THE POLYTECHNIC,IBADAN [IBADANPOLY] RELEASES ADMISSION FORM INTO ND/HND FULL TIME FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Polytechnic, Ibadan has invited interested and qualified candidates for admission into the National Diploma for Full Time.

“For the Full Time, interested candidates must have made the institution either First Choice in the 2023/2024 UTME or Opened to a Change of Institution to The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

“Candidates for both Full Time and Daily Part-Time Programmes must have obtained a UTME Score of 150 and above. In addition, the DPP Candidates must obtain a Part-Time Application Form from The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Candidates for the National Diploma Programmes are also expected to obtain a Part-Time Application Form from JAMB.

“For all The Programmes, Candidates must also possess five (5) relevant O’Level Credits in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB at not more than two (2) sittings.

The institution further stressed that the deadline for the sale of the application form is 31st December 2024

UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS (UNILAG) DISTANCE LEARNING INSTITUTE (DLI) INTRODUCES FOUR NEW PROGRAMMES

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is expanding its academic offerings with the introduction of four new programmes at its Distance Learning Institute (DLI), according to Prof Folasade Ogunsola, the Vice-Chancellor.

During the 2023/2024 Blended Matriculation ceremony at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium of the DLI, Prof Ogunsola revealed that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for the commencement of these programmes.

The newly introduced programmes include:
✅ Postgraduate diploma in education
✅Bachelor of Science in Finance
✅Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counselling
✅Bachelor of Educational Administration

Congratulating the matriculating students, Prof Ogunsola welcomed them to the "University of First Choice and the Nation's Pride." She commended their decision to embrace Open Distance Learning mode of education, emphasizing its significance in shaping the future of education.
The Acting Registrar, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde, administered the university's matriculation oath to the students, who were presented to the Vice-Chancellor by the Director of the Institute, Prof Risikat Dauda.
The addition of these programmes underscores UNILAG's commitment to providing diverse educational opportunities and meeting the evolving needs of students. With NUC's approval, UNILAG's DLI is poised to further enhance its contribution to higher education in Nigeria

JAMB EXTENDS DIRECT ENTRY REGISTRATION, ANNOUNCES NEW REGISTRATION DEADLINE

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, says it has extended the 2024 Direct Entry (DE) registration by two weeks.
A statement by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, said the extension is to enable all candidates desirous of Direct Entry registration to do so.
recall that the Board commenced the 2024 Direct Entry on Wednesday, 28th February, 2024, and was to have concluded it on Thursday, 28th March, 2024, but on subsequent consideration, has now extended the exercise by two weeks from Wednesday, 28th March, 2024.
Consequently, the registration will close on Thursday, 11th April, 2024.
According to the statement, the extension became necessary following the challenges faced by candidates in going through some of the security screening measures put in place to tackle the cases of fake A’level certificates being paraded by some DE candidates.

The Board, therefore, apologized for the inconveniences caused, pledging that going forward, the process would be made more user-friendly.
JAMB, however, said it will not compromise on its determination to ensure that candidates, whose certificates were dubiously acquired, were prevented from benefiting from such certificates.
It added that candidates whose certificate-issuing institutions are among those on the list of institutions that have not verified their certificates despite repeated requests, would be allowed to register.

2023 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME) Registration Guidelines

1. Candidates who made Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife their first choice in the 2023 UTME and scored 200 and above, and those who applied for Direct Entry (DE) can now register for the 2023/2024 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (PUTME) screening exercise.
