Rivers Governorship Aspirant, Bro. Felix Obuah Submits Nomination Form

Immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Rivers State and foremost governorship aspirant under the PDP, Bro. Felix Obuah on Saturday, April 16, 2022 submitted his filled and completed Governorship Nomination form at the state secretariat of the party, along Aba Road, Port Harcourt.

The form which was submitted on behalf of Bro. Obuah by a chieftain of the party, and serving Commissioner for Youth, Hon. Prince Ohia marks confirmation of Bro. Obuah's preparedness to take over the reins of power in the state and consolidate on the legacies of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

Speaking to journalists at the PDP Secretariat after submitting the form, Hon. Prince Ohia expressed happiness that he led other party faithful in the State, to submit the form on behalf of one of the foremost and outstanding governorship aspirants of the PDP in the state, Bro Obuah.

He also expressed optimism that given his pedigree as outstanding governorship aspirant, Bro. Obuah's chances of clinching the party's ticket remain bright.

"You know that the PDP is a big, strong and united family. At the nick of time, we shall sit down and look at all the aspirants, and consider them, whether through consensus or through balloting system and get the best.

"Bro Felix Obuah has all it takes to win the Governorship election in Rivers State, if he gets the PDP ticket.

"Bro Felix Obuah is a household name, he has touched lives of millions of Rivers people, a loyal and committed supporter of Governor Wike, an unrepentant PDP member, and he's God-fearing"

RIVERS 2023, MY VIEWS on why Bro. Felix Amaechi Obuah ,( GO-ROUND) should be considered. DAY 1.

In the coming days i shall be bringing to lime light on daily basis the qualities and achievement of a man i believe is eminently qualified to pilot the affairs of Brick House. come 2023. Today we shall dwell on his achievement as council chairman.

GO- ROUND AS FORMER ONELGA CHAIRMAN.

Before his emergence as the council chairman in 2004. Little attention was given to him because he was not from the political ruling class but his goodwill and doggedness to wrest out power from those i called the signal group that decides the faith of the people at the eleventh hour of the election in a small parlor .He spare headed the paradigm shift and brought power back to the ordinary man base on popular demand. That was how he ended the imposition of an unpopular candidate on the people of Onelga . Even the party leaders then where speechless .

ACHIEVEMENTS:

1. He initiated ,constructed and equipped the LGA chairman office complex with all supervisory councilors offices , second then to Obio-Akpor.
2. He initiated , constructed and equipped the Onelga legislative complex and moved all the 17 councilors from the one open office space they use to stay to the new edifice
3. He carried out the fencing of the council land and stop the encroachment of the govt. land by natives.
4. On workers welfare he is still the best , Onelga workers were paid as at when due, apart from Hon. Felix Nwabochi that beats his record on early payment to council workers
5. He initiated and move the council hand to hand salary payment to the bank, staffs experience for the first time banking experience, with this corruption was reduced and security of personal was assured, the story or rumors of arm robbers attacking the council during pay day was put to an end.
6. He initiated and ensured that workers have access to facilities and people where able to meet up some of their financial responsibilities without stress..
7, on ICT he introduced a system where council staffs were introduce to computers , that is moving from manual to digital , computers were bought , workers from a given level were mandated to compulsory be part of the ICT training at Obite. All logistics was provided free of charge. This laudable program stop as soon as he left.
8. On tourism and recreation he initiated and constructed what we call today as the Onelga pavilion ,
9. He ensured that the deputy chair man lodge was furnished and deputy took over the property, that is where we now call JTF office beside the Eco bank .
10. He also built the Chairman lodge
11. He Carried out beautification and renovation of the council that the premises turned out to be tourist site,
11. Judiciary was also not left out, 'courts were relocated from the council premises and supported for conducive environment,
12. He also increased the IGR of the LGA, created empowerment and employment for youths .
13. Cordial relationship between the council workers, executive, legislative and even traditional institution was established
14.He is the only chairman so far (i stand to be corrected )that brought the CEO'S of the international oil companies operating in onelga all of them Elf and Agip inclusive ( not representatives) to be physically present at a meeting in the council premises with stakeholders , he did not go to meet them in PHC or Abuja , they came down to their host LGA and good decisions came out from those meetings . that is will power and exercising authority of the people.
15. In a bit to eliminate corruption from the council he was the first chairman to introduce payslips to workers
16. For proper accountability and monitoring he on monthly basis displayed on the council notice board Allocation that came to the LGA and how the money was spent or distributed. He maintained it through out his tenure.
17.He also sponsored Many Onelga people to pilgrimage .first of its kind even till now.
In short he was the one that made Onelgas understand that there was money in the council . he opened and simplify governance in his usual characteristics and will always say , the wealth of the people must go round to the people, The Go round ideology is in his blood , in terms of projects he commissioned, appointment or contracts during his days as chairman , the Go Round touch is always his guiding principle.
Very prudent , creative and focused . He has the prerequisite executive experience to lead the state . i will stop here today because of time and

RIWAMA Sole Administrator, Bro Obuah Congratulates Muslims On Eid-el-Kabir

…Enjoins Celebrants To Use Occasion For Spiritual, Environmental Rebirth

Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, Bro Felix Obuah has felicitated with Muslims resident in the state and all over the world on the occasion of the festival of sacrifice, EID-EL-KABIR.

Bro Obuah in his goodwill message to the Muslim faithful and friends said the celebration is another opportunity to renew our faith in the Almighty Creator and ask for forgiveness of our wrongdoings and more grace to do that, that will glorify God.

The RIWAMA Sole Administrator observed that Eid-el-Kabir is all about purity of heart which underscores the killing of animals for sacrifice to God.

He therefore appealed to Moslems living in Rivers State and elsewhere in Nigeria to imbibe the spirit of the religious festival even in ensuring that their residences, offices, business places, markets, parks and wherever they meet for purposes of exchange of goods and services are kept clean and healthy for human habitation.

The spiritual exercise, Bro Obuah noted, must be manifest physically and environmentally for it to be holistic and complete.

The RIWAMA boss also reiterated the resolve of the State government to make Rivers State second to none in the country in terms of cleanness and healthy living conditions for residents.

He warned that all the sanitary laws and legislations against the unwholesome activities of scavengers are still in force and will be invoked without discrimination against those scattering and dumping wastes indiscriminately and outside the government approved receptacles at approved hours of 6pm to 12 midnight.

On the self-imposed Thursdays Sanitation by traders in the State, Bro Obuah said pushing out wastes outside the 6pm – 12 midnight time frame is prohibited, stressing that wastes must be always properly bagged and deposed of between 6pm - 12 midnight.

The RIWAMA boss specifically warned that those doing business around Oil Mill market, Rumuokwurusi in Obio/Akpor Local Govt Area, should have a change of attitude and begin to obey the sanitation laws of the State to prevent the ‘big stick’

Imitate Gov Wike’s Exemplary Leadership To Save Nigeria, Bro Obuah Tells Nigerian Leaders

The Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, Bro Felix Obuah says if those who have mismanaged the nation’s resources in recent times for lack of ideas and leadership qualities had consulted the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Nigerians would have been a lot better, healthier and happier.

Bro Obuah who made the remarks while fielding questions from newsmen immediately after the presentation of Governor Wike’s scorecard in the last six years to Rivers people and stakeholders at the famous Obi Wali International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt, Monday, July 12, 2021, said the ingenuity and landmarks of His Excellency have confounded his political detractors and silenced the opposition in the State.

The RIWAMA boss said Governor Wike has not only written his name on the marbles for referencing but also proved beyond doubt that the mandate given to him by the Rivers people was not misplaced.

Sharing in the joy of Wike’s epochal breakthroughs in infrastructural and human capital developments, the RIWAMA boss who superintended the affairs of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and under whose stratagem the governor won the governorship election back to back in 2015 and 2019 respectively, said he would remain ever grateful to God for the choice of the courageous Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

He advised the All Progressives Congress-led federal government to swallow their pride and feel free to consult the Ikwerre-born politician for advice on how to pull the country out of the abysmal pit it has dragged her into.

Bro Obuah said it looks like magic that within so short a period, all the nooks and crannies of the State have been caught up in Wike’s revolution, changing the entire face of the state capital that even ‘we’ who live here are missing our way while driving because of not only the rehabilitated and newly constructed roads and flyovers, but also the installation of landmarks with hypnotizing aesthetic appeals.

The RIWAMA boss said, with the standard set by Governor Wike, it’s no longer going to be business as usual for any kind of person to long for the administration of any component the new Rivers State.

Refrain From Sabotaging RIWAMA Efforts, Help Keep Our Environment Clean – Bro Obuah

Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, Bro Felix Obuah has again appealed to Rivers people and those doing business in the state not to work against the good efforts of the Agency to ensure that the state is environmentally clean and healthy to all residents.

Bro Obuah said any action that negates the sanitation laws of the state including disposing of wastes outside the government approved hours of 6pm-12midnight and outside the government approved receptacles amounts to sabotage.

Speaking against the backdrop of some lawless open truck drivers intercepted by 4pm along Ernest Ikoli Street, Old GRA Monday, July 5, and another at New GRA illegally dumping wastes, the RIWAMA Sole Administrator wondered why these recalcitrant truck drivers take pleasure in flouting simple instructions and rules even when all it requires is to exercise patience for one or two hours to the stipulated time and at approved government receptacles.

Some, like another culprit caught discharging wastes on the median, well outside the approved receptacle along Azikiwe Road, close to Government House, Bro Obuah noted that no other reason could have prompted these repulsive actions other than sabotage for motives only known to them.

He appealed to all residents not to take the Agency’s considerateness for weakness, warning that henceforth, anybody arrested for littering and defacing any part of the State capital and its environs will be made to go through the complete process of prosecution and punished accordingly, while promising to prosecute those caught to serve as deterrents to others who would want to sabotage the efforts of the Rivers State government to keep Port Harcourt, the state capital and its environs clean.

RIWAMA Cancels Sanitation Exercise Billed For Saturday, June 26, 2021

…As Sole Administrator, Bro. Felix Obuah Urges Residents To Stop Dumping Wastes On The Median

This month's sanitation exercise earlier billed to hold across the state on Saturday, June 26, 2021 has been cancelled.

The Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah in a statement said the cancellation was due to very important government activities holding in the State on Saturday, June 26, 2021.

The Sole Administrator said in spite of the cancellation of the statewide sanitation exercise for this month, residents and those doing business in the state should sustain the healthy habit of keeping their surroundings clean.

Bro. Obuah further urged them to observe the dumping hours of 6pm to 12 mid night daily, and also ensure all wastes are dumped at RIWAMA approved receptacles only.

The RIWAMA Boss advised residents against dumping of wastes on the median, warning that anyone caught would be arrested and prosecuted.

He said it would be wrong for residents and people doing business in Port Harcourt, the state capital and its environs to dump their wastes indiscriminately and flout sanitation laws, warning that Sanitation Marshals are still on duty and would arrest anyone seen to be flouting the sanitation rules.

He reemphasized that any landlord or shop owner who allows the frontage of his house or shop to be littered with wastes, would be arrested and prosecuted.

Bro Obuah called on Local Government Council Chairmen to ensure that their areas of jurisdiction are kept clean, always.

RIWAMA Sole Administrator, Bro Obuah Calls For Synergy Between Agency, Youth Leaders

Pursuant to his bid to leave no stone unturned in justifying the State policy and resources committed to environmental sanitation and waste management aimed at keeping the State particularly Port Harcourt and its environs clean and healthy for the residents, the Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, Bro Felix Obuah has urged youth leaders in all the communities across the State to lend their weight to the environmental clean–up in the state.

Bro Obuah made the charge Tuesday, June 22, 2021 during a meeting with youth presidents, secretaries and public relations officers (PROs) of all communities in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas of the State.

The RIWAMA boss regretted that some communities in the State seem to have lost steam in keeping pace with the sanitation exercise and flout the laws as though they prefer being chased and whipped in line before complying with the sanitary measures put in place by the Agency.

The Sole Administrator frowned on what he described as unbecoming attitude of some persons who dump wastes outside government approved hours of 6pm to 12 midnight as well as disposing of the wastes at unapproved receptacles.

From henceforth, he warned, the Agency will allow the law take its full course against any person(s) caught flouting the sanitation laws not minding the social status of such recalcitrants.

“You are therefore enjoined as youth leaders in your various communities to lead the way by showing example, conducting and ensuring that every other person complies with these sanitation laws for our common good and enduring lives”, the RIWAMA boss appealed.

Bro Obuah mandated the youth leaders to carry the campaign to their nooks and crannies as not only a duty but also a responsibility, warning that the Agency has put in place a Police Division and Magistrate Court with all the powers to arrest, try and persecute sanitation defaulters.

He also shed light on the midweek sanitation exercise holding on Thursdays, stressing that the exercise is not government approved.

He however, said while the Thursdays Sanitation exercise which is the initiative of traders will continue, the Agency will not tolerate the wastes littered around or not disposed of at the government approved receptacles and approved hours of 6pm to 12 midnight.

The Sole Administrator said to give bite to the Agency’s warning, marshalls are to be appointed for each of the communities to monitor compliance with the sanitation laws.

Those to be so appointed, he said, will be recommended by the community youths themselves.

Over 222 youth presidents, secretaries and public relations officers from communities in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas attended the meeting with the RIWAMA Sole Administrator.

.. Issues 48 Hours Ultimatum to all Service Providers to keep their zones/areas clean
.. Urges Council Chairmen to Keep Their Local Government Areas Clean

The Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah, has charged Service Providers working with the Agency to take their work seriously and avoid situations were wastes are seen littered in any part of Port Harcourt, the State Capital, and its environs or have their contracts terminated.

Bro Obuah, while addressing Service Providers, on Saturday, June 12, 2021, in Port Harcourt, declared that the task to keep Port Harcourt the Rivers State Capital, and its environs clean at all times was a mission that must be accomplished and frowned particularly at the nonchalant attitude of some Service Providers in the discharge of their duties.

He charged all Service Providers to ensure that their zones/areas are kept clean within 48 Hours from Monday, June 14, 2021, and at all times.

While urging Service Providers to remain resolute, challenges notwithstanding, Bro Obuah said the Agency was not unmindful of the challenges often encountered in their effort to keep the State clean and healthy.

He regretted that “despite persistent cautions and warnings" from the Agency to members of the public about the environmental laws of the state on indiscriminate dumping of refuse, some persons have formed the habit of indiscriminately dumping refuse on the median and outside government approved dumping hours of 6pm to 12 midnight, daily.

According to the RIWAMA Sole Administrator, Bro Obuah reports revealed that some wastes noticed in some parts of Port Harcourt the Rivers State Capital, and its environs after Service Providers have finished working are generated by traders in the name of market sanitation and those wastes are indiscriminately dumped outside government approved dumping hours of 6pm to 12 midnight.

He therefore placed a ban on dumping of wastes indiscriminately outside government approved hours of 6pm to 12 midnight by traders in the State in the name of market sanitation.

Such wastes, Bro Obuah directed, should only be dumped at government approved receptacles from 6pm to 12 midnight.

Henceforth, he warned, any person caught indiscriminately dumping wastes outside the government approved dumping hours of 6pm to 12 midnight would be arrested and prosecuted.

Bro Obuah also appealed to Local Government Council Chairmen to ensure that all areas within their jurisdiction are kept clean at all times, regretting that some local government council chairmen allow wastes build up in their areas for days without removing them.

Bro Obuah Applauds Gov Wike’s 6yrs In Office, Optimistic Of Greater Heights

As Governor Nyesom Wike marks two years of his second term in office and a cumulative of six years in office as the Vision bearer for the oil rich multi- ethnic Rivers State, Bro Felix Obuah, Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA says the State has emerged stronger and more united under the leadership of Governor Wike.

Bro Obuah, the immediate past State Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and under whose leadership, Gov Wike won the governorship election back to back in these six years of purposeful leadership powered by the Ikwerre born politician, lawyer and political scientist, all the erstwhile sentiments that characterized Rivers people have evaporated and crystallized into one united whole enviably tagged ‘Rivers people’

The RIWAMA boss in a treatise titled, ‘Why we celebrate’ Governor Wike, said despite the current economic hardship in the country the magnitude of which is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria no thanks to All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government, governor Wike has been able to demystify governance as something achievable if the political will is there and the right peg rightly fitted into the right hole.

He described Governor Wike’s two years of his second term in office as an era of massive infrastructural development, link roads and bridges between various communities across the 23 Local Government Areas of the State; monumental flyovers and overhead bridges in the State capital, Port Harcourt; aimed at easing the perennial traffic congestions that had become a torn in the flesh of commuters; rehabilitation and reactivation of moribund health facilities across the State as well as dilapidated educational institutions.

Other reasons for celebrating what he called “pragmatic leadership” include: elevation of State tertiary educational institutions to befitting status, human capital development, effectuating the State judiciary and funding the security agencies in the State for performance optimization etc.

The RIWAMA Sole Administrator also commended Governor Wike for a cleaner, neater, friendly and safer environment better than he met it on May 29, 2015 when he was sworn in.
