My eyes are very sensitive to light. What should I do?
Light is an essential component for vision.
Our eyes have specialized cells called rods and cones that are responsible for detecting light and sending signals to the brain that are then interpreted as vision.
An eye that is not sensitive to light in any way is an eye with “no light perception” (as it is called by optometrists); an eye with no light perception is totally blind.
However, some eyes are more sensitive to light that normal, causing light intolerance, headaches, etc.

DO GLASSES ACTUALLY EXPIRE?
She always feels like she is running out of time.
There are so many things to juggle - work, school, extracurricular activities, household chores - and sometimes it feels like there aren't enough hours in the day.
So when it came to renewing her eyeglass prescription, she always found a way to put it off for a while longer.
After managing to use same pair of glasses for about 4 years, she now notices that her vision is blurry even with her glasses.
The end result was that her productivity reduced.
This finally brought her to the eye clinic where she gave the often-heard complaint: “Doctor, my glasses are expired”.

The Role of Nutrition in Maintaining Healthy Eyes During Christmas.
Poor feeding habits can affect the eyes in a number of ways. One way is by not getting enough nutrients that are essential for eye health.
For example, a diet that is low in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as zinc, can increase the risk of developing certain eye conditions, such as age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and dry eye syndrome.
Another way that poor feeding habits can affect the eyes is by consuming too much of certain types of food or drink.

SHOULD I RUB MY EYES? WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT ITCHY EYES
Your body may interpret some substances or objects which may be otherwise harmless as harmful.
This interpretation makes your body go into defence mode against these perceived threats.
Some of these otherwise harmless materials may include pollen, dust, strong scent like perfume, make-up, skin scales from your pet, etc.
These materials that trigger an allergic reaction are called allergens, and your body’s reaction to an allergen is called an allergic reaction.

MY LENSES ARE SCRATCHED. SHOULD I CONTINUE WEARING THEM?
If you are a regular lens wearer, you may have heard the importance of carefully handling your glasses severally emphasized.
Handling your glasses with care would not only ensure that your glasses last long for you, it would also help give you the clearest possible vision with your glasses.
A poorly handled eyeglass could:
1. Twist the frame:
A twisted frame would make your frame hang awkwardly on your face,
This could cause headaches, eye strain and other visual disturbances.

IS THERE AN EYE DROP THAT TREATS CATARACT, GLAUCOMA, MYOPIA AND HYPEROPIA?

UNDERSTANDING ASTIGMATISM: WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW.
When you mention myopia, chances are high that people know that it is a type of refractive error, where things close to a person are clear and far objects are blurry.
Most persons know that hyperopia is associated with clear far vision and blurry near vision.
This clarity seems to vanish when astigmatism is mentioned. Even though it is a type of refractive error, a large number of people including those that are astigmatic do not know what it means.

While looking at your chosen target, do you see other areas around the target?
WHAT DOES VISUAL FIELD MEAN?
