you go in Obingwa speaks the same story of ineptitude and greed of our past leaders. You are here today to contribute your cherished quota to improve the living, social, economic and physical conditions of our people through quality discussions and deliberations.

We are now partners in the mission of *Rebranding Obingwa for better Politics* . The rebranding mantra sets a new mindset, a new attitude to politics, political thinking and actions based on the ethical social contract of representation. We have to eschew unbridled greed, _me before others_ mentality. Ours is a brand of politics that is based on less of self and more for the people, integrity, capacity and accountability. Of course, the economic landscape in Nigeria and indeed Obingwa today is not as cheerful as it should be. Our tasks are herculean, from rebuilding dilapidated schools, Primary Healthcare Centers to forgotten isolated communities that are cut-off during the rainy seasons by impassable road networks. From neglect of our rural farmers to *wicked exploitation* of and *utter lack of care* for the youthful population. Let us not also overlook the importance of a secured environment. Security is for you and me. There is need for all of us to work tirelessly to ensure that we can sleep with our two eyes closed. While we accept that this is not a rosy time to be in government for the real essence of governance, yet it is time to lay the foundations for a better tomorrow.

I therefore urge all our appointees, LGA staff and people of Obingwa, to queue into our mantra of *Rebranding Obingwa* . I thank you for your massive support in our effort to rebrand Opobo junction. Today, Opobo junction is getting better. We are not yet at the serene environment we desire, but we will soon get it right.

Now that the full compliments of local government administration has been constituted, we shall then work towards delivering the real benefits of democracy.
